very helpfull meet & greet with 3 hour early arrival being allowed into a room. Good talk with manageress over food problems
We invited 2 friends to dinner. The food was very poor quality, small portions of a sad fish dish with high charges for very inadequate veg extras.
It is said that northerners are friendlier and more welcoming than other areas of the country...absolutely correct, the staff that we met were all the same polite warm and professional an absolute credit to the hotel.
Cheaper parking, as the birds in the car park trees must have had nervous stomachs judging by the amount of ahem guano covering the car. Yuk
Upon arrival at Hotel du Vin, we were warmly welcomed by the girls on reception, and by all the staff during our staff. Due to a busy weekend (York races) which we did not know about until we arrived at the hotel - the staff on reception upgraded our room to a suit, as we had paid over the asking price on the website (we booked the day before, so had very little hotel options in the centre). Additionally, Hotel du Vin is dog friendly, which was a massive bonus for us, as we were struggling to find anywhere else available, last minute, in the city centre. They even brought a dog bed and food bowls to our room for our pooch! We had dinner on our first night at the hotel and we were able to dine with our dog. We could have sat inside, however as the weather was good, we chose to dine outside. Another bonus - vegan options! And delicious vegan options. Overall, an absolutely gorgeous stay at Hotel du Vin. Shout out to all the staff that looked after us SO well - especially Alice & India!
Great waiter at breakfast! Really friendly & took the time to engage with my daughter and make her laugh. Breakfast also really tasty.
Nice hotel in convenient location for everything.
