Pros: Me & my partner visited for 2 nights and I can’t fault the hotel at all. I must mention Marcus in the main bar, he is certainly an asset to your company. He was very professional, helpful and very friendly. Also the gentleman at reception (sorry I can’t remember his name) was lovely and friendly. If it helps we stayed 2 nights from 19th feb 2020.

Cons: We were disappointed by the lack of personal attention given that we stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and had a special occassion - our wedding night. The spa facilities were outdated, the temperature of the pool was too cold.

Cons: On the night we booked our Xmas meal in the restaurant it was closed for a private Xmas party, but although we were encouraged to book this they didn't tell us that until we came down for dinner. We were sent to a small room at the rear of the hotel, undecorated, no Christmas feel and it was very noisy because of the party next door. They tried to charge us extra because it was a Friday night. When we complained they reduced the cost of the meal by £3. We felt cheated and it spoilt our last night in York.

Cons: Had to change rooms because the first smelled strongly of mildew. Had to spend first night at a different hotel because renovations hadn’t been completed. We were not advised of this until a few hours before check-in. Staff was friendly but clearly very rushed at check-in. Areas of the hotel were closed. Everyone was very nice but not particularly welcoming. Did everything tone accommodating but should have probably let us stay in sister hotel rather than having us move in the middle of our visit.

Cons: Perhaps more staff on at breakfast. We also had to wait for a table. I needed clean cutlery and I had to keep asking busy staff. I couldn't see any teaspoons for tea or yoghurts. Also our dirty pots were piling up and it would have been better if they were cleared away quicker without having to ask.

Cons: Family rooms are smallest we’ve ever stayed in. 4 in a room is a joke. When we questioned it we were told its published on their website how small they are. So therefore not acknowledging the fact, but saying we should have checked. The receptionist almost read off a script that it’s published online, so im guessing most people complain.

Cons: There were a few minor issues Room was extremely hot but a fan was provided. It was noise in the morning with then Kitchen staff were making breakfast which was below our room. One strange thing was where we were allowed to keep our bags before we checked in our room...this room was unmanned unlocked. I would of liked to keep out luggage somewhere secure, although on request the staff did keep my laptop at reception instead Wireless access was poor had problems connecting.
