I had to take my partner to the hospital for an emergency on the morning of pick-up, and was late to pick up my rental. When I arrived, I was told the car I had already paid upfront for, for the whole day, had been rented out to someone else, and that the customer service agent couldn't do anything to help as I had booked through a third party. Terrible customer service experience - I will not be using this company again, and would not recommend to anybody.

The pickup process was terrible and very slow and uninformed. It was not worth the discounted price for the poor service. On my trip the car was parked in front of the Airbnb. When I came out on the last morning there was a scratch on the door. When I returned the car the process was equally slow. I arrived early so I would not miss my flight and I was almost late. I have my own zero deductible travel insurance with $45,000 rental coverage plus I purchased their zero deductible coverage. They charged me $500 deductible anyway saying it was their policy. I said that is not ok but that’s what they did. They said my insurance will reimburse me. I hope they do. I would not recommend this car rental company and I will not use them again.

I suppose my biggest and most disappointing conclusion is that I trusted Kayak. Normally/almost always (this is an obvious exception), I check the reviews, but as of lately, my bookings with Kayak have not failed. My experience with Rent Plus was a disappointment. Trust the reviews with RENT plus…. Dealing with them has been the worst experience ever with a car rental company. To start… the young lady at the desk was very condescending and very rude. Definitely should consider a career change. To an extent they are providing customer service and doing a terrible job at it. At one point she literally threw the paperwork at us. Perhaps the most concerning issue was the four-day hold they placed on the large deposit. I have rented cars in the states, Latin America, and other European countries and have never paid a deposit fee in the $Ks. To Kayak, if the reviews are this bad, why continue to do business with them? The take-away… always check the reviews.

They quote a low price but require extra insurance that was 3 times the quoted price. We rented for 4 weeks. The quoted price was 750$. The mandatory insurance was 2,100$. Our total price was almost 3,000$!! Run like mad away from this scam car rental company.

The wait was almost 1 hour. The salesman was very slow. We ended up with a terrible dirty smelly car which was way over priced. He sold us a toll pass, which we knew we did not need, due to the times we were traveling, but we were too tired to say no. The car smelled like pot the entire time requiring us to leave our windows open, in winter in Colorado. The worst car rental experience ever!
