It would be difficult to say that I 'liked' this hotel. The room was pretty clean - no A/C but our room had a Dyson Hot/cool, fan in it. Presumably there's no heating in winter? Breakfast was avereage. As in so many hotels there was a problem, and a queue, with the sole toaster.
Frankly it's a little like visiting a busy airport lounge. We did receive help in checking in from a friendly member of staff but the check in is a horrible, impersonal, computerised affair around a set of computer screens resembling the Tardis control panel. There is the mandatory massive TV in an uncomfortable 'lounge area' with a bar. I imagine it would be quieter if there hadn't been a wedding in full swing. Our room was adequate - obviously no view, this is not a country hotel, with evidence that our room door had had a jemmy to prise it open at some point in the past. Paul Simon's song lyric from 'Duncan' sprang to mind at night - 'Couple in the next room bound to win a prize' ... I hope it was the happy couple. You need a car. There's nothing else really around. PortSunlight village is a drive away across the very busy A41.
Charged food and drink to my room that I didn’t Order and I have to wait for a refund
The staff were very helpful, TV remote would not work, it was missing the TV remote but the manager got me one very quickly and sorted the issue and even gave me a beer on the house to say sorry. I left a letter in the restaurant at break, rang them later they had it and posted it for me all in all a very good stay and I will be back
I arrived late and unfortunately there is no food served after 10.00. Being able to get a sandwich or something would be helpful after a long day of travelling
Starbucks, Bar, Sports Theme
Food service, lack of Single Malt / Whiskey options
