Later came back to tell me that I should remember for future reference that what was printed on the menu was actually wrong and what she told me was right!

Strange inventory: No hooks to hang coats etc. Only one shelf for shirts in the wardrobe, no other furniture witgh drawers (underware etc.) half of the wardrobe full of ironong board. No hooks to hang bathrobe and bigger towels in the bathroom. small selection at breakfast, every day the same. Loud music allready at breakfast. No bowls for yoghurt and esreal to mix, except small plastic cups. All breakfast cups, spoons etc. plastic (lots of vaste) hardly any tables to eat breakfast (sofas. lounge chairs etc.) Over all feeling like a grown up youth hostel

Pros: We stayed there 5 days after it opened, the rooms were clean, the lobby was nice, and posh. The beds were very comfortable and the room has Bluetooth Bose speakers as well as smart TVs.
Cons: They offer room service, but it's from the restaurant next door called Back Deck and the food wasn't just sub-par, it was bad. I ordered a burger that was burnt, it says it comes with french fries but it comes with dry, tasteless, potato wedges. We had our room upgraded to an executive suite, and it was still incredibly small. The staff is new and it is very obvious when you check in. They couldn't find where the card keys were or how to activate them which I would expect to be hotel staff 101. For as nice as the hotel is, there's a definitely a lack of professionalism in the lobby staff. And for whoever posted that there's a welcoming bar in the lobby, it hasn't even been opened yet, so....

Pros: The Godfrey is very Modern, ideally located and the staff is super friendly. ( Except for the manager on duty when I checked in.)
Cons: Booked a two bedroom with a third party site,didn't have that option so I called up the hotel to see if there was an option. Was told to just mark in underspecial request and they would have it for me. When I checked in was given a small King size room and says that's what we booked. Told the manager who talked to us what happened and she says we never made the request. I pulled up the reservation on myphone and showed her the request, then she says its first come first serve basis. Only room left for the night was a $80 upgrade was a four class upgrade to a suite which was much bigger and had two TVs, so I took it, had no other option. Walked into the room and if that was a four class upgrade I would hate to see a regular room. Room was very small, only one TV. Don't get me wrong, hotel was very nice. Big screen TV,nice showers and towels, but felt very very very cheated. Along with the $52 for parking it was like spending $600 a night for a small room.......Really??

Pros: Location was outstanding. The interior of the hotel was impeccable - obviously new. The bed was probably the most luxurious of any hotel bed I have slept in. Bose Bluetooth speaker provided ambiance to the room. Continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise.

Pros: Great ,location, layout, quality, and service. Our second stay here and we remain fans of this newer downtown hotel. Comfortable beds, quality fixture, terrific, huge Tv, fast wifi. Haven't tried the food. The bar was nice.

Pros: The hotel is super clean with without a doubt the most comfortable beds I have ever experienced.it is almost on the freedom trail and so close to the common it is in easy walk of Quincey market and both cheers pubs and all tourist stops are easily assessable by one of the tour bus at bottom of market .worth every penny

The tv was great- there was a fridge which came in handy when we had left over food. The in room keurig and travel cup was super convenient

Cons: We booked three rooms at this hotel because there were 6 of us and we all booked the same type of room but they tried giving one couple in our party a smaller room, but they did fix it so that was good. Pros: The location was excellent - just a short walk from Boston Commons, Copley Square, the Green and Orange T lines and commuter lines, and several great restaurants. The room was cozy and provided the necessary amenities and the bed was very comfortable. Heather the concierge went above and beyond our expectations in handling our requests and helping out with some post-Boston Marathon logistics. All of the staff from check-in to the housekeeping staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel displayed the charm of a historical building but with all of the necessary modern conveniences.
Cons: The elevators were a bit small and we had to pass one up at times when there were more than a couple of people waiting or when they were full. The lobby was a bit small and was a bit of a bottleneck during and after check-in. The Precinct bar had a good energy and good drink selection but the food and desserts were just okay (we did not get a chance to try the restaurant). We wish there was a pool or hot tub, which would have been perfect for post-race recovery.

