Excellent 10,0
Pros: Jimmy was lovely - very helpful and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything you could possibly need for the night!
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Excellent service and great owner. If needed, one can leave their car parked there for a small fee if travelling from Liverpool Airport as well. Perfect for a good night sleep before an early flight and a 10 minute walk to airport.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: I found the room to be extremely comfy and the welcome to be as good. I would recommend the gateway to anyone staying around the airport.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Friendly welcome, simple check in process. Well designed and reasonably spacious rooms, especially the bathroom. Easy to adjust temperature. A seemingly reliable choice to stay on the eve of a flight. I would stay here again vs. an airport Hotel.
Cons: Mattress was on its last legs so was really flat and sagging in the middle.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: This lovely guest house is in a perfect location for Liverpool airport. The facilities at Gateway Lodge are extremely comfortable, lovely big bed, great shower, tea, coffee, hot chocolate in bed the room and use of the lounge downy. No breakfast included but I knew that when I booked and don't eat breakfast so glad I wasn't paying for something I wouldn't eat. Walk to the airport was 5 minutes and for a very small charge I was allowed to leave my car on the car park over the weekend. The host Jimmy was fantastic, very friendly, informative and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again and would have never reservations about recommending Gateway Lodge
Cons: Nothing I didn't like
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Very nice room clean and comfortable very friendly staffs
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great value, clean and 10 min walk to airport. Staff very friendly. Recommended.

Pros: Comfy bed, lovely host, good breakfast
Cons: Location a little out of the way, boiler in ensuite firing up.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Comfy accommodations; nicely appointed room. Tasty breakfast. Owner was very helpful with directions and suggestions for dining and local activities.
Cons: This isn’t a criticism of either the property or owner: on street parking can be a bit challenging before 5pm, as a number of people who work in the neighborhood also park there. After 5pm, no problem at all; found many spots right in front of the property.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Nice room and very friendly and helpful host
Okay 4,2
Pros: The owner was very nice and helpful on getting us to where he wanted to be.
Cons: The address was very misleading. Not given full address by booking. Com. Area wasnt the best. Room was very basic, no tv, very cheap carpets not very nice to walk on. Bed made a noise when you moved, single glazed window so lots of street noise. Bathroom was nice with a bath and over head shower but you had to be 4ft to use shower and bath was only half size. Breakfast was very poor, little choice of cereal, no cooked options. Bread but unable to toast cold meat and jam. Paid £130 for two, not worth the money and if we hadn't of paid wouldn't have stayed.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: The owner, John, was very helpful with his advice of what to see and do. The breakfast was excellent, made a change from the usual "fry-up". All told I enjoyed my stay and was quite sad to leave. Hope to go back sometime.
Cons: NOTHING
Excellent 10,0
Pros: We had a wonderful stay here and John certainly enriched our Liverpool experience through his knowledge of the city and his top tips.Wonderful breakfast which included some interesting touches: duck eggs, smoked salmon and various locally baked breads. Plenty of space in our room with a very comfortable bed and sofa. We will be recommending The Elegant House to friends and family!’
Excellent 8,8
Pros: The host John was informative, pleasant, helpful and made our stay a pleasant one. The room was adequate for our needs and clean and comfortable.
Cons: We felt the breakfast wasn't up to the standard of previous places we stayed. The lack of cereals was noticeable and not really up to our expectations. The entry to the front door were up steep steps and would be difficult for older people.

