Pros: The staff were exceptional and the décor was inspired

Cons: Disappointed that I was there for only 1 night!

Pros: Hotel Gotham has by far been the most grand hotel I have stayed at. As an individual who’s life revolves around history and creative aesthetic the hotel has embodied the 20s art deco movement with exiting detail. The staff were all more than helpful with wonderful and enthusiastic service, not to mention all those suits. The room was spacious and cozy reflecting the elegance and decadence of the 20s with design details that set it apart from most other hotels such as the presentation of the minibar in the wardrobe, the hotel information presented in newspaper form, and my favourite the swag bags. Looking out of the exceptionally tall windows at night felt just like being in a film noir moment. Usually I would mention the price of a one night stay being quite expensive though for the amount paid we also received dinner and breakfast both of which were fabulous. I will find it hard to have a better smoked salmon and scrambled egg breakfast again. I also love how the hotel has made the stay into almost an immersive experience and I would defiantly recommend for special events, celebrations and even just a lavish overnight stay which is what myself and my partner did. A big thank you to the staff who made our stay so memorable we hope to see you again soon.

Cons: The only down side to the hotel, and this in itself did not devalue my stay in any way, It would have been interesting to have had leisure facilities such as Turkish baths or similar facilities though this is coming from someone who enjoys pools at hotels.

Pros: Classy decor, clean throughout. Location is great in central manchester. Rooms are well equipped, we had cheapest room but it still had a bathroom bigger than most hotel rooms in manchester! Coffee maker, bug tv, comfy bed. Hotel gas a rooftop bar with table service which was excellent. Staff are bang in form!

Cons: Oh hotel gotham... those drinks prices! Its expensive! Two cocktails and a bowl of crisps came to over thirty pounds! They were lovely, but you would expect them to be for that price!!

Pros: One of the best hotels I've had the pleasure of staying in. And I've stayed in a LOT of hotels.

Pros: Stayed in the Heywood directors room, felt spoilt with separate seating area and the tall ceiling with beautiful furniture. Fully stocked mini fridge if you want a drink.

We went to the theatre last Sunday evening and I thought the restaurant was open till late as that what it said on website and in book in room we arrived at about 9:30 and got told food stops been served at 9pm nowhere could I find where it said this and also the restaurant staff completly ignored me waiting there by the desk waiting to be attended to I had to go in and ask. At breakfast we were seated given coffee we were told we would be given a few minutes to decide what we wanted which was great but that turned into 25-30 minutes before our order was taken. Breakfast was cold but we ate it because we were so hungry. Also prefer the buffet breakfast back next time. There was enough people eating breakfast that it would of been viable to do (I'm a chef so understand these things..... It may of also been hotter in the serving dishes) and also the young Asian girl who has no idea about table numbers wouldn't have to struggle with every single dish she brings out

Pros: Absolutely fell in love with this hotel from the moment we stepped through the doors. We were given a lovely quiet room where we barely heard anything from outside.

Pros: This is a stunning building where most of the original features have been retained. The bar and restaurant is funky and modern yet in the most incongruous Victorian environment. Room was very high ceilinged and immaculately furnished and comedy and clean.

Cons: Downsides were no air con a bit cold and the place is a rabbit warren (though they do give you a map)

Pros: The double tree is a nice hotel at first glance. I found the staff at the front desk were not the most welcoming but that wasn't the biggest problem. The room was comfortable for the most part and me and my companion were looking foward to a nice stay.

Cons: The shower had two choices, freeze or burn. It was nearly impossible to get the shower at a normal temperature which was a huge issue. But we were only there for 2 nights so decided it would be better to give it another try than moving rooms. On our second night which was a Saturday we were awoken at 4 am by a group of drunk girls that were screaming down the hallway. I felt like I was transported to the worst spring break all inclusive. I called the reception 3 times and in all fairness they came up every time to get those stupid girls to shut up. Then their guy friends came from the party minutes later and started retaliating to help their skanky girlfriends. They were standing outside of our door yelling obscenities. I called again and eventually the noise stopped but at that point I had one more hour before having to get on a train to the airport so my entire night was ruined. While they were definitely responsive to the times I called they should have kicked these people out. What kind of reputation do you want to have? I know that on my next visit to Manchester staying at the double tree and staying at the hatters is pretty much the same. If you want to maintain an upscale reputation then be more selective about who you let stay in you hotel or at the very least have your front staff make the rules clear when these drunken idiots tumble in through the door of your hotel.

Pros: The breakfast was a full restaurant buffet with made-to-order omelettes. The best hotel breakfast we have ever had.

Cons: I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the rooms in the hotel. The lobby area has been renovated recently but the carpets and rooms seemed dirty and already dated. The bed was also uncomfortable.

Cons: The noise from the trams woke me up at 6 am. If I was to stay here again I would ask for a room on the other side of the building.

Pros: Rally great sense of 'feel; in this hotel - unexpectedly (for me, at least) stylish without being in any way false. Love it - and the staff were all super helpful, A very short walk to Manchester Piccadilly station

Pros: The staff were kind and very understanding, we were traveling for my mothers funeral. Both Maria and kasha ( reception/front of house) are excellent Ambassadors for the hotel and the Group. I wish I could deal With people like them all the time .so professional and considerate, really treating people as individuals Which is so important. Hotel is in a great location so central to everything in Manchester.

Cons: The View from our room. This wasn’t important , as the security and cleanliness were excellent and far more important ,although pillows aren’t comfortable I found them too hard ( just personal preference there). That’s an issue the hotel could address. The hotel and its staff were Just great.

Pros: We booked with very late notice after the football, as the trains back to London were all cancelled. Very easy to collect a key card and deposit it back the next morning in a box.

Cons: The rooms are decorated like a children's hospital, but they are very clean. The bathrooms are very small with no soaps, shampoos so take everything you need.

Pros: The staff couldn't be more helpful or available. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. And the bedroom was huge with the most amazing bathroom

Cons: The lobby had one working lift and looked more like a backstage area. Only one lift worked which took an age to arrive. Annoyingly I was on eighth floor. Air conditioning was also broken in my room. Hotel ignored feeeback email. Wouldn't recommend

Cons: The Parking was extortionate in price, not that there was any space to park which was ridiculous! Got to the hotel and found out there was a £20 charge for using the spa facilities which were 4 tiny rooms which were not appropriate in terms of temperature as you would expect a steam room or a sauna to be! There was no pool or other spa facilities apart from these 4 rooms for which the price was ridiculous! The lady at the spa reception didnt charge us thankfully as less than 10 mins into the quite dim, squashed and awfully miniature "spa" me and my husband were out of there very disappointed in having paid extortionate prices for the stay and then the parking issue and then on top of that the sadly tarnished expectations of the spa! We left the hotel the same night we checked in without staying at the hotel just flavergasted with the lack of explanation in regards to the facities and staff demeanour and attitude.

Pros: Rooms are a great size, bathroom was big, great shower, excellent location, no complaints, great hotel, I will be returning

Pros: Bed was big and comfy, spa and massage was very relaxing. Theres also a very cheap car park 2 minute walk from the hotels car park so I would advise to use that instead it's on the next road.
