New York hotels in Chinatown

Pros: Great spot, we love staying the Bowery and Chinatown area, subway nearby so easy to access the rest of Manhattan. Clean, comfortable and trendy hotel.

Pros: Hotel rooms very funky, roomy and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful

Pros: The view from the rooftop Is amazing and morning coffe there is an extra and to already great rooms:) rooms are super clean, wi-fi works perfect, pelows are amazing and materace also super comfy.

Cons: For this price should be a water In the room and this is only thing we might see as a minus as it oś just great boutique hotel:)

Cons: The rooftop terrasse was hired for private parties every evening, so unavailable for hotel guests. and rather noisy as our rooms were close underneath.

Pros: Very well appointed room. Location. Complimentary coffee on the roof terrace! Stunning views.

Cons: Unfortunately, we couldn't pay using a Visa currency card.

Pros: Good breakfast, but expensive. Spectacular view of the skyline.

Cons: Too expensive breakfast. Too long and expensive drive from the AirPort. Terrible traffic.

Pros: Superb rooftop bar and excellent staff

Pros: The pillows!! First time I ever not use my own pillow. The lobby and rooms are beautiful. The view from the large multiple windows in the room was amazing. And of course, easy access to coffee in the morning was great while getting ready. Loved the location.

Cons: The only small thing we didn’t love is that the breakfast was a continental breakfast but quite expensive. A full breakfast or a more reasonably priced continental breakfast would have been fantastic. However, this really wasn’t a big deal as it made us discover great restaurants around! Plus, we loved the complimentary coffee on the rooftop.

Pros: We could meet friendly and nice stuffs. The room was always clean. And we could enjoy playing music in pretty little sound though. We never worried about the noise.

Cons: The location was not similar with what I imagined. What I thiught about Chinatown was the chinatown in seattle, but that was a smelly town. We also surprised about the drill of firealart.

Pros: The location was fantastic for downtown Manhattan

Cons: A continental breakfast would have been nice. There is no coffee/t4ea in the room so you have to go to the top for it.

Cons: Advertised roof bar -- but the roof bar was unavailable for the entire length of our stay.

Pros: Elevator & private bathroom for the neighborhood & price hard to beat. Italian sheets & courteous staff earned extra stars. Great bathroom products.

Cons: Noisy neighbor situation, but that was investigated quickly by staff, with reassurances. 24-hour subway on Manhattan Bridge, but that was barely noticeable with double windows & blackout curtains.

Pros: Fabulous staff and excellent location.

Pros: Great location. It's Chinatown. However, very close to Little Italy and SOHO. Great spot from where you can walk easily to both the Financial District and SOHO. Even Chelsea (The High Line) is walking distance! The rooms are small, but functional and comfortable.

Cons: Small rooms. A bit noise during the night of The Williamsburg Bridge

Cons: It has no air condicioned, no fresh air, so the room was too warm because we could not open the window, because the noise

Pros: Good location! You stay in Chinatown and in 20 minutes walking distance you are at the Brooklyn Bridge and in the Financial District. In 10 minutes you are in Little Italy. Our view was the Manhattan Bridge and the One world Observatory. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The rooms were clean and the beds slept great. The first room was a bit small, but the second room had enough space. It's not necessary to sleep in the area of Times Square/ Empire State Building when you're in NYC. This hotel provides you a good location for a fair price. There are metro stations nearby. When you don't mind walking, you are 1 hour at the Empire State Building.

Cons: The way we were received upon signing in. The size of the room. The sound insulation of the room. The hotel's parking accomodation. Upon signing in we were unpleasantly surprised that we had to pay 100 dollar extra (or provide a creditcard guarantee) to be able to use our reservation for which we already paid the full price three months ago. Your booking.com website does not give any indication that such a specific additional condition could be expected. (We never had a similar experience in the over 15 years we have been using booking.com.) Both men at the reception desk had no understanding for our surprise and indignation. The parking accomodation which to hotel said they could provide was nothing more than showing the way to a nearby parking garage. There we had to leave the car with the keys in it. The parking personnel were used to showing all cars around to be able to push as many cars as possible in the available space. No document or paper was provided to guarantee the owner of the car that the garage would take full responsibility for the car while it was being held there. For foreigners who usually rent a car and have to sign which one of two drivers will be the only ones driving, this is an impossible proposition. All rooms of the hotel are facing the streets (normal), the subway tracks almost 3 floors above street level, and the road (with a lot of lorry traffic) almost 6 floors above street level. Such a situation requires excellent sound insulation of the windows. The sound insulation was below standards. Worse: the air conditioning and ventilation was not sufficient. Last but not least: the price of this hotel is between 30 to 50 % higher than comparable hotels in the immediate vicinity that lack the shortcomings we experienced.

