Chicago hotels near Auditorium Building and Theatre

Cons: Smallest room I've ever seen. Valet parking outrageously expensive.

Cons: Not much i didnt like. Nice view of the Chicago river but would be better if window was cleaner.

Cons: I had issues about several things that may not matter to some people but it bothered me. I asked twice for a sleeping mask and the first night they're were out said they'll get some in the next day. On the next day I asked again and they already have them out.?.? I feel they should have notated I requested one the first day and then have it ready the next. The bed linens leave something to be desired. They use a flat sheet for the bottom sheet which kept coming undone. The comforter wasn't big enough for the bed. It continuously kept falling off so in the middle of the night I had to get up and cover my wife back up. The room was for the most part clean. However I drop something and when I looked under the bed I saw individual skittles covered in dust :-/. And the restaurant... We tried to eat and drink there but the service was terrible. Took 20 mins to get menus and a water. I guess they're understaffed? But we left before ordering anything due to the service. The overal stay wasn't terrible. I would stay there again but I would never pay full price for it.

Cons: The room was tiny - literally the same size as many of the hotel rooms we stayed in in Japan. The toiletries and furnishings were the bare minimum - don't forget to bring the bar of soap to the shower if you want to use it there instead of at the sink! Finally, the elevator situation is terrible. Multiple times, we had to wait well over 10 minutes for an elevator to get to our room. Be sure to budget in extra time if you're on a schedule!

Cons: They have no lot, no arrangement with a local lot, and only one valet on staff as best I could tell. This guy would disappear for up to 20-30 min, or flat out say it will be 20+ min before I can get your car. All that, for $55 per trip. Don't drive, or plan to find a distant garage if you want to pay less than $50-70 per night parking. Atop the valet-delay, they only had one elevator servicing floors 11-30s, and every trip up or down took at least 10 min of waiting (don't leave anything behind!) and every trip in the elevator was packed body to body.

Cons: It was difficult to locate and find initally when we were driving and trying to checkin.

Cons: Have to wait along time for elevator, then it broke down along with the coffee machine.

Cons: Needs a good cleaning and update, grungy.

Cons: The elevator service was terrible. We would often wait over 20 minutes to catch the elevator during the day, and the stairs were not practical when you're staying in the 28th floor.

Cons: My king bed was actually a king box spring with two twin mattresses. Who does that? The seam is right in the middle of your back.

Cons: room refrigerator wasn't working properly

Cons: Stuff in room was broken....shower handles for example. No linens on pullout and took an hour to get some. Overall just good....not going to be the most memorable but it was ok

Cons: I was not told that the reservation was moved to the Hilton. I got to my hotel late and it was on a small paper on the door. After then getting to the Hilton, the front desk attendant was in the back and I had the shout HELLO for 15 minutes until she came to check me in. During that she told me there would be a grab and go breakfast starting at 6am. I went down at 6:20 and there was nothing so I’m unsure what was going on with that: but there was a very large line of people and no one at the front desk yet again.

Cons: It is over priced. We had to pay and additional $17 for parking overnight in an unsecured parking lot. Needless to say there are no views since it is close to MDW airport, which is why I think it is so overpriced. There was no bottled water in the room. Typically, most hotels provide 1 or 2 complementary bottled waters. I had to call the front desk three times to verify the check out time and kept getting placed on hold.

Cons: Their “smart thermostat” shut off during the night making it unbearably hot. I called. She said no maintenance and tried to explain what a smart thermostat is. I just wanted to sleep and told her that. She said flip the switch to the half moon. That doesn’t exist. She lied to get me off the phone then kept putting me on hold when I tried to call back. Only way I could get the air to stay on was to keep a light on. Super awful way to spend a night and that money. Probably switching to Marriott.

Cons: There was no warm blanket on the bed. It felt like there were 5 sheets stacked together but no warmth. Room by the elevator was noisy. Not handicapped and was put in handicapped room which was kinda annoying.

Cons: More verity in food selections.

Cons: The service at the hotel bar. I stopped in twice over the weekend and could barely get the bartender or server's attention long enough to place an order or even pay the check! They were both eastern European.

Cons: We booked a king bed but during check in was told the website I used is whatever is available. Wasn't happy about that. They did switch us the second night when one became available for the rest of our stay. The website thru Kayak was GetaRoom that booked the room. So I suggest to confirm your type of room before you stay if you go thru that website.

Cons: Nothing!!

Cons: No microwave or mini fridge in the room and room service was a little pricey. Bathroom wasn't as nice as I expected

Cons: The hotel itself was older/not in the best condition as portrayed in the photos

Cons: The only down side, if one can call it such, is the location. The hostel resides in a very nice neighborhood. I was not concerned about safety. However, this nice neighborhood is about fifteen minutes from the city center. You will end up riding the subway a lot.

Cons: Nothing displeased me.
