Pros: Crew was nice. Plane was older model. No individual movies. Seats were old and worn, but flight was nice.
Cons: Not sure anyone can change this, but people (Egyptians) got out of their seats before the plane had even slowed down on the runway. People were jostled about. One guy bumped me several times. They then rushed forward cramming up the aisles. Just ridiculous.
Pros: 1. Friendly welcoming crew 2. Comfortable seats 3. Reasonable selection of entertainment 4. Clean amenities
Cons: 1. Although i requested Halal food in advance, when i booked my flight, non was provided. 2. I got to the boarding gate, 10 minutes before the plane was initially scheduled to take off. I was the second last person to board the aircraft because there was a long queue at Passport control with only one officer for a prolonged period. The man at the final boarding checkpoint, insisted that i was late because of shopping, and insisted on me catching a new flight the following day. He said that they had already filled up the plane with Stand By passengers, and my bags had already been off loaded. I had to beg him to allow me to board, and eventually he did. About 10 minutes after the scheduled departure time, the captain announced that they were waiting for one more guest, and the flight actually left about 20 minutes later then schedule anyway. This series of evens led me to believe that the man at the boarding gate was trying to elicit a bribe from me.
Pros: The service and food were good.
Cons: As a petite person I find the seats in economy class small and cramped. When passengers in front of you recline their seat backs, there is very little room to move, making it difficult to get up and out of your seat.
Pros: The seats on the plane are fairly comfortable and the meals provided are good. Vanity kits handed out were good too
Cons: It starts off with a chaotic luggage check in. No order, the staff take breaks on a whim and leave long queues of passengers waiting to check in their bags. The cabin crew looked rather annoyed at us boarding the plane and didn't bother to smile or greet as we came on board. Since the flight was at 1:30am, we fell asleep almost immediately however the cabin crew woke us up by vigorously shaking my shoulder to ask if we wanted food. The vanity kits were just thrown onto our laps while we slept. The on board entertainment system did not work on the entire plane for the duration of the flight.
Cons: 1 hr delay in departure from Lusaka. Plastic cutlery was difficult to eat with. More frequent water/drinks (or waterbottles instead of little cups) would have been appreciated. Movie options were not as good as other airlines.
Pros: Crew was friendly and online entertainment system had a lot to offer. Online check-in does save time, it's a shorter queue & you just have to drop off your luggage.
Cons: Eithad charges for seat selection now! Not seats with extra legroom or any other perks. But any seat in Economy if you select it 24 hours before departure, anywhere from $25 to $45. Seat selection is free if flight departure is less than 24 hours away but available seats are all random.
Pros: crew good. seat base was not soft nor comfortable.
Cons: have crew offer drinks more often throughout the flight. every passenger gets dehydrated and needs more drinks. I had to go to the back and get drinks myself.
Pros: Nice aircraft and comfortable seating in economy with a good selection of music and movies on the seat back entertainment. Business class was mostly empty and looked very nice and roomy. They should upgrade their frequent flyers the way other airlines do to fill those empty seats and generate the good PR that results. The food was good in my opinion, and the Ethiopian coffee is great. Affordably priced tickets was the selling point for choosing them. They are a young airline and while they go through the motions of being a modern service-oriented airline, but alas for the most part they aren't there yet.
Cons: We've flown a few Ethiopian Air flights now and while the flight attendants are nice, they aren't always on top of things and paying attention to the needs of the passengers. Not as helpful or attentive as we're used to. Boarding is chaotic and the overnight transfer at Addis Ababa is a total mess. If you get to leave through the airport in the early morning things are relatively painless, but what a nightmare of pushing and shoving chaos when it's busy. The hotels they put you up in are mediocre at best. Last week we enjoyed a long wait for the bus ride to the hotel, cold food when we arrived, and a nice hard bed to "sleep" in. We probably won't fly Ethiopian Air if we have to overnight in Addis Ababa again. I'm willing to pay up to fly another airline and skip the overnight as it's just not worth the hassle.
We attempt to get accurate prices, however, prices are not guaranteed.
We’re not the seller
At KAYAK we don’t set prices, so it’s not possible for us to guarantee what other companies are selling.
We aggregate tons of data for you
Our service lets you quickly and easily compare results from hundreds of travel sites at once. In this sense, KAYAK is a search engine and we don't guarantee prices we find.
Why aren’t prices accurate 100% of the time?
Prices on airline seats, hotel rooms and car hires can change frequently. Several people may also be trying to buy the same travel option simultaneously. As a result, you may find on occasion that certain prices are no longer available.
