Cons: The staff were poor. Wanted to watch the charity shield football game but the room was not ready ( an hour and a half late ) so only seen the last 4 minutes of the game. As an apology we were promised a bottle of white wine but it didn't come. Sorry to say the staff weren't up to the job. But had a nice time anyway.

Pros: The room is very nice and very well decorated, all the staff very helpful and location is great, close to Tower Hill station. They also have a great bar in the rooftop. Best way to get to the hotel from Heathrow Airport (pay attention because in their website they recomend another connection that is not the easiest one): Arriving at any Heathrow terminal, you can take the tube located beneath the airport, Piccadilly Line (blue) towards Cockfosters. At Barons Court station (this is the easiest station to connect because it doen´t have any stairs, you have only to change the line), change to the District Line (green) towards Upminster. Get off at Tower Hill Station, then take the Fenchurch Street exit and the hotel will be on your right.

I accidentally booked at the wrong hotel and they made it SO easy to change my booking at the drop of a hat which was absolutely lovely! Breakfast was pretty good, too.

Check- in staff were so attentive (especially January-thank you!!) and we were given a complimentary upgrade. The room and facilities were second to none as was the service throughout. The roof bar (the aviary) is definitely worth checking out if the weather is good. Location is also fantastic. Thank you Royal Montcalm!!

Pros: After reading so many reviews I was expecting bit more from this hotel. I felt like its somewhere between 4 star to 4.5 star hotel. I didn't have too many complaints, everything was smooth from check in and out taking only 30 seconds to comfortable beds etc but i think having lived in other 5 star hotels it felt like little bit less than I was desiring for.

The spa was beautiful and to top it off we got a complimentary dessert and fruit in our room. Amazing! Would stay here again 100%. Great value for money, worth every penny.

Pros: The hotel was trendy, modern and comfortable. Located only ten minutes walk to Liverpool Street station the location was very easy to get to and handy to bars in Shoreditch. The staff were all incredibly polite and helpful and made the room extra special for my patterns birthday. The room comes with mood lighting, a scent and a Nespresso machine. The aviary rooftop bar has a cool vibe with a DJ at the weekend & great views of London.

Cons: It was odd that we played bar game on the fri evening and my husband was given the sliders no problem, but when our guest (who was staying in the hotel too) went to play on the sat night he was asked to leave a £10 deposit .

Although a young man, he was clearly overqualified. The night manager was highly reasonable and particularly helpful when I confronted any problems with my stay. He had very good customer service skills.
Another nice element was the provision of fruit every evening. It was a unique and memorable touch. The variety included persimmons, bananas, apples, oranges, and plums. That was very nice.
Finally, the room offered outlets adapted for international travelers.

Cons: The negative element of the stay included the inattentiveness of most staff members. There was a lack of polished professionalism that is instrumental to a quality hotel. It felt like an disjointed operation.
As for house keeping, I was unimpressed. The bathroom was not well cleaned, and it appeared the floor towel was repeatedly unchanged.
Although the room was constructed with high-end technology, it was poorly integrated. The technology was not particularly easy to use and added little value. The television would not respond to the controller. Further, the television sat above the desk, making use of the desk awkward. Also, there was no light above the desk and no desk lamp.
Finally, both the pool and gym were inaccessible at night and early morning. This can be inconvenient for business travelers. Still, the pool was impressive.
Overall, I was disappointed and would recommend looking into other hotels, such as Apex (where I had a more pleasant stay during a prior visit).

Pros: Great Hotel, Great location. The staff are brilliant spoke to them over the phone a couple of times before our trip they where so helpful over the phone and throughout our whole stay. We requested late checkout at 4pm (£5 per hour after 12 and if you decide to check out earlier your only charged for the time you've stayed, even if you have requested until 4pm and change your mind) which was brilliant as our train back wasn't until 8pm and once we did check out they held our bags whilst we went for some food and a wonder round. The food was gorgeous we had the full English breakfast which was probably the nicest Breakfast I've ever had. The location is great right in between 2 tube stations (Old Street & Liverpool Street) so easy to get around lots of lovely Bars and Restaurants we particularly liked BoxPark which is a little pop up market and a food and drink place on the terrace lots of different food stalls which where all gorgeous, drinks and live music, plus it was lovely and sunny which was a bonus. There was honestly nothing i didn't like about this hotel and the staff just made it as they where so helpful and lovely which is always nice. Would most definitely stay here again!

