Pros: We went away very happy. Friendly owners, with real effort made with the breakfast. Also, little extra attention to detail/requests were happily met. Recommendations of where to eat etc extremely helpful. Overall a Very Good Experience.

Pros: Everything was perfect! The room, breakfast, extremely helpful owners. We travel frequently and this is the best B&B we have ever been.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic stay during our 3 nights at St Lucia wetlands. The guest house has a very warm family vibe and we were made to feel welcome from day 1. Prior to arriving we were sent a suggested itinerary for our stay which was very helpful as we could look at activities beforehand. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The breakfast was lovely and varied every day and we particularly enjoyed the homemade pastries. We really appreciated the additional extras such as car washing every day, and the snorkel and towels for cape Vidal. Thank you to all!

We felt they went above and beyond in their efforts to ensure a very memorable stay.
Cons: No complaints!

Pros: Lovely place and garden, great accommodation, super breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: I felt like I was at home but away from the busy city life. I loved that fact that there was no TV in the room and therefore my wife and I spent quality time together.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and cosy guest house in walking distance from the main street; simple but good, freshly prepared breakfast; muffins and danish were still warm when we got them; gluten free options available; when you arrive, Joyce gives you the full information package about St Lucia and surroundings and helps you to organise your tour program if you want.
Cons: pool was not clean but actually you don't need it and it was getting winter anyway
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect, especially the very welcoming and supportive host. Thx for everything!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean lovely rooms and a Joyce couldn’t do enough for us! Like having our own personal travel agent!! Lovely breakfast.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was the best I have had on this trip. The 'ladies' made those eggs just how I wanted them. A lovely and relaxing place to stay.
Cons: Well the wifi signal was very weak and it seemed to go off altogether at night which was a bit of a nuisance if you want to stay in touch or skype home.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are extremely kind and welcoming; they patiently explained to us all options for activities and made the bookings. This way our short stay turned into an unforgettable experience. Breakfast was fantastic and we even got a packed one on our last day (due to an early morning hippo watching cruise). I strongly recommend exploring the eastern iSimangaliso by car, and the night safari.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice breakfast. Very kind welcome and amazing help to book game drives and boat trips!
Cons: The property is rather small, which means mostly that you always need to close the curtains for some privacy. Very cosy though, with a nice terrace.

Pros: Everything was perfect - location, rooms, super helpful host!
Cons: Nothing to add

Pros: Lovely place to stay. Safe and secure. Very friendly staff and excellent cooked-to-order breakfast. Room very comfortable with good air-conditioning. Bathroom spotless. Would have liked to have stayed longer as there's a lot to do in the area. Only a small town but it's not everywhere that you have hippos wandering around the streets at night!
Cons: Nothing to say here!

8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great guest house in central St Lucia with friendly hosts. The accomodation was perfect for my husband and I travelling for a short visit to the area. If you like peace and quiet this is the B&B for you. We would have loved to stay an extra night! Lovely breakfast too.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The manager is one of the friendliest persons we have met. She gave a lot of tips on what to do and helped with booking trips. The room was great and really clean, it looks even better than the pictures. Breakfast was also really good and they even provided us with a breakfast package when we did early morning trips. The location of the guesthouse is perfect: within 5 minutes of walking you are on the main street where all restaurants are located.
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were outstanding and hooked us up with an amazing safari through safariforsix.co.za which was an unforgettable experience. The staff also knocked on our door after dinner to let us know hippos were passing the gate in case we wanted to see them. Very thoughtful, lovely breakfast provided. Felt like a fancy home away from home!
Cons: My only comment is that the bathroom is not fully encloSed (the walls don’t go all the way up to the ceiling) which can just make toilet going an awkward experience with others in the room and able to hear. It’s a structural issue so not easily fixed and would not stop me staying there again.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Location is perfect, just outside of the main street but within walking distance to restaurants. Loved the personal attention from Ivonne and Isabella to every detail (gourmet breakfast, reading books). Best of all their advice/tips for local beaches, restaurants. They booked us and we had lovely snorkelling at Cape Vidal, so much we returned on our own the next day. Game view on our snorkeling drive: rhinos, kudus. Great visit to Croc center and Sunset Jetty estuary tour for hippos.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice and kind hosts. Beautiful and clean rooms! Very good breakfast!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent accommodation in a fantastic location. It's a short walk to the main strip, but set one road back so nice and tranquil. The Guest House was recently renovated and is upmarket and extremely comfortable. All rooms open onto the pool area. The owners were on site to welcome us, helped us book excursions and made dinner reservations. Breakfast was delicious. I would definitely recommend iGwalagwala to others.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, very warm and welcoming. Helped us book a boat trip. Great room. Great location. Delicious breakfast
Cons: Would've preferred a darker curtain in bathroom
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Thank you Isabelle for the amazing stay. We really enjoyed our stay and the hospitality from Isabelle. She gaves us much Information about St Lucia and booked a few excursions for us. It could not have been better!!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: The food was amazing. If you go out for the day I recommend asking for a picnic lunch. The rooms are stylish if somewhat austere. Seems like they're designed to withstand a flood.
Cons: The WiFi was as slow as the food was good. Did I mention how good the food was? Download speeds were okay, uploads were almost impossible.