Good 7,9
Pros: The room, cleanliness, host, breakfast...
Cons: Being about 100m under the final approach for aircraft landing at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Good 7,1
Pros: Wanted somewhere to stay near the JLR Halewood plant and decided to try a quieter area than near John Lennon Airport at Speke. Hale village fits the bill in terms of location, being only 10 minutes or so from the plant. "The Cottage" B & B takes a bit of finding and has a small car park at the front. Check in or "reception" is actually through a metal gate in the rear garden as the front cottage on the right is nothing to do with the lodgings as such (according to a sign) so you need to knock on the door round the back as the bell by the gate didn't seem to work. I stayed in one of the external converted barns; pleasant enough; warm and clean. Good serviceable bathroom.
Cons: A couple of signs, one with directions how to find the place and a second , explaining how to get checked in, wouldn't go amiss. Indeed such information could easily be sent out with the room confirmation. Hale is also a small place with no restaurants as such and only two pubs. The Wellington Hotel wasn't serving food on the Monday evening I visited and was completely deserted so The Childe of Hale proved to be Hobson's choice since I didn't fancy driving about in the pouring rain looking for somewhere to eat. Very busy, the food was fairly average, and the beer a bit lacking so it was two pints of Guinness and an early night. It was certainly worth a look, but I'll probably try somewhere else next time. However no complaints about the room nor the breakfast; but just a bit remote in terms of location and things to do. Oh and it seems its on the flight path from the airport, albeit not a problem after midnight.
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Breakfast was brilliant - hostess friendly and helpful, and room very comfortable.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Really lovely oasis inbetween liverpool and Widnes would definitely come again
Good 7,9
Pros: Very friendly staff
Cons: Property is under airport flight pass.
Good 7,5
Pros: Very friendly and nice host family which made our stay really remarkable. Great garden with a lot of space. Breakfast was excellent and our dog had good company with the owner's dog. Good location in case you are planning a trip to Liverpool.
Cons: Room is directly under airport flight path. There at are not much dinner options in case you arrive late. The room was a bit small but OK.

Pros: It was very welcoming and staff were amazing
Cons: Nothing

Pros: location, 24 hour reception
Cons: breakfast running out of various items 40 minutes before scheduled end, hard bed,
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Comfortable room, perfect location. Great breakfast.
Cons: Evening monkeys menu was extremely limited so we had to go off site
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Excellent location for the airport. Large, clean room with comfortable bed and pillows. Friendly, efficient staff. Breakfast room open from 4 am so able to have coffee and croissant etc before early flight.
Cons: There isn't anywhere in the terminal building to get a hot meal so eating at the Hotel is the only option. There is rather a limited menu. I ordered a salad with salmon and although the fish was surprisingly well cooked I was offered cooking oil and malt vinegar as a salad dressing !
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Very friendly staff exceptional position for the airport fantastic quality and value for money including breakfast at silly o'clock in the morning perfect

Good 7,5
Pros: The gentleman that dealt with us when we arrived was helpful and friendly. The room was a good size.
Cons: The rooms could do with freshening up and the carpets need a good clean. Parking is hit and miss as it is street parking.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The house is quite close to the airport and Liverpool One with a direct buses connections. There are shops and bars on the same street. The room where I stayed was big and example features were a TV, electric kettle, tea, sugar, etc. Basically, very okay for short stay and when all you need is bed, because most of your time you spend outside.
Cons: The shower.

Cons: No locks on the shared bathroom toilet doors.

Pros: Lovely. Atmosphere quaint town
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Great pub downstairs with decent food etc.
Okay 5,8
Pros: The bed was comfy....although there were holes in the duvet cover! Shower was powerful. Location was good for what we wanted to do.
Cons: I thought the price was far too high for the standard of the hotel. The toilet was so noisy! Not sure if there is a macerator pump in the bathroom.... Very loud! There was a long dark hair in the bath. Not sure where that came from as my partner and I are both blonde!! We paid for breakfast, which was shocking value for what it was! I just had continental breakfast £4.95....cereal, toast and pain au chocolate...no fruit. But this was fine. My partner had a cooked breakfast for £6.95. One over cooked sausage, one small rasher of bacon, one fried egg, one hash brown and a tablespoon of baked beans. One piece of toast was on the side. All on a very large plate, but it was not worth paying £2 extra for! We shouldn’t have paid extra for breakfast and eaten out for the same price if not cheaper!....and would have had so much more! Going up again to Liverpool twice next year, but will not be staying at this hotel.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Breakfast was very good, staff extremely helpful and friendly!
Cons: Bathroom was not very clean
Good 7,0
Pros: Not very much. Dinner was OK but service was poor. The bed was appalling - soft and not comfortable.
Cons: Service at the bar and the system for ordering food.THE BED!!!!!
Excellent 9,2
Pros: The room was very cosy, comfy bed and large bathroom, breakfast was great hats off to Brian he does a great breakfast if he’s not in the kitchen then the breakfast definitely goes down a few notches , the staff were all very friendly.
Cons: The food could have been better had a steak one night tough and overcooked would have been nice to have a few sandwich choices in the evening
Excellent 9,6
Pros: Great location felt like you were on a village. They have great food offers on and a great selection of drinks, would definitely use again.
Cons: Nothing
Okay 4,2
Cons: Terrible rooms and water made noise all the time

NO INTERNET for 3 out of our 4 day stay.