Pros: Stayed here twice. Both for location. Room rates are pricey but you are in the midst of downtown Boston. The in-house restaurant was serving a $20 lobster dinner special which was fantastic. Valet parking is easy and staff is very courteous. There is an extra charge for valet at $49. Again very pricey but if you are staying for a few days it evens out. The room was a standard king that was comfortable, clean and spacious enough for two. We were provided a mini fridg gratis. The usual outrageously overpriced mini bar is present along with bottled water priced at the level of alcohol. Several newspapers are available free.
Cons: Apparently the hotel is undergoing updates to its TV and wifi system. That's not a problem but there was no information provided at check in that it was happening. That is a problem. The TV acted up at start up and the wifi was cantankerous. Booting you off and causing you to sign in again and again. Quite slow also.

Pros: Great location across from Faneuil Hall, just a couple of blocks from the water front, the North End and a T stop. I like the excellent morning coffee available for free in the lobby. The Keurig machine and K-cups in the room. The free daily newspapers in the lobby from four major newspapers. I liked the free late afternoon leomanade in the lobby. The restaurant has some excellent deals buck a shuck oysters from 4:30-:6:30 everyday. The $20 New England Lobster Meal that included; Corn on the cob, seafood chowder, a lobster and more. The restaurant had el fresco dining as well as a wall of windows on North Street right across from Faneuil Hall. The lobby was beautiful and very inviting. They even had a game section on the bookshelves for kids and families. The portico was very unique and mostly sheltered. The staff was very polite and helpful. The view from the rooms with the little balconies was a beautiful touch. The wall of windows in your room was wonderful. The late check out noon, the fact that they would store your bags in a locked room with a video monitor and would tagbyour bags they were holding like you were boarding a plane.
Cons: Just a couple small things would be nice: more towel racks to hang towels in the bathroom and a refrigerator other than a completely full mini bar refrigerator with items for sale.

Pros: Regulars at their restaurant, our first stay was all we needed. Handsome, friendly, warm lobby area; helpful, attentive staff. The in-hotel restaurant is actually very good -- and has a great bar area. The staff that delivers items to rooms are very friendly, speedy folk.
Cons: Hotel is under renovation in part, so there are inconveniences until completion early next spring. When we were there, some desk staff are "in training" and not exactly use to speaking in English (!). The door-staff/valets are very helpful.

Pros: Arrived in Boston just in time for a heavy snowfall accompanied with a vicious wind. Being from snowy Colorado I was well aware of fast changing weather conditions. The Westin staff were also aware and took on the opportunity to show off their talent. Pros: The front staff and manager were extremely accomodating after having a 2 hour tiff with the booking company I used (Get a Room, you were terrible). The room was clean and contemporary which me and my guests enjoyed. For the price, it was reasonable due to the location right next to the commons and for a saturday night in Boston. Wifi was free and they had speakers to hook up an iPad to play music.
Cons: Parking was $50 for valet. ~$40 in the surrounding parking lots for overnight.

