Hotel Monopol - Wroclaw - Building
1
9,1 Excellent (2 733 reviews)
R1 960+
Overview Reviews
A stay at The Monopol Hotel places you in the heart of Wroclaw, within a 10-minute walk of Rynek and Wroclaw Town Hall. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
7,5 Good
Pros: Walkable to city sights and Christmas markets. High quality restaurant. Generally very good facilities. Welcoming and helpful staff. Convenient parking.
Cons: Sound proofing in the top (newer level) was terrible, between rooms and from the corridor. Temperature control of the room was slow and not always effective. Furniture layout was odd with limited space to pass between the foot of the bed and desk chair. Occasional chairs under the strange curtains solution left limited head room. For a grand hotel, the top floor rooms should have been designed with better efficiency.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Best hotel in the city!
Cons: Nothing, it was fantastic.
7,0 Good
Pros: Staff were excellent, food and beverages were great
Cons: Room was noisy, could hear room next door and restaurant on floor above. Location of mirror in bathroom not useful for shaving. No shelf for shampoo and soap in shower. Lighting in room very dull.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Well located Polish quality end hotel with friendly welcoming staff. Huge room, with nice big bed, view of neighboring church, nice an quiet. Lovely bathroom with heated floor and a fancy bathtub. Room was looked after and kept immaculate during my stay and complimentary water replenished. Unfortunately I didn't get around to using the pool or suana etc but they looked very good. Nice touch was a huge fruit bowl at reception for guests to pick at in passing.
Cons: Bath towels were a bit on the small side. Breakfast was certainly an impressive spread. However, vegans will be limited in their choice, although certainly won't starve. If I use the hotel again, which I might well I'd probably be tempted to go out to one of the vegan friendly cafes for breakfast instead. Also a slightly odd system for tea and coffee which unlike the food buffet required a request to staff for a refill. The hotel was very busy during my stay and my requests were forgotten or lost a few times (understandable as the staff had enough to do without running about supplying drinks). Only other gripe was the lack of drink making facilities in the room, especially annoying when returning from an evening out at 0300 to be told hot drinks couldn't be provided after 0200. In room drink making facilities would have made all the difference to my stay.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The dat we came welcomed us very friendly and in the same time professional guy at the reception. He gave fruits to the baby and I could see he can really enjoy his work. I really loved opened swimming pull, jacuzzi, saunas and gym for the guest of the hotel.
Cons: It was quiet cold in a room although set the temperature and I didn’t like the behaviour of one girl at the reception of spa area. She looked like she didn’t enjoy her work and it was so hard for her to answer our questions even when I was speaking Polish language to her. The other day, another girl was really friendly there.
9,4 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool , good location .
Cons: No tea / Coffee in room .
6,0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: This is not really a 5 stars hotel.