Good 7,9
Pros: The food was very good and nothing was too much trouble.
Cons: Lack of local area maps of Liverpool.
Excellent 8,8
Pros: Room lovely and clean and quiet. Have stayed here several times.
Cons: Reception area looking a bit tired now
Excellent 8,0
Pros: free parking and easy access to Liverpool town centre and airport
Cons: nothing, ok for overnight stay
Good 7,1
Pros: Nice hotel with good parking space
Cons: Suffer from cigarette smoking whether from outside or next room
Okay 5,7
Pros: Majority of staff very polite and helpful good food and good sized room. The hotel is in pleasant surroundings although interior and exterior need updating and a decent decorator
Cons: On arrival our room was not ready even though we arrived at the correct time, the girl on reception was apologetic and tried to find a solution as by now there were five different parties waiting to check in, the manager walked through reception and his response was , well if theyre (the rooms) are not ready then they’re not ready’ and walked off. they did open the bar for us but not even an offer of a complimentary drink was given and we had to wait an hour to check in and then had find this information out ourselves.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Late check in Good shower Good breakfast
Cons: Room was a bit tired, conversion to en-suite left the shower cubicle constrained and felt like showering in a wardrobe.
Good 7,5
Pros: Lovely old building , rooms very spacious. Welcoming reception area.
Good 7,1
Pros: Lots of car parking . Friendly staff
Cons: Uncomfortable beds .
Good 7,1
Pros: The staff were friendly- when I saw them.
Cons: I did not like the fact that the back gate was locked all the time. There should be a buzzer or camera that you could use to get reception to unlock for you. I had no car and therefore had to walk alone along the main road then around the side of the garage to reach to the hotel. At night the paths were unlit and I did not feel safe. I also think that the reception staff should be more visible and not sitting away in the back room all the time.

Pros: I booked Beech Mount Groves Suite but had to go to Mountford Hotel first to get security codes where I was upgraded at no extra cost to a large room in the Hotel. Very comfortable.

Pros: The suites seemed very secure
Cons: Poor lightning outside the building ,especially where u park car. Kitchen facilities very poor place has 3 kitchens but u have to search each one to do items you need and was worktops , boards etc before u start cooking ! Also nobulb in a bedside lamp and as we were in suite 10 no WiFi signal reaches the room so u had to go sit on lower floor landing !

Pros: The hotel in general was nice an the tea an coffee was a nice touch.
Cons: Single glazed windows was a bit chilly
Excellent 8,8
Pros: quiet rooms in a good location for Sefton park. good value for money
Good 6,7
Pros: Comfortable beds, warm and spacious room.
Cons: Parking space for one car ( on the website says parking in site available but didn’t mention how many cars). Poor water pressure and when you use it the sound is the same when the airplane is taking off (very noisy). Dust everywhere, on the table, on the floor, tv stand, even on the headboard. The milk for coffee/tea was horrible... seemed like it was there for a very long time.
Mediocre 3,8
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: Its was very low budget, not worth the £81 I was charged. Room was full of spiders and the mattress was very uncomfortable, the shower was tiny and the windows didn't block any noise from outside.
Excellent 9,2
Pros: Very friendly staff, helpful and decent service for this kinda price in every ways. Yes, the room was a bit dated, but for us this was even better because we're really like the "classic" English styles and every little silly British traditional solutions like the two water taps on the sink, et cetra. Other opinions like Beatrix 's from Hungary- the different location of the Ullet suites from the Mountford Hotel was stated very clearly from the beginning of the booking. We spent some really great time here, thanks for the Mountford-Ullet Suites complex. Definitely would come back.
Cons: Our expectations for this price were much less than that we got, so wouldn't really complain. Keep up the price-value balance, naturally there is always things that you can improve.