Pros: I love the convenience, it is by far the most convenient hotel in Boston, it has a T stop in walking distance, it has a shaws right across the street, it has a connecting tunnel to shopping malls, has great bars and restaurants inside, and connected to the convention center as well as the sheraton where my friends were staying. the beds were so comfy. the pool and hot tub were well maintained especially considering the amount of people. The other thing I loved was the doormen they were amazing at helping me with my very heavy cumbersome bag and getting me a taxi I loved their manners!
Cons: When I first arrived to check in the person checking me in said I had two reservations, for two rooms, one paid for one not. I was pretty freaked when I heard this because they asked me to pay again at the desk. I contacted Kayak and according to the nice lady from the company she took care of everything and she did it was not on my bill. My complaint is that it shouldnt have been an issue to begin with, how stupid was the guy at the front desk? Kayak has been good to me with reservations why was that an issue? I actually dont understand how that would have even happened to begin with. My other complaint is even though I KNOW there were several conventions in town that weekend, I was really upset that my friends at the Sheraton got to have an extended check out till 2pm when I KNOW almost EVERY Marriott I have stayed at before has extended check out, the book says they offered it and the lady on the phone said they did NOT offer it specifically because of the convention. I don't see it as far if a hotel attached to the same convention center with the same amount of people could have it and I could not. Especially since the Marriott was a far nicer establishment the hotel room I stayed in and hotel in general was far better kept and polished then the Sheraton. So that was my only true disappointment. Especially since I did not have to check out, I was all set and would just leave. I understand as my mother used to work for Marriott that the maids have to come in and clean asap before new people check in around 4. But still, that just...was odd. In a hotel that large usually they have maids for a lot longer so, I guess I am just missing something.

Pros: Can't argue with the location. We were able to walk inside the hotel to the mall across the bridge and right into the MBTA station without even walking outside! A plus for Boston winters! The Champions restaurant in the hotel is a little pricey for our tastes, but the food was delicious and the staff was very attentive. We frequently asked the staff in the lobby places to eat and how to get places, etc and each time we were met with a friendly face and knowledgeable information. We were able to even check out using our TV, which made our rushed exit so easy! Our room was also cleaned by ~10:30am (one day we went to breakfast and came back around ~10:30 and it was already done). People on this website also complained about the elevators being slow - we didn't experience that. We stayed on the 26th floor. There were elevators 1-27 and other ones that went to the higher floors which we didnt use, but didn't see people waiting around for them either.
Cons: There was an extremely faint electronic beeping noise that me and my husband heard every night falling asleep; nothing that prohibited us from falling asleep, but I will say that I noticed it each night as I was falling asleep. A little pricey, but warranted given the location; we also didn't pay for parking as we had a family member with a free garage spot at work across town.

Cons: I was very upset with the fact that my room had no internet access other than paying $13 to $17 a day. I am sure when I made my reservation through Kayak that in the description of the room it read that internet access was included. I called the concierge desk but they were of no help to me. As nice as my stay was, I would not stay at this hotel again nor would I recommend it. The elevators were a mess during my stay too. Everyone staying there was upset and complaining about the incredibly long wait times.

Shocking at a so-called 4-star hotel. 2) Air conditioners that are so loud it sounded like we had a 747 revving outside our room. We couldn't adjust the AC except to two temperatures: 68 and 74. 3) No mirror in the room. 4) No refrigerator or mini-bar in the room. 5) No blow dryer. 6) Waited 15 minutes for an elevator, then couldn't get on it was so crowded. 7) Rude, arrogant staff except for Serena, and the day GM, who tried to help but wasn't around to do much until it was too late. Don't stay here. There is so much better around!

Pros: I really loved the hotel's attention to detail and the staff's offering of sparkling wine. Traveling is not easy and a little stem of bubbly helps ease the burden! The decor was nice and the staff was friendly, even the maid service was kind and funny. I wasn't totally enthralled with the thermostat in our room, but that could be completely isolated. I enjoyed my stay and I'd definitely book here again. For the price, I was very satisfied.

The welcome from reception was friendly and professional, and the ice cool drinks we were offered on arrival were gratefully accepted. The food in the Rustic Kitchen was delicious, and breakfast in the Atrium was cooked to order. The pool was good and both it and the surrounding area were very clean. If I were to return to Boston, I would certainly go back to The Revere. I loved the decor in thee reception area and public rooms.

Pros: We stayed at the Revere for first night Boston 2015. We arrived at noon to valet the vehicle and have the front desk hold our luggae until our room was available. Come to find out they had a room readily available and we didnt have to wait until 3 or 4 which was the usual check in time. Scored big points with that type of service. The young woman at the front desk was very professional and helpful and gave us a map of boston for our new years adventure. We didnt spend much time in the hotel as it was new years. The room was very modern and hip and super clean. The beds were comfortable and the best part was we were able to view the boston harbor fireworks from our hotel balcony at midnight! Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the city for a night or a few days- location is great and a place called Mike and Pattys is right around the corner with awesome breakfast sandwiches. Glad we chose the Revere!