Cons: It was perfect
8,0 Excellent
Pros: It is clearly an old granary and for that it was superbly and sensitively refurbished. I loved the domed brick roofs they were so authentic and really spectacular. Breakfast was excellent really anything you wished for and very elegant dining room with fresh flowers and pumpkins decorating which was a lovely natural touch in decorating, very helpful and pleasant staff there
Cons: I loved my garden room it was superb - HOWEVER the pillows were so soft they were uncomfortable and I left the Granary with an unmerciful headache which roused me as the pillows way too soft and had no support for your head. Otherwise this was a fabulous room, really special and had absolutely everything you could possibly need, a very special place.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms staff and reception and restaurant are a good +4 star hotel
Cons: Nothing the hotel is outstanding
6,0 Good
Pros: Location is good, breakfast is ok too. Pleasant(ish) staff.
Cons: Rooms are loud - either from ventilation, 220v to 12v halogen converters, internal sounds (poor isolation) or street (windows are not really good). Pretty much all is furnished to meet basic levels for the given star rating - medium to cheap. I guess it's one of those hotels in old city centers whose management doesn't count on people returning - like overpriced mediocre restaurants at pretty much similar locations. Unfortunately - I do return to Wroclaw every few weeks, and this is my last stay here. Charging 20 euro for breakfast is also highly excessive because that is the price of a solid a la carte lunch at any restaurant on Rynek. If any other hotel with 5* in the Western Europe would go by that standard, a breakfast in Paris 5* hotel would cost 50 euro - and I know for a fact that it's not the case (it's actually 15-20). Usually I take hotel breakfast on the West, because going out is paying more and eating pastries ("Promotion!! An old croissant and a bad coffee for only 15 euro"). Here - for 20 euro you can go to ANY super fancy/hipster place around hotel and you wouldn't be able to spend those 20 euro for breakfast a la carte even if you tried. Literally - I tried! Another thing are the carpets - I guess if they didn't have those to absorb some sounds - nobody would ever fall asleep there. So fine - keep them. But they could be changed in some rooms (washing does not help any more dear management, don't whip your cleaning ladies, rather give up some of your bonuses). I changed rooms on the first night (I measured average 47dB buzzing in the first room during night coming from ventilation (always on - not possible to take it down even with card out)) - and it was not smelly. The second room smelled - it took some time to get used to. But at leasts I could sleep.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was wonderful with so much variety. The staff friendly. All was great!
Cons: The hotel needs a fitness room especially for individuals who try to stay fit as they travel on a regular basis. It’s value added.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location excellent and breakfast okay.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Located directly beside train/bus stop and a decent mall. Only a short 5-10 minute walk from old town Wroclaw square.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, location, location! Renewed hotel with extra comfy beds. 5 min walk to everywhere. Safe, quiet & feels like brand new.
Cons: Vegan options at the breakfast still missing. Not a big deal though.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, close to the historic city center. Restaurants, a shopping mall, ATMs are all nearby, parking is located in the mall's parking garage right next to the hotel with a direct entrance from the parking lot. The rooms are neat, well equipped, and clean. The breakfast selection is rather good, the variety is convincing.
Cons: The location is rather central, therefore somewhat crowded and noisy, and cumbersome to navigate. The waffle maker is a crucial point at the breakfast, there was quite a queue lining up in front of it, it might make sense to get a second unit installed. Parking was rather intuitive to find as soon as we knew what to look for - some more obvious sings might have been handy.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: It was quite.
Cons: There was no on site gym.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Great location just a short stroll to the Christmas markets.
Cons: Nothing, everything was fine.
5,0 Okay
Pros: We didn't go to the breakfast onsite. It was an additional charge so we decided to pay to have breakfast in a more unique or interesting location in the city.
Cons: It was just average. Probably best for a business traveller who just needs a decent room to sleep in and can expense it all back. Really nothing special about that property. Only thing that comes to mind is we had need of an iron and they do not provide them in the room just an ironing/laundry service which was not open. Not a bad place just mediocre. I wouldn't stay much more than a night or two.

Pros: A nice buffet breakfast and the room was clean I have stayed in this hotel 5 times and it is very good
9,6 Excellent
Pros: I had a lovely stay in this very nice hotel in the centre of Wroclaw. The whole staff was very friendly, the room was quite big, the bed very comfortable, although not entirely soundproof, it was overly quiet, the bathroom was huge with a bathtub and shower in one. I really liked that they make some efforts to be more environment friendly with soap and shower gel dispensers and the option to not have the room cleaned every single day, as well as the option to keep your towels a few days. What would make it even better: a water fountain in the lobby to reduce the use of plastic bottles (I always travel with my reusable bottle and ended up filling it at the bathroom sink). I haven’t been to the restaurant nor had breakfast so I can’t comment on this, but the bar had nice cocktails, unfortunately since it wasn’t busy, it was sometimes hard to get someone to order and pay. The wellness area was really nice, with long opening times, the swimming pool, the whirlpool, the sauna, all great! All in all a great hotel, I’ll absolutely go back if ever in Wroclaw again and will check the other Qubus hotels in any future trips in Poland.

