7,0 Good
Pros: Good bed. Nice staff. Clean rooms and stairs.
Cons: Not very good soundproof insulation: carpets and underlayers too thin. We could hear the neighbors walking...
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Room very clean, nice large beds, no bathtub but had a powerful shower. Much cheaper than other hotels nearer to the EIS where my kids participated a sports event. Only 5-10mins to drive to the venue very convenient.
Cons: No fridge in the room - would have been convenient to keep some milk&food for breakfast as there is no adjoining restaurant facility to the hotel. This is only an optional wish and no complaint.

Cons: No phone in room.

Cons: Cleaners were very noisy in the morning and even entered our room.
7,7 Good
Pros: Very clean and rooms did not smell damp like some hotels. Excellent hotel and withing distance to meadowhall.
7,7 Good
Pros: The hotel was great. It looked as though it had just been re decorated and was spotless. The power shower was fantastic, no complaints about the room at all. There was a carvery pub two minutes away which was excellent value for money. The leisure complex was great and because we stayed in the hotel we got two free games of bowling, saving nearly £20. We visited The Sheffield Arena on the Saturday night and Meadowhall on the sunday, both less than ten minutes away in the car and very straightforward. Only one fault with the whole stay was the fact children were not allowed ito the swimming pool after 2pm. Seeing as we did not check in until 2pm I thought this was unfair. Apart from that, great hotel, great stay.
Cons: The fact that children could not use the swimming pool after 2pm. We did not check in until 2pm so that seemed unfair.
7,7 Good
Pros: rooms comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Use of the facilities next door, free bowling.

7,0 Good
Pros: Wonderful greeting for our dog Jet, with treats for him.
Cons: The pool is more of a puddle, and quite highly chlorinated.
2,0 Mediocre
Pros: Being with family
Cons: Dirty hotel, way to busy for what the staff can handle. I asked politely if they could give the stairs a clean as they were dirty and this was ignored. My sister then had to walk through this in her dressing gown. Corridors on arrival full of dirty washing, rubbish. Not pleasant. Food was cold and vegetarian options not cooked through. Boiler broke and as a large party some rooms had no hot water. We had 8 rooms overall and spent lots of money overall. They have offered £15 refund and will not reply any more. We had food remnants on the curtain and the bath had the worst grime ever. Even the receptionist heaved when I showed her a photo. They also tried to charge for a guide dog. If your disabled there is a bath and not a wet room, also no plugs by the beds so if your dependent on CPAP your stuck. I have emailed the hotel and now typically no reply.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely pool and jacuzzi. Kids loved it.
6,0 Good
Pros: Pool and facility closed due to the Coronavirus which is understandable. we had to change rooms just because of the t.v. not working.
Cons: On arrival we went into the bar/restaurant where we ordered a drinks and food the bar was not busy only 3/4 couples. when the meals arrived one was burnt black so was returned only to arrive back to the table in a burnt state again this also was brought to the attention of the staff and a full refund was given out of the three couples that where sat next to us there orders were all wrong in some form. The staff and the hotel itself was fine but the food was diabolical.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff especially the lady who checked us in was an absolute delight!
Cons: Needed a plug next to my bed to charge my phone

Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
7,0 Good
Pros: Breakfast on the first morning was excellent but a bi t chaotic on the second morning. Although we arrived for breakfast 40 mins before the restaurant closed they had already cleared everything away and it seemed to be a bit of a chore for them to serve us. The 2 dinners we had were excellent and good value
Cons: There was an unpleasant smell from the drain in the shower room. the staff did offer to find another room but we were too tired after a long drive to change. If we were staying more than two nights we would have accepted the offer of a different room.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant place and brilliant staff.
Cons: Nothing
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to stay, the pub and accommodation buildings are gorgeous, traditional inn buildings, and the whole village was very attractive too, great for a walk around. Great location to walk to Wentworth Woodhouse. Wifi was good too.
Cons: The bed was very soft, just not my preference.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean friendly staff lovely breakfast
Cons: Problem getting a taxicab
5,0 Okay
Pros: Quiet Warm room plenty of hot water, helpful staff, and love Wentworth.
Cons: I lived nearby over 20 years ago and swear it still has the same carpet and seating, it looks run down, sticky, shabby and tired, the poor staff looked stressed and overworked but did their best, and still managed to serve a good pint of Old Peculiar. The room(No/3),was warm and the bed was comfy, but the toilet seat was hanging off, the towel rail fell off, and I balanced it back on, it has a slight ant infestation, and again the whole block looks neglected, dated, and tired. At £60 bed only, it was rubbish and all seems about profit above all else, I feel that the attitude is take it or leave it due to it being the only hotel in Wentworth, but I feel sad, disappointed and unimpressed.. It needs the board of directors to come and spend a night there!!!
7,0 Good
Pros: Price and proximity to pub. Village location. Friendly staff. Enjoyed our meal. I had a vegan pie.
Cons: We have stayed here quite a few times over the years. The room was cheap and available for us to visit my mother in law. A bit shabby now and bathroom needed a thorough clean. Shower head and under taps etc. Some viacal wouldn't go amiss.
7,5 Good
Pros: Very pleasant staff and amenities.
Cons: TV control unsatisfactory no control from bed requiring to be close to set to change programmes and volume settings.

