The lobby in the hotel is beautiful and the chandelier sets it off
Had to faff around for half an hour when we got there as I wasnt aware that if you want to pay cash for your room you need ID . So had to call hubby for driving licence pic but then when i showed them the pic ,i had to email it as showing them wasnt good enough . We supposed to have booked a room without a window which I didnt mind but they wanted an extra 10 quid if we wanted a window but I declined but when got to the room we had a window lol. The room was dated . Stains on the bedding and the light in the bathroom was hanging out the ceiling . Very noisy . Hardly got any sleep at all
Difficult access to room Poor cleanliness Room temperature too low
The location was ideal for what I wanted being a stones throw from the venue I was visiting.
The hotel was clean, the staff very efficient and friendly, my stay comfortable but the décor is in desperate need of a refurbishment. The furniture in the room was basic but adequate for my needs. The actual hotel is a beautiful building, despite it's faults, I would be happy to stay there again.
No free internet in rooms for 24 hours
Fantastic location, and in a building with real history, and very reasonably priced.
While the building is fantastic, and claerly full of history and architectural merit, it is very tired and run down. If they shut it down, spent some money on bringing the interior up to 21st century standards, there would be nothing to touch it in central Manchester, and they could command much higher prices. But having said that, the room was clean, and I was only there for a night.