I was able to leave my things in disarray and not be bothered with a knock on the door or staff coming in to change towels etc. It was more like home and felt like my own little apartment. Pros: I really liked the fact that I didn't have to have the room serviced unless I put the card outside the door requesting it. I was able to leave my things in disarray and not be bothered with a knock on the door or staff coming in to change towels etc. It was more like home and felt like my own little apartment. Whenever I asked for milk at reception, someone appeared like a flash at my door with a new bottle. Breakfast food was excellent. Staff friendly and courteous.
Cons: I wouldnt say I didn't like it, but it was a little confusing to me that, the first couple of days I was there, the hot breakfast buffet was set up as self serve, and then a week later, it was to be ordered on the menu. This time a set plate and not 'all you can eat.'

Pros: The Guest Relations Team is on top of their game. I received a personalized note and treats for my special stay. Thank you! The front desk staff were pleasant, the servers and host at breakfast were exceptionally kind, professional and efficient. The Lobby has the most wonderful scent that I long to smell again. The rooms were to my liking. No nasty carpets and with clean white bedding. The bathroom was also great. Minimal but very nicely designed. I also liked closet and drawer space in the studio room. Smart move to not have a porous fabric couch with so many different guests. Cleanliness expectations were all met! They serve a very good breakfast with the most wonderful fresh juices that I long for. Oh those croissants too! Something for everyone. Nice place to try a traditional english breakfast or make your own creations. The Executive lounge had warm food bites that varied from day to day. Also a variety of beverages. The Location? The hotel is literally across the street from a tube station (Lambeth) that can take you or connect to anywhere. Plenty of public transport buses will take you back to the hotel for overground sightseeing. I just looked for any bus that said Waterloo and was on my way. Waterloo is a huge tube and bus hub which close to the hotel. You are also in walking distance of so many great attractions.(London Eye. Parliament, "Big Ben", Southbank). Restaurants and convenience stores all around but it's not a noisy area. For the price and level of accommodations you get at this hotel, especially in high season! It is hard to beat. You have effortless access to London staying here. I would stay again and recommend the hotel to friends and family.

Cons: Noisy although I asked for quite room I can hear the water coming down in the drain pipe of the neighborhood toilets whenever the neighborhood use the flush which is so noisy and disgusting. Not staying in this hotel again

Cons: The studio was facing the Waterloo station, very noisy with all the train traffic. The breakfast was dull, not very diverse, no packed yoghurts (only as a bulk), very little fruits to none, running out of good bread (the bagguete). The breakfast facility was also a problem, crowded, no windows, smelly some time. The restaurant is ok to have breakfast but is closing 10am to get ready for lunch. There is instead one facility for breakfast for families with kids.

Cons: There was one staff member who was incredibly rude called Ana on the check in desk. Our room service took over an hour. The food was adequate and the kids were exhausted buy the time it arrived. They lost our bag as they hadn’t tagged it (it was later found) and the room wasn’t clean (very dusty in places). The breakfast in the kids area was shockingly bad. Very slow to replenish and when I finally complained they told me they were closing an hour earlier as they had the room booked out for a meeting... it was honestly terrible. The lack of communication and care for those already in the hotel was somewhat lacking...

Cons: The staff were very rude and unhelpful. We had a problem in our room at 12:30 with the AC system pouring water into the electric lights below and we were offered a bucket!!!! We complained that this was dangerous and wanted another room, we were made to feel like this was our fault. On top of this, no one helped us with our bags or even came to show us were the room we were moving to was. Very very poor service and care given

Lifts seem to have a mind of there own whether room card is scanned or not. 1 lift sometimes doesn’t move. Tables for 2 for breakfast to close together. Roof top bar very expensive.