Pros: Rooms are bigger than most hotels in NYC. Staff is great and friendly. Only hotel I go to when I go to NYC. Located near MTA locations for different line. Just south of SOHO so no SOHO prices. Great food within walking distance.

Pros: The bed was very comfy. Rooms were very clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the location was fantastic.

Pros: We couldn’t have picked a better location at the Leon Hotel! Easy access to Manhattan and Brooklyn via subway and a lovely walk down to the river under the Brooklyn Bridge. The room was clean and perfect for what we needed. The bed made it hard to get out in the morning and the shower facilities were spot on. The staff were absolutely amazing. When we arrived we had questions about how to get around and the lady at the desk was really helpful. On our last day, our precooked taxi didn’t turn up and the receptionist quickly organised us another so we made it to the airport in time. So grateful - thank you.

Pros: Location was very good and near the subway. It's an excellent option for the ones that like to be visiting the city the whole day and come back to a comfortable, big clean room and bath.

Pros: Spacious room. Comfy beds. Good location - near subway stations and plenty of diners around. Good WiFi. Great view from the window on Manhattan bridge. Quiet at nights despite heavy traffic from the bridge. Coffee machine in the room.

Cons: Cleaning was really bad - it looks like they changed bed lignings but did not touch the floor. On our last evening we found aunts around some small pieces of food, not necessarily ours.

Pros: Beds very comfy. Bathroom clean. Overhead shower powerful. Thick fluffy towels. Good view. Staff helpful. Wifi very good contrary to previous reviews. Bottled water supplied every day. No food supplied but a great little restaurant nearby called Two Bridges which served a good breakfast and reasonably priced.

Cons: Large sticky stain on carpet which looked old and in need of a deep clean or replacing. Furniture old but serves its purpose. Would prefer a kettle to a tea/coffee making machine. No shower gel supplied, only shampoo/conditioner and body lotion.

Cons: The room keys did not work so every time you left you had to have someone bring you back into your room. Even if you decided to go out to get ice downstairs or water. It was inconvenient. Also it was not clean.

Pros: Despite few dents and scratches, what you get more or less matches what you see in the pictures. And it all seems all right. Calling the hotel a design hotel is a bit of an overstatement though. I'd rather call it a value hotel for a reasonable price.

Cons: Although the hotel itself is decent enough and more or less matches the expectations, the neighborhood is far from perfect. Busy enough, shabby and occasionally smelly. If you know what to expect from the Chinatown - you'll be ok with that, for those lacking relevant experience, I'd say don't have huge expectations.

Pros: Location is great, near China town and easy to get to the center of the city. Personnel was helpful Window view on the bridge is breathtaking

Cons: The hotel needs to be renovated and inspected immediately.

Pros: The rates were very reasonable and the location was excellent for doing business in the Financial District.

Cons: The room was a 4th floor walk up and the initial room did not have a functioning security lock, it was located next to the fire escape with the door open and the window had been smashed and could not close. I could not believe it! They changed the room.

Cons: The room was 6ft by 8ft. No bathroom..no closet. Was dirty. walls needed paint years ago. The hotel stinks from I don't knwo what? We left 5 minutes after checking in. I gave the key back to the front desk. It was the worst room you could imagine.

Cons: Room was extremely small with no closet. No elevators, you have to carry your heavy baggage up the numerous stairs. Roof was just a bunch of cartons or cardboards and you could actually see through it. My friend saw a mouse in the bathroom. And the worst thing - walls are made of kind of thicker paper, so you can hear all the noises. During our stay we had the worst neighbours ever, making noise at 1am-3am, laughing, yelling, loud TV and the staff didnt do absolutely nothing about it!!!!!

Cons: Room not made up on arrival Alternative room given dirty. Very small. No window. No remote control for TV. No topsheet. Only counterpain, which appeared dirty. Footprints on floor. Obviously not cleaned to satisfactory standard. No elevator. Appeared to have very unsavoury clientele. Relieved to have checked out unscathed. Staff on duty unhelpful.

Pros: Great location some staff great others rude

Cons: It’s occupied by mostly the locals crack heads drunks etc more of a shelter than a hotel won’t be ever staying here again and this was my 3rd stay here worst 10 nights ever
