Friendly staff at the front desk and the overall appearance of the hotel.
It was a very brief stay, I even checked out before breakfast started so can't comment a lot other than room was clean and comfortable, staff very friendly, check in and out very smooth
I liked the location, is a walking distance from many attractions in town. Friendly stuff and spacious rooms, though looking a bit old and overused. Comfortable beds.
You have to pay additionally for Internet wifi! That came as a surprise..., not a nice one though. Internet is free only in the lobby area, where is always noisy. If you come for business and need to work on your emails,... very inconvenient.
Very nice hotel and convenient to tourist areas.
Location put us right where we needed to be but we had to find our own shortcuts - staff recommended various things but never mentioned short cuts and had us hiking around on very crowded streets to other buildings nearby. Our room was very quiet. Hubby loved the pool.
We had to pay extra for a microwave oven (delivered to our room upon request) (we need one for medicinal use) (most hotels these days have microwave ovens in every room); the one we were issued was so low wattage it was tiresome to use. Parking was quite expensive. We were expecting a great breakfast but it didn’t look so great and also was expensive - cold buffet was one price (c. $22) (an array of cold cereals in lil boxes) and a higher price ($30) for custom fried eggs - pfft! The buffet looked very picked-over so we ate elsewhere for a fraction of the cost. This hotel was no bargain. Their recommendations for dinners were also a bit over the top - especially the nearest seafood place.
Geared toward business travelers, the Sheraton Boston Hotel is one of several chain hotels attached to Back Bay's massive Hynes Convention Center complex, which also includes the Prudential Center and Copley Place malls, attached via indoor walkway and sky bridge.
The Sheraton is the only convention center hotel with panoramic views of downtown Boston and the Charles River from even traditional guest rooms. Club Level Guest Rooms on the top four floors of the hotel's North Tower comes with free Wi-Fi and access to the Club Lounge which serves continental breakfasts and early-evening snacks.
The gigantic 1,220-room Sheraton Boston Hotel offers business travelers a free business lounge and on-site full-service FedEx office. The biggest draw to the hotel is the amazing fitness complex, featuring the biggest indoor lap pool in Boston, plus an outdoor atrium with views of skyscrapers towering above. Dining options at the Sheraton include Apropos for breakfast and Sidebar and Grille for lunch and dinner.
As an upscale area in the center of Boston, Back Bay offers everything from luxury shopping on Newbury Street to baseball at nearby Fenway Park. Major attractions like the Public Garden and Boston Common and the start of the Freedom Trail are within a few blocks of the hotel, but other tourist hotspots, like the North End and Faneuil Hall, are further away. The area is filled with upscale restaurants, and a 10-minute to the South End features a more lively bohemian area with trendy bars and eateries.
Business travelers with an agenda in Boston will get the best of both work-and-play worlds at this massive business-oriented chain hotel.
