I had breakfast twice, and was severely disappointed at the outrageous price for the poor, poor quality of every aspect of the food--coffee is burnt and thick like mud, toast burnt, side vegetables unbelievably expensive with NO quality. The fresh orange juice is good. And that's it.
Otherwise, the hotel is just wonderful.

Cons: At Reservation, called the 800 number. I was told they only had two suites available. No rooms. Two minutes later, I went on Kayak and booked two rooms with no issue.
Service was in no way exceptional. It was a little irritating that bell desk couldn't get cab.

Cons: My reservation was lost. I was lucky to get a room. I only was able to because I kept a copy of the confirmation email. The mini-bar charged me because I looked at the label of a bottle by removing it from the mini-bar. The hot water in the shower suddenly went tepid after 5 minutes - every single time! - and I had to crank it up to full to get back to a comfortable temperature. Everything was hideously expensive and taxed to death (and sales tax on the tax! But that's probably just CA, not the hotel). There was no complimentary wifi and they wanted I think $15 a day for wifi access. The TV-based access to the billing and related systems was extremely slow and cumbersome. I'm surprised they didn't charge for the air I breathed (but give it time, I'm sure they will start someday).

Cons: This was not really geared towards families- as a family of 5 we had to get two rooms and so were charged two lots of daily amenity fees. However the 3 School aged children were not able to benefit from any of the services provided- the morning coffee station didn’t include any hot chocolate or juice for kids and the evening drinks had no soft drink or snack options - only gin or wine. Kids aren’t permitted use the gym either and there’s no pool. Including breakfast or light snacks would be a suggested improvement if you’re going to charge families two sets of daily fees.

They have expresso machines in the rooms in place of coffee makers we found them difficult to get them to work.

Pros: Hotel Zelos is located on Market street and 4th. The entrance is located on 4th st. Make sure you aim for 4th st as there is no way to take a left on Market st. We had a great experience with the valet who parked our car in the hotel's private parking garage on the basement level for $55 a day. Check in was a breeze. There was only one elevator in operation which caused a bit of a wait, but nothing crazy. Our room was just as pictured. Our window looked out onto the quiet restaurant courtyard. This made us so happy because we were staying 2 nights and would need to sleep in every morning. Market and 4th are busy streets and would surely wake you up if your room overlooked them. The location couldn't be better. We were able to walk everywhere, including home from Chase center after Dead and CO NYE when there was not a taxi or uber to be found. We ate dinner at the Dirty Habit restaurant. The fare was good and the prices were fair. Loved the atmosphere and drinks. The hotel gives you $10 credit to the mini bar or restaurant so don't forget to use it, you paid for it. Overall we loved our New Years Eve stay at Zelos.

If I wasn’t pregnant we would hve definetly used them. Everything in the city was a quick walk or uber ride. Restaurant on the 5th floor was surprisingly great. Super great stay here. Almost didn’t want to write this review because I don’t want this hotel to get super busy and raise prices!

The dirty habit bar was a cool little spot for a drink before heading to our room. Would definitely recommend this hotel for people who want a clean, modern base to explore San Francisco. Cons: Our bathroom was smaller than pictured but functional. Unfortunately for us, housekeeping had not cleaned the toilet and there was white scumm all over the seat and dripping down the bowl as well as a dirty qtip in the bowl and urine on the floor. The shower had some hair stuck to the wall and the shower did not drain. We did not call anyone to fix the problem because of timing logistics. We did not want anyone in our room while we were out. I'm sure the hotel would have fixed these issues for us should we have complained. There is a large crack under the door that allowed for hallway sounds and room sounds to mingle. We solved this by stuffing it with robes. The curtains did a good job blacking out the room in the am but there was a small crack of light at the top.

Cons: Only two real complaints: 1-while I think the Dirty Habit restaurant has a warm and inviting, yet hip, atmosphere, the food is disappointing. I arrived late and hadn’t eaten, so popped-in there for a late dinner. Ended up ordering a burger (always my ‘last resort’ when nothing appeals on the menu) and it was meh...and tiny. 2-toilet ran..I had to jiggle and wiggle the handle forever to make it stop. Never reported it (my bad), but don’t housekeepers notice things like this?

Cons: The walls were extremely thin. The room next to us got a phone call at 11:30pm at night and I could clearly hear their conversation. The street below is also quite noisy with traffic, street performers etc and double glazing would have made all the difference. The hotel is in a good location to get to the main tourist areas but right on the edge of the tenderloin area so turns quite dirty very quickly one street up. Shower head is also a bit low if you're tall...which we are

Pros: I liked the location. The door man was helpful and he suggested he will try to get Alcatraz tour ticket charged 150$ per person.(we were 4 people so 600$ for us). I searched online and fined out it was 39.90$ per person. We almost paid 600$ for that.

Cons: This wasn’t an issue of the hotel, but on booking.com they advertised a deluxe suite with city views. After speaking with the lovely hotel staff they let us know that the only rooms with city views were the king size ones, no deluxe suite actually has city views at this hotel.

Pros: The service, the room set up, facilities, staff, and location... everything was A+. The room was very spacious with very cute furniture. The bathroom was clean and spacious. The staff were very friendly. Location of the hotel is right next to the Union Square. The gym had great equipment.

Pros: They left me with 5 big baggage and told me their policy is not to deliver the baggages to the room ! I don’t understand how come its. A 4 star hotel!! And it took us 45 mins to get our car from the valet!

Cons: No hair dryer in bathroom (didn't matter to me but it may be a surprise if you're counting on having one). Wouldn't mind a few extra places to hang clothes, towels, etc.

Cons: Our room was very noisy - noises from rooms next to us and above us plus noises from the hallway. Our bathroom light was on a motion detector (no light switch), which didn't always work correctly, so we were either caught in the dark while showering, or unable to turn it (or the ceiling fan connected to it) off when not in use.

Cons: In comparison to the one double bedroom, the two bedroom rooms were extremely depressing. They were located on the other side where barely any sunlight came in to the room. Wish it somehow had brighter lights in the room to make this better!

Cons: The room is way too small and nothing is special about this hotel And the price comparing to the service you get is a JOKE. Its actually a very old building and you can literally hear the rooms next you and people marching around as well!
