Cons: Two of the nights we were there, Trump protesters circled in cars around the hotel honking their horns until 2am. The hotel is across the river from the Trump tower and the closest location for protesting, which was annoying.

Cons: For guests travelling from the UK be aware of the extra tax etc that they add to the bill. They put a $75 deposit on your bill for each night you stay. This gets refunded when you leave. Just to be aware as it bumps the price up considerably on initial payment.

Cons: It continues to annoy me that they automatically charge an 18% tip on breakfast, AND even if breakfast was included in the room fee, AND in addition they leave an empty line on the payment slip for a tip, AND that while ordering the same breakfast every day the price is not always the same. I paid their attention to all of that in my prior stays and nothing has changed.

Cons: Non-smoking floor (Floor 1) smelt like smoke. EXTREMELY loud band on Fridays and Saturdays in the lobby lounge. It was actually very hard to hear the check-in staff. Breakfast was down a long hall on the ground floor. When asked if we had breakfast included in our room, the cafe staff very rudely said "you're not on the list". This was the ONLY exception to above. Our limited tasting of food was definitely meh.

I took a jog through the neighbored and returned to the hotel along the lakeshore drive waterfront trail with a full on skyline view. Pros: Room was comfortable, beautiful, and as private as we required. I would also commend follow-up that was already and immediately and very satisfactorily provided when I explained my dissatisfaction with a staff-encounter in an earlier report.
Cons: I encountered some very rude behavior from a server at the breakfast bar. It has been addressed well and in a way that reflected very positively on The Ambassador.

Pros: Very disappointed that the rooms do not have coffee makers in them. There is no complimentary coffee in the lobby either. For the price this hotel charges, one would expect complimentary coffee. Bathroom was extremely small and toilet was stained and our bathroom sink stopped up every time we ran the water.

Pros: The room was so lovely and well appointed in a clean contemporary and comfortable style. The neighborhood is surprisingly quiet and absolutely gorgeous. I took a jog through the neighbored and returned to the hotel along the lakeshore drive waterfront trail with a full on skyline view. We walked to Michigan Avenue to shop and dine every day and hopped in an Uber for longer journeys.
Cons: The lobby was slammed when we arrived to check in. It took quite a while to store our luggage, then it took a while to get our luggage and make it to the room. The check in experience was chaotic and quite loud. Having said this, it was a holiday weekend and we arrived at the peak time of day.

Hotel was clean and their heavenly beds did no disappoint. Could have done a with a few more amenities in the bathroom such as nail file, cotton buds, but that is just being picky, overall good hotel, friendly staff, helpful bell team, comfortable and would certainly stay there again.

Cons: It was odd that there was no free wifi, you have to be a bonvoy member. I don't recall the last time I stayed somewhere without wifi. The other major complaint I have is that the concierge were rude - I spoke to two people, one man and one woman, who were both unkind and unfriendly when I asked simple questions. The man in particular was condescending and talked over me and seemed like he was talking down to me - really not appreciated.

Pros: I surprised my sister with a quick trip to Chicago for her 25th birthday! To kick start our stay, we were greeted warmly by the staff of the Whitehall! Sheri has the biggest smile and she made us feel right at home. Our room was incredible, awing is with a chandelier in the suite and cozy robes! This was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! The location is great, a hop skip and a jump from the Magnificent Mile, the Signature Room (for amazing sunsets) and delicious restaurants. Thank you to Sheri and all of the Whitehall staff for everything! We hope to be back again soon!

Cons: I found the staff very unwelcoming and acting like they were doing us a favour. They also gave us conflicting information. We only stayed for one night and were checking out in the morning. We were woken very early by cleaners hovering and then they came into see if we had left 2 hours before check out. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room was tiny. Very disappointing.

Pros: We liked the location of the Hotel and the associated history.
Cons: Was disappointed in the cost of breakfast which caused us to go outside to explore other more reasonable options. We were also disappointed in the room refrigerator which appeared to be a re-purposed honor bar which had no real temperature controls to better chill our water and leftovers and there was no microwave for heating anything.

Pros: Location is excellent! Room was clean and shower pressure excellent! Very small and tight but ok just as a base. We were 3 percent n the room with 3 large suitcases. Used gym once - good enough. Would stay here again!
Cons: First day - room wasn’t made up - only towels were changed. Thereafter - made up very nicely every day. Very small and tight but understand it’s a inner city hotel. Concierge and reception on a different level to hotel entry so never really interacted with them them.

Pros: Great location but bathroom designed by a man, no place to put your toiletries. Also the exhaust fan goes on when the light is on, you can’t leave the light on overnight as the noise would annoy your sleeping! Huge fitness center but lacking equipment based on the size. Need to add to weights and more cardiovascular options.

Cons: 1. The room was tiny and dingy, and kind of gross. 2. $15 "facilities fee". They gave a ridiculous list of "benefits" for the fee, like wifi and free ice water, things that are free at a $-- motel. 3. It said 4-star, but 3 would be a stretch.

Pros: Located along the Michigan venue, this hotel enjoys a very convenient transportation, we can reach the majority main sightseeings within walking distance. Although the breakfast is not covered in the room cost, the high quality is well worth. Also, the staffs are qualified and warm hearted.

Cons: The rooms are very small and claustrophobic. I could not stay here more than one night. There is no room for an easy chair and side table, and the desk chair hits the bed when you pull it out. There is no coffeemaker. The staff were not friendly.

Cons: It is very no-frills, not that clean (the carpet could use a good cleaning). The toiletry amenities were cheap. I would recommend only because Chicago is very expensive these days. But you won't want to hang out in the room.

Cons: The staff worked my booking so bad. The locked my room without any explanation or even contacting me. After staying the first of my four nights they told me that I was a no show. It was incredible! They didn’t knew what was going on. They gave me two free drinks for all the misunderstanding. Two free drinks! I asked for a wake up call that never arrived. Thanks that I put my alarms because if not probably I’ve lost my plane. The rooms are old but clean. The elevators are from the second part of the 20th century. I’m not staying here ever again.