Had there not been any of the issues, this would've been a great stay, I just don't know why there were so many missteps. It was a good stay, if you look at room size, bed comfort, bathroom size and comfort (just don't expect privacy; everyone will know your business in there!), friendliness, location. This should be a phenomenal stay. It has all the makings for it. It must've been a full moon or something that weekend.
Cons: Was promised champagne and strawberries the first evening, but it didn't come. The next day, the room wasn't cleaned when we arrived back at 11pm, so called to have at least the bed made and fresh towels (they offered a discount on an additional night, which was accepted, though didn't go smoothly at final check out for some reason); also mentioned the missing champagne and strawberries, was told they'd be there the next night, but again no champagne or strawberries when we returned. Ever. Hallway was meeting central at 3am for drunken shenanigans by other guests. Finally, on the fourth day, after returning to the hotel after a long day, the wireless entry failed, so we had to wait to be let into the room. To the front desk's credit, they were going to upgrade us for free on the last night for the inconvenience, but one of us needed to get back into the room because they were flying out in two hours, so that wouldn't work. Was promised an email accounting, even gave email address and was promised in 5-10min; it's now over twelve hours later, and still no receipt in my inbox or spam/junk folder.

I stayed here specifically to watch the series and to find that "no, we don't have that, just a few channels" was just aggravating. The front desk also told me you also have no movies in the room, "we have HBO but we can't tell you what is on it" and to have absolutely NO TV program guide, either in the room or at the desk is indefensible. I have had better at Red Roof Inn and Super 8's on the road. I urge others to find another hotel, despite the convenience...which is suspect as well. The shuttle took almost 30 minutes to get to the airport folks, due to traffic.

He even offered to get Guinness on tap from the front bar the Last Hurray. Rooms were clean and they were able to accommodate us with a better view. Bed is comfortable and linens are nice thread count. Decor is classic, wood paneled, gold, red and mustard yellow-- and reminded us of Stephen King's The Shining (where the film was made).

Pros: So there I was enjoying a good week getaway with my wife; enjoying Thai-Food, Italian Food, Boba tea, whiskey, wine, craft beers and afternoon rooftop dinners with friends. It's amazing how quickly the human body could be fine then go straight into needing an exorcism. So like I was saying, I was having fun with friends when all of a sudden it hit me in the middle of playing a board game. I suddenly ended my turn and ran to the bathroom where I stayed reenacting Moses parting the dark sea. Once the flood had ended, thinking I was safe I Uber back to the hotel. Due to past incidents, I knew I had food poisoning and that a frontal demonic explosion was near so I held several plastic bags just incase. Upon arriving, I made it all the way to the elevator aka "The Devils' rocket", where I was blasted to an undisclosed high floor experiencing ear popping unsteady equilibrium. So immediately as I exited, I'm sorry but I could not hold it. Lord knows I tried with all my might to hold back that horrific devil in my mouth with one hand enough to cause devil juice squirting back at my face along the sides. No matter how hard I tried it kept coming, so I tried my best to at least make it to a small corner. But before I got there, I felt like a human water sprinkler shooting devil juice from left to right along the floor looking for my room. Well luckily after having an awesome wonderful wife that cared for me, the maid staff quickly responded and cleaned up my satanic crime scene which i caused as if it never happen. I literally felt like I was in an Outer Limits episode left wondering, " WTF, I could have sworn I vomited here last night". But before we get there, I spent the whole night on the royal throne parting floods and ejecting devil juice at the same time. It was NASTY! not only was I filling the bowl but I was also shooting devil juice into the tub. I literally had to sit like I was at bar having a drink. AND!!! once again the maid staff came to my rescue..I mean it was like 10am in the morning after my wife had left that our maid came into the room where i was balled into the covers like a baby kangaroo in a pouch. So as soon as I heard her, I immediately jumped up to at least try to warn her of the crime scene I had left that night before crawling into bed. THIS maid had the nerve to say, "Sir it's ok, it's alright, you don't look to well, you should get back into bed, no worries I have gloves". SO then I replied with, "OK then!" So when I titled this, "Angelic Maids Sent From Heaven", I meant it! After my incident of Hell, I did not even get a hint that maids were whispering behind services halls what had occurred. Nights after followed with sweet greetings with delivered chicken noodle soups.

