Pros: The design of the hotel is so cool. I liked the self checkin and the design of the common areas. Having a 24/7 restaurant was really cool too. I was surprised by the size of the room as pictured don’t give it enough credit. You could control everything in the room via the iPad next to your bed! Really cool lights and moods! Amazing bed, really big nice windows with blinds and curtains you control from your bed. Very nice touches in the bedroom too. I’m definitely going back to this hotel next time I’m in London

Pros: The moment you arrive to CitizenM Shoreditch, you are greeted with a smile and allowed to check yourself in. The room is controlled with an IPad, from the lights, blinds, TV, AC, mood lighting, and basically everything else. The bed was huge and comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The location is great too, you have plenty of food options nearby and Liverpool station is a ten minute walk away.

The reception area is very casual at Citizen M Shoreditch and convenient to just meet up anytime, day & night ♡ but also good security ♡ Location ♡ It's very convenient for me to stay in Shoreditch. Lots place to have breakfast to dinner & drinks + shops & market. Bedding that used at the hotel is great ♡

Cons: It would’ve been nice if they offered room service, or a kettle in the room for a morning brew or a late night cup of tea. The washing basin was outside of the bathroom which can be a bit inconvenient for some ladies. Was ok for me as I was traveling alone. One side of the bed is by the wall, it didn’t bother me as I was traveling alone, but it would’ve been inconvenient if I needed to jump over someone to get out of it

Cons: The soundproofing was not as effective as they boast about. If you are happening to be staying on Saturday night do pack some foam earplugs, there is noise from a nearby nightclub going to be on till 6am.

Pros: When I checked in, the reception was very noisy. Thankfully no noise in the room However, I was told I had been upgraded but for some reason I was in a disabled room - awful. I accidentally turned on some alarms and the lighting was awful. When the security person came up he asked why I had been put in a disabled room - I didnt know why. Thankfully I was given a lovely room with no emergency alarms and the person showed me all the electrics I needed. It was late and I was tired. I'd had a long day and the last thing I needed was switching hotel rooms. I dont think the reception really thought about what they were doing. Which let you all down.

Pros: The quality of staff was a hit or miss. Overall, there were only two staff members who impressed me. The night concierge was incredibly attentive. Although a young man, he was clearly overqualified. The night manager was highly reasonable and particularly helpful when I confronted any problems with my stay. He had very good customer service skills.
Another nice element was the provision of fruit every evening. It was a unique and memorable touch. The variety included persimmons, bananas, apples, oranges, and plums. That was very nice.
Finally, the room offered outlets adapted for international travelers.

Cons: The negative element of the stay included the inattentiveness of most staff members. There was a lack of polished professionalism that is instrumental to a quality hotel. It felt like an disjointed operation.
As for house keeping, I was unimpressed. The bathroom was not well cleaned, and it appeared the floor towel was repeatedly unchanged.
Although the room was constructed with high-end technology, it was poorly integrated. The technology was not particularly easy to use and added little value. The television would not respond to the controller. Further, the television sat above the desk, making use of the desk awkward. Also, there was no light above the desk and no desk lamp.
Finally, both the pool and gym were inaccessible at night and early morning. This can be inconvenient for business travelers. Still, the pool was impressive.
Overall, I was disappointed and would recommend looking into other hotels, such as Apex (where I had a more pleasant stay during a prior visit).

Cons: It was particularly loud over the weekend, with DJ sets and crowds drinking/dancing - I stayed at the 2nd floor and could hear the music. Moreover, every time I went downstairs to eat I found that every chair was occupied by locals using their computers. Perhaps the hotel has a very friendly internet policy, but it felt a lot more like a ' SHARED OFFICE SPACE' then a Hotel lounge.

Cons: After checking out I found out that some how my bank card was used to book a break in Amsterdam online and because I had not used the card anywhere else in London it must have been done at the reception of the hotel. I was refunded the money back into m y account by my bank but felt upset that someone would do this. Been told that some hotel staff are taking photos of credit card details and then using them so please be careful

Cons: The television didn't work in our room. I had to leave my daughter alone in the room, to go to reception to highlight the issue (no one answered the telephone). The chap from reception did everything he could to help, but couldn't fix the tv. We ended up changing rooms (losing approx an hour of our evening). In the morning the queue on reception was enormous. When asked how our stay was, I explained the tv wasn't working & we were disappointed to move rooms. We received an apology and no other recomonpense. Maybe a complimentary drink would have been nice? We enjoyed the roof bar for a Sunday afternoon drink, but unfortunately the white wine was warm! Gave up highlighting issues at this point.