Cons: No gated parking. Limited breakfast spread.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: There was a welcoming feel which made my stay very enjoyable. Will recommend Lidiko anytime and we will return soon.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was delicious. Bread, pastries, jams, meats, cheeses, yoghurts, fresh fruits, cereal, eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, potatoes, fresh juices, teas (including English tea) and coffees! On a couple of days we were leaving too early for breakfast, however if you inform the staff they make you up a packed breakfast and leave it in your fridge at no extra charge, thank you! There was an honesty bar which was a pleasant surprise, wines, beers, soft drinks, and snacks available at a very reasonable price. The room was spotless, the air conditioning was more like climate control fantastic! The bed was huge, so comfy and the linen was very high quality! The area does at times have short power cuts due to government load shedding, however the room is fitted with a solar light so that you are not plunged into darkness and the hotel has a generator to keep the water running. We spoke to some people who were staying in another hotel and they did not have a generator and therefore could not have showers when there was a power cut, we did not have this problem. The staff are wonderful, so friendly and genuinely interested in your stay. The communication before we arrived (and after) was fantastic. They booked all of our safari trips for us at no extra charge and gave us travel directions too. It is a very short walk from the local shops and restaurants and it is very safe to walk around also. What a gem, I definitely recommend!
Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We liked absolutely everything! The rooms are located within beautiful garden, the breakfast was delicious, the staff was attentive and professional, we got a lot of worthy tips for our full satisfaction! It is only a walking distance to all other places in St. Lucia, highly recommended!
7,0 Good
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: TV was faulty. and new one was purchased Electric shocks from reading light over bed
9,5 Excellent
Pros: What a great place! We came here upon recommendation from my brother who stayed here 2 years ago - and we enjoyed every single minute! We were greeted warmly and the hostess sat down with us, served us a cooling drink and gave us great advice on the area. They were very helpful and booked us a great Hippo Safari with SHAKAbarker Tours (who picked us up at the Lodge! highly recommended!). The Lodge is wonderful! It oozes a very relaxing vibe, and it's just nice to see how lovingly everything is put together! Great eye for details, and a very helpful and wonderful staff made this an unforgettable stay! We would have loved to stay longer - but unfortunately for us, they were booked out! But I'll definitely come again and can highly recommend this Lodge for anyone who's looking for the best place to stay in St. Lucia!
Cons: If I have to criticize something about this Lodge it was the waiting staff during breakfast who were constantly hovering behind us 5 minutes before breakfast ended - with the clear intent to rush us to finally finish. This pressure does not fit with the overall great and relaxed atmosphere of this Lodge!

Pros: Well designed, garden beautiful, more suitable for overseas tourists. Nice welcome from owners.
Cons: It was noisy due to alterations being done. Very limited tv channels.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and clean.
6,3 Good
Pros: The friendly lady chef who cooked perfect poached, fried and scrambled eggs. The elephant styled/ shaped towels on the beds.
Cons: A very dark room, blocked shower that leaked all over the floor and onto the bedroom carpets, at times no water in the toilet cistern which was ironic as the reason we were prepared to pay extra to stay at this property was that they advertise they have a borehole and always have water.....woken by staff at the back of our room chatting to each other and washing at the wash sink outside our bedroom window....a pet snake during breakfast wasnt welcoming or relaxing on a Sunday morning.
7,5 Good
Pros: It was like staying in a tropical forest, with trees and flowers everywhere on the property. Great location for St Lucia.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The service was great!! the full family help you to have the best stay at their place and at StLucia. All the Safaris were planned by then and they also suggested the best activities according to their experience. Plus, we have the chance to meet the monkeys, stealing some of the delicious breakfast :D
Cons: nothing I disliked
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This place is paradise in South Africa! The gardens are beautiful and lush and the pool is very clean and inviting. We loved the honesty bar where you can get a good glass of wine in the evening and the breakfast was superb - probably the best omlette with cheese and tomatoes in my life! The owners are very helpful and assisted us with the bookings of the tours we wanted to take. I can highly recommend staying in this friendly place!