Yet before getting into the pool it felt as if we were walking outside with nothing on it was completely freezing. Pros: The room was very nice, clean, and spacious. We enjoyed the welcome cookies. The location was close to places we wanted to go to.
Cons: When checking in, the front desk person was trying to multi-task too many things at once. She told us that we needed to pay for the room again, which was outrageous as we had paid for it when we made the reservation. After searching through the account for a few minutes she found our previous payment. Wifi not included within the room price- it is sold as an additional room expense for an already pricey room.

Cons: Great location great facility but unfortunately they advertise free parking and that’s not true I was given a bill for $106 for a two night stay for parking when the site says it’s free at least on Expedia site. When I brought it to the front desk they were at least kind enough to split it with me . Other than that absolutely gorgeous place. But parking is not free.

Cons: Being gouged by Kayak/Cancelon when the hotel was showing as fully booked. Rooms became available the next day but it was too late...non-refundable charge. Paid $100+ more than what ended up being the price I could've paid just walking in off the street. Kayak pushed the buck to Cancelon who is impossible to get in touch with. Beware

Pros: I love the connection the Double Tree has with the YMCA to use there gym! That is why we choose this hotel over any other! The location is great, but to be able to start the day off with working out at the YMCA makes it that much better. Please keep this partnership working.

Cons: In 2014 the lack of free WiFi is unconscionable. We had reserved a room with 2 double beds--for a Mom and teenage son--and they only had a king available and had to give us a handicapped room. The wheelchair accessible shower was less than ideal.

Cons: THE HOTEL WITHOUT NOTICE CHARGED MY CARD EXTRA $54.95 FOR EACH DAY THE DAY *AFTER* MY STAY WITH THEM SINCE THEY HAVE MY CARD INFO ON TOP OF THE $100 DEPOSIT THEY ASKED AT THE COUNTER. IF I DIDNT CALL THEM later FOR CLARIFICATION THEY MIGHT JUST CHARGE THE MONEY. ALSO ONE OF THE ROOM WAS JUST A MAKESHIFT ROOM WITH PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER SINCE THE AC OF THE ROOM WAS BROKEN AND THEY STILL CHARGE FOR FULL PRICE.

Pros: I have been there twice in the past two years & absolutely love it! It's the perfect location right next to Fenway Park (some rooms look down into the field!) & it's right on the T. They have been renovating certain parts each time I go which is nice to see improvements happening & the work is never bothersome. The building is very old & has great character while still feeling luxurious. Also, the restaurant in the lobby has wonderful breakfast at reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend this to others.
Cons: One of the things that has not been renovated in the room I was in last was the kitchenette (suite). I would rather had no fridge or sink than look at that thing. Please take it out! The dirty 80s do not belong in historic Boston!

Cons: Very small rooms, can just walk around the bed. decor is mix matched and most look like they came from a garage sale and i haven't seen a tv that old even in a nursing home. If you like a hard mattress then you will be pleased, me not so much. cracks in ceiling and walls. Only 2 bath towels were place in the very odd shaped bathroom with no counter space to put your travel items. Extension cords ran the power to everything and had to dig behind the furniture to be able to plug in our cell phones into one. We got to the hotel late at night and transferred hotels the very next morning. My husband refused to even unpack. Its been over a week now and the refund for the other 4 nights still has not been credited. i understand the hotel is 100plus years old but this is what i picture a sleazy hotel room to look like.