Cons: The rooms were so so small, not like any other double tree Hilton I’ve stayed in. Only had shampoo and conditioner in the shower, no shower gel. Bed wasn’t a Queen bed even tho we paid for a “Queen room” Bed was really bouncy, as soon as I sat on it and I nearly flew off it Booked into savage gardens for food and drink, only 2 / 4 lifts go to level 12 so was waiting 10 mins for the correct 2 lifts to come because when I pressed the button the ones that came were the 2 that didn’t go to the top floor.

Cons: We upgraded our room to a suite, however did not know that all rooms have a conjoined room separated by a door that is extremely thin. We could hear convesations, doors opening and closing and one night we listened to our neighbors party until 2 am- only stopping after we called the front desk twice. The other misleading thing is that this rooftop bar is only open on some nights- it was a big draw for us and we were very disappointed it wasn’t there. Lastly although the hotel offers on site amenities that are wonderful such as a bar, cafe and restaurant- the locals take up all of the common space and there is no room to actually enjoy the amenities

My stay was excellent! The staff were wonderful and the hotel itself is very well kept. The decor and amenities give off a really high-end vibe. We were pleasantly surprised to receive a room upgrade on check in. We also received a bottle of champagne after mentioning that it was the end of our honeymoon in the U.K. We ate at the restaurant associated with the hotel and the food was excellent. I can't thank the staff enough for what a good experience we had. It really made the end of our trip special.

Cons: Hotel is in the financial district and is kinda out of the way on the weekends. Upside is cheap and good breakfast during the week for all the business folks. If you are feeling more spendy, the hotel restaurant is really good.

Room size was decent, however accommodation was not well prepped. Curtain fallen from rail, bed not dressed, bathroom amenities damaged/broken and evidence of previous room occupant present (ie welcome card and eaten chocolates). Don’t feel the price paid reflected stay and would appreciate some form of refund.

Cons: We stayed for a few nights, over a weekend. There were functions/events on (a wedding being one) outside of the grounds which we were not told of when booking. Our room overlooked the events which were very noisy. The staff involved in ushering the guests of the event (one man in particular) was very rude to us and told us that as we were not part of the event, we could not walk to our hotel a certain way but had to sneak down the very narrow side of the marquee, hosting the guests. Also, we were advised when booking that there was a wellness Centre in the hotel and even followed signs to it but there was none.

Cons: I had flowers delivered to me at the hotel and these were turned away at reception with the reason being that I wasn't staying at the hotel which was incorrect. I left my key and a note at reception for my son to collect and leave his luggage in my room, reception said that I had not done this and did not have a key for him. Pros: The bridge view rooms are well worth any extra cost. We got into our room, opened the curtains and there was the Tower Bridge. Fantastic! The hotel is close-ish to the tube station so fairly easy to travel anywhere in town. As I said, the bridge view can't be beat. The room was comfortable and the hotel is pretty nice. Seems nicer than what our room cost. I had no problems with our stay. It was 100 degrees when we got to London and there was a guest in the check in area complaining that there was no air conditioning, but we weren't too warm at all in our room. The next day it cooled 30 degrees and rained and the air in the room was fine. I really like having a safe in the room, so that's a plus. We used the concierge to book tickets to the hop-on, hop-off tour bus which was nice. Just for convenience we ended up eating at the same restaurant in the hotel twice and it was pretty good. It's a pleasant area overlooking the Thames. I'd stay there again with no hesitation.

Pros: We loved this hotel. From the minute we arrived everything was a great experience. The room was beautiful and clean. The view was incredible and the location is perfect. We went to the bar later at night and enjoyed the perfect setting and looking out onto The Tower Bridge. The location is also central to most of the places we wanted to see. Had breakfast in the private dining room and the breakfast was lovely. The restaurants that are part of the hotel can also be recommended for a light lunch. We will definitely visit again.

Cons: It's sometimes a bit hard to get a taxi at this hotel. It's kind of at the end of the road near the thames and unless a taxi has just dropped someone off, it may be a waiting game. Our last day there was a bike race near the hotel and taxis couldn't get to the hotel (roads blocked off) so we ended up walking with luggage to the tube station.

Cons: I don't have any adverse comment on the hotel and will be back next month except for a few minor details: * the room is in good shape just a new carpet would give the room a fresh look again. * We had a Tower bridge view room on the second floor however, the view is disturbed by the giant tree in front of the room. The view from the room that is not disturbed by the tree is spectacular. Other than that there are only positives about this hotel.