3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing. Dirty, poor environment.
Cons: Worst place I have ever stayed. They did not clean room at all .. I was there four nights, and was given two towels for the hole duration, the rooms are in a different building then reception, even when calling over no one would answer. Wouldn't advise anyone to stay here.

5,0 Okay
Pros: Room was warm with easy to control heating. TV was good. Check in staff helpful & friendly.
Cons: Bed was rock hard. Room had recently been redecorated & the paint fumes were still very strong & caused us headaches. Very overpriced for what you get.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Honest explanation that the hotel was undergoing some refurbishment. Clean and tidy, good-sized room and bathroom.
Cons: Having helped my elderly mother in law negotiate 4 quite steep steps to reception the man on reception then told us we were in the annexe behind the main building and we would have to go back out and around as no way through the hotel. Kettle in room didn't work but reception wasn't manned when we came back so we couldn't do anything about it.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: ideal for rotherham town centre and football ground
6,0 Good
Pros: The breakfast had several choices and was good value.
Cons: There was a slight smell of old, stale smoke in the annex, which is where our room was located.
6,0 Good
Pros: Nice clean hotel and most of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Good food.
Cons: We stayed in the annex block on the ground floor. unfortunately the insulation between this and the upper floor is not very good and we could ha the people above quite easily.Had we been staying longer we would have asked for another room.

Pros: Large room, but lacking furniture.
Cons: Being charged £10 for room service. Having to pay in the room. Demands for cash only. Appalling service. Completely ruined romantic Sunday morning. Not necessary. Being forced to run down to bar for Ice bucket,or charged£5 to bring to room. Isn't the idea of hotel you serve guests? Not charge them for everything. Why weren't we told this at check-in when I enquired about room service? No furniture for 2 to eat breakfast in a double room.

Cons: Tired looking room in need of much renovation. Tatty carpet, mould in the shower, water which came out of the taps as brown!
8,2 Excellent
Pros: We came in the morning in a hurry to check bags and get out to the football game. Train had been a mishap in the morning, amongst other things on our time in Yorkshire (don't judge this hotel on the area, it's a really nice place.) The check-in process was great, they took our bags no problem and gave us keys for after 2 p.m. Then they called a cab for us. After two or three calls, and about 30 minutes, a cab still hadn't shown up. I was upset, but Sandeep, one of the employees of the Mercure, went out of his way to advocate for me. He personally walked me to the nearest taxi stand. When none showed up there, he called again and insisted they get someone out there in the next five minutes in no uncertain terms, taking down the registration number of the car that was supposed to show. This time the cab did arrive. If it were for his willingness to go above and beyond and make my problem, his problem, I wouldn't have made it to the game on time. It was fantastic customer service and it turned my mood around. The point is... this is one story of how professionally run this place is, in an area where not everything is very professional. Well worth your stay.

Pros: Friendly staff, couldn't do more for us, fab location and very comfy bed.

Pros: i made an error when booking which meant i booked a twin room for two nights, however the staff on duty on friday resolved this and gave us a double room which we were told we may have to move out of as hotel was fully booked saturday, however after a cancellation we were able to stay in our double room. THANKYOU. Also after our superb meal saturday i was asked to complete a questionnaire, which i commented on 3 no's light fittings with 6 lamps in each only 7 of the lamps were working and it made the dining room a bit dark, ALL the lamps were working at breakfast time. a BIG plus to the staff for taking notice.
Cons: without being too critical, i think a certain amount of upgrade would be necessary in near future as some of the fixtures were a little "tired/worn" and a few frayed carpets on landings.

Pros: The beds are really comfortable. Great nights sleep.