Cons: Overall the hotel was everything and more but when we arrived they had issues with their system and it took a long time for them to check us in. Eventually we asked if there was a temporary place to get ready in as we had dinner plan. We were then led to the spa to get ready from there and check in after our dinner. Due to their system issues, were missed our reservation and this was something I had arranged for best friends birthday.

Cons: Extremely disappointed I’d booked this hotel as a birthday treat for myself and it was a big deal as I was leaving my 3 month old for the first time to have some well deserved me time. Unfortunately I was so shocked at the number of service issues at this hotel that during checkout I decided to raise this, my comments were passed onto the operations manager (Jerome) who committed to looking into the issue and getting back to me. Despite me chasing twice I never received the feedback which I feel sums up the service at the hotel! - The Hair dryer in the room was broken and we had to call twice and wait 20 minutes for a new one - We’d booked the room for 3 people however there were only 2 of everything e.g. towels, mugs, robes etc and we had to ask for extras - There was no one at spa so we had to go behind the counter and look for clean towels, robes and slippers as we were told we didn’t need to take them from our room and unfortunately the steam room out of order which we were not told about at check in - My friend had bought in a birthday cake for me and she was told this would be left in the room however it was not there so when she went looking it seemed to have been “misplaced” - Breakfast the next day was an absolute disgrace (which we paid extra for) and so many other customers were complaining also. Hardly any food was brought out so during the whole time at breakfast there were no beans, eggs or orange juice

Cons: We stayed for 4 x days. The elevator worked intermittently during our entire stay but they did not place a board to prevent people from using it. When you use it you will just get stuck in the lift. Building is old and in desperate need of a facelift. Bed is so bouncy that it takes time to get used to when sleeping. Housekeeping not so good as they did not replace our coffee, milk and shower gel. Aircondition did not work.

Cons: The room was quite small and bathroom tiny, although clean. Facing the road so lots of traffic noise until late in the night. But it is London ! (So no need to complain). Rather cool reception at breakfast - the only dialogue was "room number ?" and then "self service" ! Choice of eggs seemed only to be scrambled. Large cobwebs above the cornice on the ceiling in reception and also behind the net curtains in the room.

Cons: We kept asking them to clean our room, and it was always sloppy. We asked for toilet paper and towels for 3 nights in a row, and they've left dirty mugs in the room to a point it was full with fruit flies. There is no phone in the room, so you need to go downstairs and ask for whatever you need every time.

Cons: Our room had a skylight as only window, which could be opened, but no way to blind it. So as soon as the sun rised, you got all the light in your face. Also, the room's door had a ventilation to the corridor, which allowed all the noise of the corridor to be clearly heard as well as letting the cold in. The squeaky wooden floors didn't help with the noise either. The breakfast was kind of poor and the space in the kitchen was spare. Last, a small shelf in the room would have been very useful.

Cons: The staff weren’t very approachable or friendly at all. They failed to communicate later updates with the water issues to the guest and left with scolding hot water for the night! The room was the smallest I’ve been in for a single room. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you want quiet and peaceful nights in as well as the walls are very thin and you can hear everything. I’d say the hotel was poorly built.

They offered us (after much insistence on our part for a solution) another room in an other hotel, which was absolutely filthy, noisy etc. they knew we were only staying one night so we were easy prey and no time to complain to the police etc.. be careful if you stay there.

Cons: There were lots of damp patches on the wall and rust visible in places. The night receptionist was pleasant. The morning receptionist was extremely curt. The drainage of the shower was so slow that the water filled up to my ankles within a minute and so with my hair already wet, I had to abandon washing my hair and quickly wash my body and get out as soon as possible. The water spilled out onto the bathroom floor when I exited the shower and I had to use towels etc to try to mop it up. Because of this I was unable to wash my hair or get a decent shower, this was very uncomfortable for me and I felt that my day had started badly and the feeling of not being properly showered stayed with me all day. When I told the receptionist, she just wrote it in a book but no apology or explanation was made. The shower head is too high and cannot be adjusted either. In addition, I note the floors are all hard so it's great for cleanliness but incredibly noisy. During the night I could hear people walking around constantly and in the morning the whole place was unbearablely noisy. Also walls are very thin and doors were slamming loudly continually.