Pros: Location, style, breakfast. Really a nice relaxing place to stay after a long working day.
Cons: The mattresses are very soft. Nit everyone’s choice.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: food, location
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place! Great location to the city (if you use the tram or Lime scooters)
Cons: Very confusing staff, I really didn't understand what I was and wasn't paying for. It felt like I overpaid.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The interior of the hotel is surely something worth seeing and enjoying, a pretty friendly staff. We failed to enjoy the spa as we reached the hotel by 10 p.m., so no idea got it feels there. The room was very spacious and well equipped. A few compliments like still water were great to find. The breakfast offered a great variety of fresh veggies, salads and cooked meals, really gorgeous. Still the juices were just tetra packs...
Cons: Well, the price was absolutely too high for the level of service we enjoyed compared to other palace-based hotels in Poland. By a fault the cleaning staff had left a bag with garbage in the room before we entered the room. A glass was left uncleaned in room for us. As well as we found stains on the bed back. The staff just apologized, not offering anything to compensate the weird service. The parking costs 10 eur plus to 130 eur price for the room. I guess it’s really ridiculous. All in all too much for double the average price of a hotel. We don’t feel coming back at all and not recommending any friend. Sorry, but it’s hard to do this.
4,0 Okay
Cons: We came here with my friend for a b-day weekend wellness from Czech republic - welness was terrible - icy whirpool, no sheets for sauna - even when we asked staff for some they told us all the sheets are in some room where is treatment, promised they will manage it after treatment and forgot again. Room was completely different, than we booked on booking.com, floor in the bathroom was full of bobbypins - probably after previous customers :(
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Comfort, breakfast was amazing and all the staff was very friendly. I will come back
6,0 Good
Pros: spatious room, excellent location for commute to the city centre
Cons: I don’t think the rooms are properly checked prior to guest arrival few light bulbs were not working, coffee machine produced a disgusting coffee-like drink, even though it was nespresso - felt like I was being poisoned. very close to high road - noisy at night if windows facing street the spa massage room was extremely cold, hot tub water was rather cold
10,0 Excellent
Pros: We had a 2-week retreat in their Suite and we simply couldn't get enough of the charming hotel, it's fabulous staff, restaurant and of the Spa area. This hotel is an entire piece of Art in a building rich of Polish history. I would recommend Platinum Palace for a retreat.
Cons: I really don't know what to write here, our stay was very pleasant and everything taken care of. Only thing I couldn't get any ice for my drink one night, after the bar was closed.

9,2 Excellent
Cons: Internet connection was poor
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, big room & bathroom, good standard and quiet despite being located in a main street . Very convenient if you need to catch an early flight - 15 min to the airport by taxi (60 PLN, arranged by the hotel) at 4 am (definitely longer with more traffic). There is a supermarket (Lidl) next door and a drug store (Rossmann) nearby. Handy if you nee to buy something last minute before flying away. Good value for money!
Cons: The only little inconvenience is the access to upper floors (you need to use two lifts), yet you can leave big luggage in a storage room next to the reception, so it really isn't such a big deal.
6,3 Good
Pros: The room is big
Cons: The blonde girl in reception very bad it most be chang . I think it will be bitter for the hotel and no internet in the hotel
7,5 Good
Pros: Location to the town was good and you could leave your car there after check out to go back into the main square for the day. Rooms were quiet and comfy.
Cons: The breakfast was average. Despite getting there for 8am when it was served the majority of the food had gone cold.

Pros: The location of hotel is good.
Cons: The towels were smelly, the hair dryer felt as it will get blown any minute and the bed mattress was old and not comfy. And to add to it all the reception charged me for two rooms in advance when they were allowed to only charge for one… And there were some yesterday food at breakfast
7,5 Good
Pros: Location is good. Breakfast is very tasty. Servants are polait and welcoming. Hotel is pet friendly - but only for money :))
Cons: If You travel by car- the parking place will Be a little bit problematic, parking place is not near hotel and not free for charge.
3,0 Mediocre
Pros: Not much to like here, sorry. The staff was efficient and helpful.
Cons: Let's see...I have a list but do understand I don't often write negative reviews. This place was simply disappointing. -Dirty Carpet in the room -2cm gap under the door so EVERYTHING in the hallway could be heard clearly. Especially since... -there are smoking booths in the hall (at least on my floor). It surprisingly didn't smell much, but you could clearly hear the conversations of people. -Very uncomfortable mattress. I used extra blankets so i wouldn't feel the springs in my back. -Coffee packs were never replaced by housekeeping--even though I stayed several nights. -Overall, everything is quite old and in need of updating.

