New York hotels near August Wilson Theater

Pros: Location cannot be better, views as well. Room with all comforts, staff really kind and willing to help. Spyglass rooftop bar offers the best view of the Empire State

Pros: Nice big room and toilet for NYC standards. Room serviced twice daily Bed changed twice during our 1 week stay Nice toiletries gratius. Outside dining area clean.

Cons: Expensive food and drinks except for happy (4-7pm) hour. Outside seated area could have been kept more clean/brushed.

Pros: the staff very well mannered professional in dealing with customers.. greeting you in and out all the time

Cons: Rooms are quite cozy. I wished it was explained that the classic king room varied in size. Also having music play in the hallway late at night was disrupted to sleep since the walls are thin.

Cons: The size of our room. There was only one foot of walking space between the bed and the three walls surrounding. Unbelievable as it sounds, because we arrived at 1:00 AM we took it for one night, but couldn't get up sooner to get out of this place. In the morning we inquired if they could give us a larger room. They, at front desk told us that all the rooms were more or less the same!

Cons: Room is a little cramped and the AC is difficult to regulate. Rooms are also not very soundproof so we kept getring woken up by other guests entering and exiting their rooms.

Cons: Lying about property details on the phone prior to booking about essentials like black out curtains which was a precondition for us to make the booking. Staff did not want to remedy, manager on duty being rude and having way too much attitude, we suggested solutions like additional curtains but they just offered us to cut short the stay and leave (we did get refund upon insisting though) We felt we could have found a solution but the manager (Victoria I think her name was) gave us such attitude and in an absolutely unacceptable way that we didn’t have a choice but leave. Paulina at check in was very friendly though but didn’t have the power to resolve. The room condition was way below expectations and pictures are photo shopped, covering up run down room condition. AC was making loud funky sounds, upon check in we waited an hour for it to be fixed and dealt with the maintenance guy who was friendly though (after a 15h flight it was very tiring regardless and having to leave and look for a new hotel unshowered and tired and my wife pregnant was really not cool) Kimpton Not again for us for sure

Pros: Happy hour (free wine), also free bike rental. Got a room on the 21st floor looking at the empire state tower.

Cons: Young lady at check in was not very professional... a bit snobby when answering questions, even as I was being polite and jovial... bad day or not, it's all about service and experience... Hope it improves or was a one time occurrence.

Pros: The hotel gave us some complimentary champagne, fruit, cupcakes and water. King room and particularly the bathroom were spacious. West facing room could see the sun setting although not the nicest skyline view. Infused water available in foyer, and coffee in the morning. Also offered a drink hour in the evening.

Cons: Some areas of the room were dated. No free water bottles (aside from what was gifted later in the evening with the champagne and food). Our view wasn’t the greatest looking out to a backstreet, although my sisters upgraded room looked out 6th Avenue which was much better). Front desk could be more warm and welcoming.

Pros: It was my girlfriend and I’s anniversary, and we were greeted with champagne on ice and cupcakes by melissa in a beautiful display. We also needed some unusual things sent to the room but they were 100% accomodating. Best hotel service I’ve ever received hands down!

Cons: The only thing that could’ve been better was the wifi being free and maybe the shower/bath having some sort of view

Pros: Clean, roomy bathroom, very helpful and friendly staff and good location

Cons: No kettle or coffee machine in the room and none available in the reception except at breakfast. Tea/coffee from the bar was expensive so we went over the road to a coffee shop to get drinks. When most hotels now provide these facilities for free in the room or reception this seemed a little behind the times.

Pros: This was one of the better stays i've ever had in NYC. The location was great, the staff was great and we upgraded to a King Room with a view and it was worth every penny and more! I will be staying here again and would recommend to anyone.

Cons: Although I know parking isn't cheap, it's one thing I wish was included in the cost of staying. However their pricing was in line with close by parking spots.

Pros: Proximity to great attractions; friendly staff; very accommodating staff..you only needed to ask for what you wanted and they were very accommodating. Great view from room.

Pros: Friendly very helpful staff, rooftop pool was a big plus as we visited in August so was hot! Very relaxing to spend a few hours by the pool before heading out to explore NYC. Great location for exploring major sites - most are walking distance away.

Cons: Didn’t know about facilities charge until check out and that it included 10 dollar mini bar credit! It was too late for us to use on checkout!

Cons: I thought the front of the hotel looked horrible and I was never made aware prior to my stay. I would have chosen a nicer looking place for over $600 for 2 nights. Plus the wall paper was hanging in the bathroom. I stayed in a double room with 4 people and the room was small and there was not enough of anything for 4 people. You would think they could at least do that. Then when I went to leave I was told I had a $140.00 garage parking fee to pay that was never told to me. I believe I read online that parking was available but never mentioned a few. I was very disappointed with my stay and don't think I will return. The only thing that was told would be done was a credit for my services fees the manager provided but waiting for that refund stil. I hope something is done to compensate me. I still will pay $60 for parking I was under the impression was free.

Pros: The location is convenient. The breakfast was very good.