The distance from any underground station - though the 63 bus passed frequently going direct to Kings Cross from outside the door enabling us to go everywhere. Underground not within comfortable walking distance. It would be good if there were a map on the wall of the local area showing BUSES you can get along Roseberry Avenue which is very near: 55, 243, 19 and 38 and where they go. Kings cross is hectic for buses - too many bus stops.

Cons: This trip felt like a 5 star hotel let down by 2 star service and attitude from some of the staff. We asked for a room change due to the facilities in our initial room being less than we are used to (a dingy small windowed room in a distant corner of the hotel with a wet room and no bath). After our initial phone request was ignored, we returned to reception with our luggage and a room change was then granted, but with bad grace from the receptionist. Room servicing in our second room was poor - things were not fully replenished and the level of cleanliness was not up to the standard we know and expect from the Grange as it was. Certain small luxuries - for example dressing gowns and slippers - have disappeared. A temporary blip? An indication of a change of standards with a change of ownership? Who knows, but maybe time to move on.

The charming, brick front building with its terrace garden and wonderful location on the New Kent Road makes it an appealing spot. It is within the same area as the Imperial War Museum and London South Bank University, as well. A pre-WWI baroque building, it is a historic property and has been a hostel for more than 100 years. Cons: The lift wasn’t working and we had to carry our luggage all the way up to the 3rd floor which was about 7-8 flights of stairs

Pros: The baisin in the room was handy and lots of areas to hang out and be sociable
Cons: The room was very tiny, glad I was with friends and not strangers! Also girls toilets were right down the other end of the corridor- quite far

Pros: Room was actually pretty clean, and restrooms were heavily used, but cleaned regularly. Staff was always very nice and helpful. Room was spartan, but comfortable.
Cons: Very noisy - lots of commotion outside our room. Also, for some reason, they decided to shut the bathroom near us for cleaning every morning from about 7:30 to 8:15 - right when lots of folks were wanting to shower. Finally, I had requested a private room for our family, but they told me that they didn't have any , so I had to pay extra money to get a whole 10 person room. Still a decent rate overall, compared to other places, but not the rate i thought I would pay. Finally, don't count on getting wi-fi any time between 7:00 and 10:30 at night. There are so many people trying to connect that it is pretty much impossible.

Pros: Very friendly stuff, always helpful. Check in and check out was fast and without problems... there was big terrace with chairs and tables, that we really enjoy it. We slept in room with 33 beds and everything was good everyone behaved well! Good location! Good price!

Pros: The staff was always very nice, motivated and happy to help. Moreover, I like the way the hostel takes action against common hostel problems like bed bugs etc with adequate covers on the mattresses. Thumbs up! Didn't see that in many hostels ;) The hostel has a great atmosphere and its location is convenient as well :) My stay was amazing! Thank you, Rest Up Team!

The Rest Up London Hostel is known as one of the best and gauging from its outward appearance that would be easy to believe. The charming, brick front building with its terrace garden and wonderful location on the New Kent Road makes it an appealing spot. Just a short walk to Elephant & Castle tube station and 15 miles to Heathrow Airport, it is also just a mile from sites like the Tower of London, Parliament and Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. It is within the same area as the Imperial War Museum and London South Bank University, as well. A pre-WWI baroque building, it is a historic property and has been a hostel for more than 100 years. It features such amenities as a shared TV room, a beautiful terrace with covered tables and fun bean bag chairs. It has an onsite coffee shop and snack bar, there is free Wi-Fi in the public areas, a ticketing and tour desk, baggage storage option, laundry services (for a fee) and even some business services. Visitors can enjoy traditional breakfast each morning, pizza at night and healthier fare in the restaurant. They also offer group menus. The rooms include shared dorm rooms with options for four to a room or twenty beds in a dorm-style setting. The rooms are mixed gender, but there is a single four-bed female dorm. There are also twin and double rooms, and some even offer private baths at no cost. If an affordable and high-quality accommodation is the goal, but also one in one of the best spots in London, it will be hard to beat what the Rest Up London Hostel makes available to travelers of all kinds.