Pros: I selected this hotel for its proximity to places I wanted to see & the fact that it was a historic building. Bathroom was very clean, but awkward. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly enough.
Cons: Room was stuffy & AC cooled very slowly. As I was on the 5th floor, they'd screwed the window completely closed, so I was unable to use it for venilation. The paint was peeling off the baseboards. The furniture was old, cheap & veneer was peeling off. Mini-fridge wasn't even on. Carpet was visibly stained & dirty. Walls have not been updated for sound, as I could hear the lady in the other room constantly coughing. Shower could use a rounded curtain rod for more soace, as the tub is mostly likely from the 50's and quite narrow.

Pros: The best aspect was the hotel location- one block from the T and the Public Garden. It was a short stroll to classy Newbury St. Our upgraded queen room was quite comfortable for our 4 day stay, but not roomy. The bathroom was tight, but functional. The shower was fine. The inside courtyard view is boring--- really just a view of 3 sides of the hotel building. Personally, we'd have preferred a noisy street view. The elevator situation was fine most of the time but occasionally we had to wait in a very long line (50 ft long one afternoon) to board a crowded elevator. This happened when a business conference let out masses of participants all at once.

The staff was very friendly, though, and were accommodating with being under 21 (parent just had to sign and send in a form so we could stay there)

Also no mini-fridge so we could not bring home leftovers for later, not that big of a deal but would have been a nice addition. Bathroom seemed decently sized but shower was quite small (thankfully we are both small or we would have been banging our elbows against the walls). Also, water ended up getting all over the bathroom floor because it had no where to go in the shower.

Cons: My room was changed to a different room when I arrived that I didn't ask for. I already payed online. It was made seem like my room was changed to something better when indeed it was worse. Bigger bed. But we lost the use of the bath tub and space. We had a very small stand up shower. I had a romantic night planned for me and my significant other and we couldn't do what we wanted. Was also charged 140 dollars with out any explanation or anything. Highly disappointed.

Cons: The room was tiny, had no closet and not even an armoir, so no place to hang clothes. The shower was smaller than a phone booth. The walls seemed thin because we could hear every word of the next room's conversation. There is no button for cent desk on the room phone so I had to go through 3 wrong desks to reach them to complain. They said they would send security up to check it, but that apparently never happened as we continued to hear the next guests for hours.

Cons: Family was in town for a wedding. A huge Convention was also at the hotel. Noise, noise , noise! Convention goers on our floor had noisy drunken party. Front desk could not deal with them. Offered us new room locations for following night. Our "new" room had no hot water until maintenance was called. Extremely small queen room. Hallways so wide and high, every voice heard in the room. Plumbing noisy and easy to hear voices in next room. Would never stay here again. Too many other quality hotels in the area. Missed the mark with the redo.

Pros: We liked the luxurious feel of the hotel and that the Hotel was pet friendly. The Hotel is very beautiful and clean and it also had a boutique hotel, friendly feel to it. The hotel was right next to a beautiful big park which was great to take a walk in. We were also in a close proximity to a very luxurious restaurant with excellent food.The rooms were clean and comfortable and recently updated. I must give a five star plus service rating to them because I happened to left my iPad and wallet behind in the safe and they actually sent everything back to me via express overnight right away free of charge to me. Excellent service, great staff!

Also a host of dining options in the neighborhood. Rooms were updated but on the smaller side for the price paid. All the staff was courteous and helpful, including everyone.

Cons: I didn't like the fact that the hotel room was the size of my closet and the bathroom was no bigger than an outhouse. The shower must have been made for a person 4 feet tall. My wife is 5 feet tall and skinny and had a hard time moving around in there. The ice machine on our floor was busted so I kept having to go down stairs to refill. Overall the stay was ok since we were so close to the theater.