Pros: Facility was spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Nothing!
6,8 Good
Pros: Breakfast was fine. The location was good. It would have been better if I had a car instead of waking back and forth to go to a restaurant. But nevethe less, it was good excercise
Cons: I did not like that booking.com cannot accept changes on bookings on a short notice. Such as changing the date of arriving due to international flight cancellations. Therefore i shall not make my booking nymore t hrough booking.com. I cnaceled your website.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The 'hidden' garden is like a private rainforest. Very clean room, delicious breakfast. Highly recommended
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rooms, plenty of space
Cons: Reception smelt of cigarettes. Breakfast staff were not engaging. Viewing area needs attention
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Views, location, gardens, cleanliness, hospitality. The owner went out of her way to meet our needs.
Cons: Nothing
7,5 Good
Pros: Extremely beautiful view clean room (however the housekeeper did not check the sheets, there was blood on the pillow case and it was not changed) big room (we didn't expected it to have such a lovely balcony. I think the photos do not do justice to the rooms) very polite staff. Also very helpful staff trying to give info about safaris etc. good breakfast beautiful village (it is a safe area) loved the idea ot the honesty bar very comfortable bed
Cons: These are minor stuff. I'm just saying them for improvement. the door to the bathroom is a bit loose and shady. would like a real door instead of a wooden curtain st. lucia is a bit uneasy to reach if you are coming from abroad. The view would have been more amazing if the trees on the right would have been pruned so that the sea is more visible. remote control for the entrance door does not work properly. I mean the system is a bit strange since you have to stand at a particular place for it to work (bit uneasy with a car) European sockets (electricity power points) were behind the fridge. very hard to reach
7,5 Good
Pros: Very friendly staff, possibility to braai outside of the cabanas, clean, separate beds in the kids room.
Cons: The WiFi in the cabanas is not that strong but I guess this is also an advantage if you want to get away from everything.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Stunning breakfasts on the deck! Great birding spot!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting. Very private. Cabanas extremely comfortable, with attention to detail with own outside sitting area and braii. Staff friendly and welcoming. Could not fault the whole experience.
Cons: Having no direct air conditioning in the bedroom only in the lounge made the bedroom very warm although you could safely leave windows open.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Safe location, very clean and Staff very helpful.
Cons: The seating area where you have breakfast in the morning has great views.

Pros: This was our third stay at Serene-Estate. It is well situated, the rooms are large and overlook the pool and park beyond. It will always be our first choice should we be lucky enough to return.
Cons: I do not believe there is anything not to like.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Luxurious with modern design - a perfect place to stay in St.Lucia This boutique guest house will be a perfect choice if your are looking for a 5***** bed&breakfast to serve as your base to experience and explore the iSimangaliso Wetlands (St.Lucia) and Northern KwaZulu Natal. I stayed for four nights at the Serene-Estate Boutique Guest House (SEBGH) in St.Lucia and can recommend it very much. Location: Very quiet location on the 'ocean-park-side' of town Overall impression of buildings and grounds: Well maintained, modern design - very well thought out. Rooms: I had the smallest room (which is still quite large) and I had a look at most of the other six suites/rooms. They are all most comfortable with excellent beds, enough room to set up laptops etc, comfortable seating and plenty of room for cloths ... I like the modern 'clean look' design of the rooms with no unnecessary dust-collection items all over the place (as in many other guest houses). Suites - 4 suites with direct access to the park side - 1 ocean view suite with own roof garden (on the park-side of the house) Rooms (lower rate) - 1 large room with own roof garden (on the park side of the house) - 1 smaller room with an own garden (street-side but very quiet) Bathrooms: Excellent with large showers and separate baths Breakfast: Very good and well presented - appropriate for a 5* environment. Excellent background music. The 'semi-outside' breakfast area is well designed for breakfast in all kinds of weather. Lounge Area: There is lots of seating available. It includes a small library and a piano. Nespresso coffee and an honesty bar are available. Pool: The large pool is well maintained with plenty deck-chairs. Parking: Under-cover parking with enough space to get in and out of the vehicle. Staff: The staff was very friendly and well trained. Debbie (Manager) was very helpful in arranging excursions and was very knowledge about everything around St.Lucia.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality of the staff. Their assistance and taking care of our needs. Due to the border of the guest house Close to the reserve we got the chance to see hippos next to the piscine. This is one advantage of the situation of the guest house close to the reserve. We got a late arrival but Mrs. Debbie wait for us. She makes all her best to get all the comforts.
Cons: The TV size compare to the room size and the position not face to the bed. The A/C was having a problem and it was fixed the second day.

9,3 Excellent
Pros: The host and the staff were amazing!!!!
7,0 Good
Pros: Nice staff: they helped us to organize the night drive in the park and the horse ride. They were able to make us stay two days instead of the only one we booked. Position is not central, but St Lucia is very small and it's maybe better to be closer to the nature than to the shops!
Cons: Price is a bit high comparing to what you get in general. Breakfast was not so rich in quality and quantity. The second room we slept in had no shower, but we knew it so it's not something bad.

Cons: The bathroom shower could have been cleaned and the door did not close properly The room was noisy at night as we were near the bar The safe key was not given to us at check in and was very fiddly to use, perhaps unreliable No laundry facility available due to water shortage

5,5 Okay
Pros: The staff were friendly.location was good. Breakfast was good
Cons: We were given 2 single beds instead of a king size and when I queried. Reception stated that it's normal practice. This proved totally uncomfortable for myself and my spouse. The water flow was extremely extremely extremely low. I didn't have a proper shower for the entire duration of my stay. I definitely will not book at this hotel again.