Quiet and leafy surroundings, which used to be a haven for travelers on the ancient amber road. The Bridge Hotel Wroclaw with its lifestyle design is a true invitation to a contemplative break. The district of Ostrow Tumski and the hotel both have their daily rituals, mindfully wakening senses at different times of the day, in the lobby, ballroom, garden and spa.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is plenty, the bed very comfortable.
Cons: The spa area is not really thought through and cozy. It seems a bit weird to have to pay 10€ to get internet access in a five star hotel, nowadays.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was nice and clean. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff nice. There was a nice spa in the basement but if you like to have any appointments you need to order beforehand. There was some misunderstanding regarding our rooms and we received two beds, not a big bed. That was taken care of in minutes and I am very happy about that.
Cons: There was however a very long walk after the hallway to our room. It was okay but if you were in the lobby and realised you had forgotten something it was an unpleasant walk up to your room. We would have liked electric scooters to ride the hallways. We had the most unpleasant experience whit checking out. The deposit from our credit card was made the first day. However, when we were checking out they accused us of not paying anything. It took us over 50 minutes to check out. It was not until I showed them my credit card overview that the lobby staff believed us and talked to his supervisor. Then he needed to process the deposit and explained all to us. We did not care and were extremely unhappy whit the 50-minute wait. They also made us wait 20 minutes for a taxi (when it arrived it was a car the Hotel were operating and the driver was busy driving other people to the airport). So 70 minutes in the Hotel lobby when leaving! That is the only thing that was not excellent and I would go to this Hotel again!

Pros: excellent choice of freshly cooked food for breakfast and also dined in the Novotel restaurant which is part of the building. location is justa 10 minute walk to the central bus/ train station and an equal didstance to the heart of the old town . take you time to stroll into the town and enjoy the many delightful cafes and bars on route.
Cons: hard to find anything to fault. the complex is shared with novotel group and the first four floors are ibis and the remaining floors are novotel with what i would imagine bigger or better equiped rooms that being said my room was perfect with desk and tv etc
6,7 Good
Pros: Close to Old market, good breakfast.
Cons: Not comfortable beds, missing place for cosmetics in bathroom. Not nice view from the room.

Cons: Nothing
9,6 Excellent
Pros: First of all, the hotel is easy reachable and in the walking distance from the central railway station. Also, the main market square is in 10-15 mins walk distance, at the same time the are is not lively with too many tourists, but quiet. Check in was quick, very friendly and extremely helpful team members, great breakfast with wide variety of foods. The room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Everything worked properly, Wi-Fi, climate control, water, etc., soundproof in the room is very good ensuring perfect rest. On a separate note, I would like to highlight that since a day before was my birthday the hotel's team prepared a nice sweet present for me in the room - an apple pie, some fruits and sweets as well as a nice hand-written b-day card. This was an excellent personal touch, which I appreciate a lot. Thank you Klaudia, Beata, Sonia, Dominika, Ewelina, Paula, Domi, Alicja, and Mauzia for great hospitality, awesome congrats and present that made my day! :)
Cons: There is nothing I was unhappy about.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent as it is generally quiet (although at the time of writing there was some building work nearby) and is only 5 minutes to the city centre where there are loads of the restaurants and bars. Also, there are three 'Zabka' local supermarkets within 5 minutes too (plus loads more around). There is a car park but we did not use as we got a taxi from and to the airport. Although the bed is a little firm, it is electric so you could raise into a semi-seated position. Large shower cubicle although not a large shower and a sensor operated tap in the bathroom. Fridge is provided in the room, which is good.
Cons: The bed was a little firm for our liking. The hot breakfast was not particularly hot, well certainly not after 9am anyway. Oddly, no sink plug so for the 'wet-shaver' a little inconvenient as had to use the cup provided in the bathroom instead (admittedly I didn't ask at reception though).
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, extremely helpful staff, very good breakfast, comfortable room and nice atmosphere in the hotel. Helpfulness with taxis throughout our stay, including transfers, and baggage store after our check-out, Use of 'lounge' to have a drink and relax. Good value for money. Would definitely stay again!
Cons: Minor issues with electric blinds in room at end of stay. Nice if there was a restaurant/standard bar.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Parking with Camera for free, big rooms & bath
Cons: Everything Perfect. Breakfast could be a Bit better, but still good
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Well equipped room, there is even an iron. Clean and big room. Free coffee and water is in the room. The hotel was good for our two nights stay. Continental breakfast was more then enough. Parking is behind the hotel. Close to the center, 5-10 minutes on foot.
Cons: The noise from the hallway is quite loud.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Great location very close to the main square, private parking in the back pf the of property and good breakfast.
Cons: Bad smell probably from shower drain.
7,0 Good
Pros: Clean and big room, everything worked well
Cons: Desk was way too high and non-ergonomic. Room has an uncozy feel. Architectural style out-dated.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Free private parking, friendly staffs, great selection and delicious breakfast. Only 5 minutes max to walk to centrum
Cons: On 2nd day of stay, toiletries were not replenished. Towels were short too.