Cons: I had flight delays and was supposed to arrive around 3p-4p. I ended up not getting in until 5am. I called several times to see what my options were and the staff was rude and said I could give up my room of 4 nights or pay for the night I wasn’t actually there. Ok fine. I’ll pay for 4 full nights. When I arrived I was given a room that had mold growing on the ceiling above the bed. I requested another room. I was given a temporary room and told that my room with two double beds would be reassigned to me the next day. I went down at 10am and made sure that it’s was known what my room situation was and that I would be back in the afternoon to be given keys to my new room. Came back at 4:30pm and was told that no room was approved for me because I booked through booking.com. I had to have a long conversation with the Assistant Manager who told me I booked an ADA room and I couldn’t just ask for a two double bed room because I messed up. I told her I didn’t that I was given an ADA room because of mold on the ceiling in the room assigned to me when I arrived. I had to show my booking reservations to show I was not lying about my reservation. I finally got a room and was told they would waive the $35 daily service fee that covers Wifi, etc. Well good thing we could never even get on the WiFi because it was so bad. The new room I was assigned to had mold all over the bathroom. See pictures below. After so much trouble and poor service previously in sucked it up and didn’t complain. When you stay at a hotel such as the Crown Plaza it is known for its prestige and cleanliness. I’m paying $1800 for 4 nights for a dirty room with mold. I will never stay at this hotel again. I’ve stayed at LaQuintas that we’re nicer than this and more than half the cost. Don’t pay for a room with a view because the hotel really doesn’t have a direct view of Times Square. You have to lean over and look way down the street to actually see Times Square.

Cons: The second night key card didn't work, waited in a long line to get it re-activated. The clerk Frank's customer service was really bad. He was using his index figer at me, instead of explaining the situation.

Cons: They didn't want to honor the military rate. It is the first time it has happened. I booked the reservation on-line but in all hotels they don't have any problem adjusting it once you check in. Very unfortunate....I wont come again if they dont solve this for this occassion

Cons: The amount of tax that is added onto the hotel bill. I’m sure this is the same for any New York Hotel. Make sure when you book that all taxes are included.

Pros: Boutique style property adjacent to hustle and bustle of Times Square. Please note that showers are private but the room was studio style and a nice heavy retractable curtain separates shower. Well dine but If you require a solid wall and door you want to ask front desk. Not an issue for my daughter and myself. Walking distance to Rockefeller Square. Staff was very friendly. Just half a block to Times Square bleachers.

Cons: My only wish was that when I asked for a cab at the door that they would actively call one rather wait for one to pass by. We were dressed and in heels for Fashion Show and asking us to walk to corner for better odds of hailing cab was odd to me. I will say that they were very helpful scheduling a Car on our departure day to LGA.

Pros: The location was amazing. Only 1 minute walk from Time Square and Broadway. The room was clean and bed was comfortable.

Cons: We arrived a bit earlier (11:00 AM). We couldn’t get into the room before 2:30 PM, where we had to wait for hours in the lobby before we could get a shower after travelling more than 24 hours. If you see people waiting, make a customer friendly effort (or exception) to clean and prepare our room before others that will check in later.

Pros: The room was small, quiet and comfortable. We did not discover the roof-top restaurant--The Haven--until our last day. Fantastic food, drinks, music, and view--and although we lingered perhaps too long on a sunny Sunday afternoon, the staff and service were wonderful. And the parking (garage on 46th street, a 5 minute walk) was the fairest price we've experienced in NYC--ever.

Pros: The breakfast was so repetitive. I am not sure what percentage of the rate goes to breakfast but I will not pay for it in the future.

Cons: Our sink could have been cleaner. There were drops of liquid make up. The sink is white. It makes you wonder what else was missed.

Cons: This is not a 5 but a 3 star hotel. Breakfast was very simple and the rooms were old, dusty and there was no natural light coming in. The ventilation was also very loud.

Pros: - Staff is friendly and helpful. Offered a room discount following the complaint about the cleanness of the room and finding my pyjama on the floor. - Great location next to Times Square with good metro connections in proximity.

Cons: - Toilet was dirty on arrival. After having notified the reception and they said they sent someone to clean, no-one seems to have checked as the toilet was still dirty. - The other day, I found my pyjama in the corner of the room on the floor. - Very small windows, view was facing directly another building, very little day light came into the room. - Room furniture seems a bit outdated/used. - Breakfast is very simple and repetitive. One cereal, toast, croissant, plain omelette and sausages...everyday. - Room somewhat noisy with noise coming from corridor and other rooms.

Pros: Location and staff.

Pros: The location is unbeatable for a trip to see shows on Broadway! You walk out of the door and are in the heart of Times Square. The staff were unbelievably helpful and welcoming. The entire experience was exactly what I wanted when taking my sisters and niece to NYC for the first time.

Pros: It was clean and convenient.

Cons: Rooms were too small for the price and I got a deal. Elevators are small slow and dark. Staff is confused and too slow.

Pros: The location is great and the staff are very helpful and kind.
