Everything was wonderful!
The excellent and warm hospitality
Location and property. Courteous staff and great amenities.
The rooms in this hotel were beautiful, the actual hotel is stunning as well, the spa and restaurants in the hotel were also beautiful! The only way this hotel fell down for us were the staff, it was missing the personal touch, we spent Christmas in the Waldorf Astoria and the staff there were absolutely amazing and so friendly and the Peninsula staff didn’t live up to them, we were made to feel out of place being young and English unfortunately, also the price of a standard room was more per night than a suite in the Waldorf Astoria. But overall the hotel and facilities were beautiful
It lacked a personal touch, the hotel was beautiful and the standards were really high but it missed that added sparkle, we weren’t happy the way we were treated on New Year’s Eve and I spoke to the manager and it was never recognised, I had to chase him up, and then he just brushed off my complaint which I understood his opinion but I wasn’t happy and something should have been done about that, we felt like other guests were always put ahead of us because we are young, English and just having a good time. If I had to compare the Waldorf Astoria and the peninsula which are two of the nicest hotels in Chicago me and my boyfriend would rather go back to the Waldorf just down to the service and feeling really welcomed there
Service was fast and friendly
The elevators were slow from lobby to ground level. The pool was like daycare for children. There should be time set aside for adults only to enjoy the spa.
