Pros: The location was excellent on Russell Square with a Cafe Nero and Pret a Manger next door. The breakfast was excellent and I would highly recommend adding that to your package. The bathrooms were some of the largest I have seen in Europe.
Cons: The staff at Hotel Russell did not measure up to the overall customer service I experienced in England as a whole. They are less than accommodating to guests who booked through discount websites and treat guests who booked directly with them better. The interior is very dated and needs renovation. My friends room on the first night had a very strong cleaning chemical odor. It was unbearable for them because they have some sensitivities. The hotel was unable to move them to another room and we ended up switching rooms with them. The wifi at this hotel is spotty at best. I would not refuse to stay at this hotel again but I would probably avoid it.

Pros: I have stayed at Hotel Russell now a number of times, both as a single traveler in a single room, a twin room with my mother, and a double room with my husband. All rooms were comfortable and spacious enough for our needs and comfort. Breakfasts are very good quality too! Staff polite and helpful and location brilliant.

Cons: Although my room charges were fully prepaid, the front desk clerk insistent on selling me breakfast, which I did not want, and in putting a 50 pound per day hold on my credit card, even though I said I was not going to use any of the hotel's restaurants. Difficult to get into the room because a large cupboard had been situated directly insider the door, almost blocking the passageway into and out of the room.

Pros: Excellent location with easy access to both Russell Square and Holborn Tube stations. Lots of very good local pubs and eateries and only minutes away from the British Museum. My room was fairly large by English standards with a very nice bathroom and very comfortable bed. An excellent breakfast with a good selection of both cooked and cold items was available and included in the room rate.
Cons: My stay was short so didn't note any problems whatsoever.

Pros: It is walking distance from the train station, great location. The staff is very helpful and very accommodating. The breakfast was the best I've had in Europe during my 3 month stay. The bathrooms are very modern and the whole hotel is very clean.
Cons: The hotel is great, but the beds are a little firm. There was one lady at the front desk that was polite but cold. Other than that everything was great.

Pros: The Pullman St Pancras had nice, high-end finishes in the bathroom and the bedroom, as well as in the lobby. People have complained about the wifi, but we actually had a pretty good experience with it; we were able to make a call using their wifi. All in all, a pretty comfortable experience.
Cons: This is in a pretty noisy part of London (Euston Rd), which means that there are a lot of pubs (which can get rowdy), cars honking horns, ambulance and police sirens, etc.; even though we were on the 12th floor, the noise from outside woke me up often during the night. Also, the bathroom door does not shut tightly; it leaves a gap between the leaves of the door, so any noises (etc.) from inside the bathroom are audible to your significant other in the rest of the room! Not particularly romantic! And the thermostat was difficult to program; quite a few times, it would show 22 degrees C and be programmed for 18, but would still put out warm air, which makes no sense.

Pros: Only stayed one night to catch the train to Heathrow the next day. Great location in proximity to Kings Cross St Pancras. Trendy lobby with DJ playing on Friday night, not too loud though. Beds were great, showers were nice, all modern decor. Morning breakfast buffet in the restaurant is great. Overall it's a nice clean place to stay for a night or two. I'd be back.

I paid for a private room. It is a hostel, not a hotel, so it is basic. But, the bedding was immaculately clean. The room was a decent size for just me, there was a big mirror and a comfy stool to sit on. There was a lockable cupboard to store luggage. You need your own lock. This was a two-bunk room and the second cupboard was missing it’s door. The shared bathroom was across the corridor and very clean. You are responsible for squeegeeing the floor after your shower. The location is steps from St. Pancras Station and the adjacent King’s Cross Station. Super convenient. The window in my room opened which I like, fresh air! But it also meant I heard a lot of noise, not from the hostel at all (very quiet) but from the surrounding very busy area. Sirens, traffic and shouting could be heard. I was exhausted from a long flight so not a problem. But if you need quiet to sleep this may not be the place.

Pros: We loved the look of the place and everyone was so professional and friendly. We had a wonderful Christmas brunch and had fun going in the spa pool. We had a drink in the bar. I'd highly recommend it. It's just beautiful there.

Cons: First room had extensive mold in bathroom. Bed linen was old and worn, hallways smelled of dampness. I have pixs which night manager was not interested in seeing and was VERY RUDE! No living person should have been put there!! Next room was ok. Breakfast was very limited and crowded and noisy. U had to pay extra £5 for eggs and bacon, usually cold. We were told hotel chain was biggest in Europe and I’ll add WORSE in Europe. Will never book hotel on internet again because I had no recourse to get my money back!!! I will only call hotel directly and pay AFTER my stay , so if I’m not happy I can go elsewhere. PS, hotel dining room resembled “Grade school cafeteria, hall pass was issued that you had to show to get in”

Pros: Spent about a week in London and stayed at the St. Giles. No regrets. Close to the West End action and much cheaper than some in the area. This hotel is also frequented by bus tours - Ugh. The room was good though small (almost Japanese hotel room small). We did not partake of their restaurants and went to a much, much better buffet down the street for breakfast. Concierge staff was very helpful

Pros: We went on a weekend away because he had tickets to see Harry Potter and the cursed child, which the hotel was a short five minute walk away which was great for me and my friend to get there as it was over 2 nights.
Cons: However we were never informed that there was to be building works happening throughout February. This resulted in there being no room for a reception desk and little to do in the hotel as everything was cordened off. As for the rooms, they were small and dated, they also didn't have much of a blind for the windows. As there has been a neon lit build finished across the street from the hotel, the room was lit up all night. To add to this there was a false fire alarm at 4am in the morning which no one came to inform us about but we could barely hear it from our room. The shower cubicle was really small with a really powerful shower that wasn't pleasant and to top everything we had a cockroach crawl into our room just before our departure that resided under our bed. All in all multiple things went wrong with our stay and I wouldn't recommend.

Pros: The atmosphere was amazing, the common areas were decorated impeccably, the staff were genuinely friendly, and the ground floor had enough chill out/get rowdy/eat food areas that a) you could always find a space suitable for your mood, and b) the rooms stayed quiet and peaceful. Also, the number of outlets was astounding, and the WiFi excellent, even though my room was on the fifth floor.
Cons: The toilets were backed up a few times. It was always fixed quickly, but the frequency of blockages was a little concerning.

Pros: The hostel was very clean. The bathrooms were cleaned every few hours. There was a nice mix of travelers,young and old,people travelling in groups and lone travelers. There were also young families and babies. Lots of people ,lots of activity. At night ,there was added security in the building. I was very happy with the Generator Hostel.
Cons: The mornings were rough .You had to time it right to get a sink in the bathroom. Everyone seemed to need the showers at the same time. You just have to try to avoid the busy times.
