The pickup and drop-off were both easy. There was damage to the vehicle, however, that had not been documented. The gas tank was also slightly less than full (noticeably so) but the gauge read full when I returned it but I was charged for refueling for some inexplicable reason. I had to call and have that charge removed but I won't rent from Avis again in the near future based on these experiences.

We were not notified there were no cars available until we had arrived to pick up the car. The employee who informed everyone in the lobby did not gaf.

Received a more compact SUV, Mazda CX-30. It was still large enough for our needs for the trip. Car was in very good shape and drove very comfortably. Drop off in Rome was difficult and still haven’t received receipt via email as promised.

Did not have a car available for us despite booking in advance. No cars available nearby so we had to travel to another city at our own cost and then rent with another agency for a way higher last minute fee. Horrible experience with Avis and with kayak and would avoid if at all possible

They did not have a car available and I had to pay taxi to go to their location. Very rude people. They did not want to identify themselves when I arrived at the off airport site. No rep at the airport. It was very disappointing and misleading. I was stranded at the airport and had to book a car with New Look at the rate of $ 225.00 per day for a small SUV. I am requesting my FULL REFUND.

Extremely disappointed with my experience. I attempted to reserve a rental vehicle and was told that a credit card was required. I had a valid debit card with sufficient funds available, but Avis refused to accept it for the reservation. What made the situation even more frustrating was that no alternative solution was offered. I understand companies have policies, but customer service should be able to provide options or accommodations, especially when a customer is ready and willing to rent a vehicle. Instead, I was simply turned away without any effort to help me complete the reservation. This experience was inconvenient, frustrating, and a complete waste of time. If you don’t have a credit card on hand, be aware that you may not be able to rent a vehicle, and don’t expect much assistance in finding a solution.
