Washington hotels near Octagon Museum

Cons: I got lost trying to find the elevator but that experience added to my sense of security (and awe) while staying the hotel.

Cons: The internet was not very good and very difficult to use.I was locked out of my room while getting ice because my key wouldn't work. I had to go to the front desk and waited for quite a while to be escorted back to my room to verify who I was. Our last day the water was scalding hot and we couldn't get any cold water even the water in the toilet was steaming hot.

Cons: The staff was universally rude. Our room's toilet broke and flooded the bathroom. They "fixed" it, and then it happened again. Would not stay here again given all the other options in the immediate area.

Cons: When we stay in $50 rooms in little Maine motels, the WiFi is free and as fast or faster than here! For $10-15, I expected much better.

Cons: Shower was much smaller than expected for a nice hotel. Doormen and valet service were inattentive and slow. Food and drinks the bar were hit or miss but overall slightly worse than might be expected.

Cons: WiFi in room should be free and food pricey.

Cons: - Air conditioning so loud, it was similar to a Day's Inn. - Expensive parking. The parking fee increased 20% from the time I booked the room ($40/night) to the time I stayed ($48/night). Hotel should hold the parking rate for reservations locked in months prior to a rate increase.

Cons: slow, to non-existent service in the lobby lounge, room wasnt ready until after 4PM. Rooms are smaller in size, and bathroom is not of the caliber of a 5 star hotel

Cons: Wireless charge of like $15 is ridiculous in this day and age.

Cons: Everything very pricey, but not out of line with the area.

Cons: Myself, brother and cousin stayed for a night as we had a 5K to run the next morning. The toilet overflowed/leaked. An engineer came in to try to fix it and let us know he couldn't do anything about it. We could still use the bathroom but the water pressure is low and can't fix it at the time being so the hissing sound from the water continuously running will be there for the entire night. They offered to move us to a different room which both options were on a lower floor and facing louder sides of the street/atrium, which in my opinion wasn't comparable to the 10th floor room that was facing a quiet side of town. I decided to stay in the room and asked for ear plugs and some water. Thinking that they'd offer at least complimentary water service--didn't happen. Then around 1:30AM close to 2AM--someone came into our room. Luckily the lock handle up top was flipped and the person couldn't fully enter. It startled my cousin and I. We looked through the peephole and saw that it was an employee/an engineer who heard us and left. Obviously, we were shooken up by a stranger barging into our room. Probably thought that we were transferred to a new room and wanted to come and fix the toilet overnight. Good idea in theory but lack of communication to let them know that we were staying in the room. Either way--called the manager--they offered two breakfast buffet tickets and I declined since we were going to be out of the room by then for the race. Didn't rest much, had to deal with the hissing sound of the broken toilet of the property and had a stranger try to come into the room in the middle of the night which made us feel unsafe. Overall, the experience was not a good one.

Cons: There was a huge stain on our carpet and the toilet was SO loud when flushed that it woke the other person anytime someone flushed in the middle of the night. The shower liner was also dirty which was the grossest part. They were doing renovations on the hotel and did not make us aware of this when we booked the reservation. The only operating elevators in the hotel stopped working temporarily. We had to call down and let someone know and then walked down 6 flights of stairs which is fine since we are in good shape but very dangerous for someone handicapped or disabled. 9:30am we were awoken to the sounds of construction from within the hotel. 9:30 isn't really early so we weren't too mad but they should still warn their guests ahead of time that there will be renovations and construction in the morning.

Cons: Unfortunately our room was on the street side (I did ask for a room with a view) and even though we were on an upper floor, the street noise was much more than expected. Sirens and honking and back-up beeping kept us up most of the three nights we stayed. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable as well. There were no lights on the desk and tv side of the room-only on the bed side. We found that odd as it was difficult to see while reading or writing at the desk. The bathroom was spacious, but I would have liked a "night" light or dimmer in the bathroom for at night.

Cons: As an Ohio State Buckeye fan, there on the annual rival between OSU and Michigan, we wore our OSU gear and decided we liked the hotel bar nooks of chairs around TV. We were so disappointed the bar only plays music and the TV’s are muted. There were other guests also asking to hear the game. First staff said they can’t play the TV volume. Then they said they would try but there was no one in house that knew how to. We certainly would have spent the time at another establishment. I’m glad I wasn’t hearing impaired. No one on site even knew how to put on subtitles to follow the story. Didn’t expect that negative experience.

Cons: They dont have an AC.They have a heater and if you tell them your room is too hot, they asked us to open a window They gave a loud fan which made noise than cool the room. The room is tiny.The flush in the restroom was inefficient. There is no option to park your own car.The valet service is mandatory and is an additional 45$ per night. No inhome laundry service. We walked in from the rain soaking wet and they said they didnt have a dryer in house.

Cons: Would have enjoyed better towels, a hook in the bathroom and an extra blanket. The air conditioning was a bit difficult to adjust.

Cons: The toilet was really low, hard for tall people with bad knees. The bed could have been a little more comfortable. The A/C blows on the bed if you don't adjust the levers. There's not enough light by the mirror for makeup, they need to have a movable mirror that you can take to the desk. Only one of the bedside lamps worked. One of the elevators was down, so it sometimes took a long time to get to the room.

Cons: Be sure to ask for a quiet room. The traffic on Mass. Ave. side can be heard even on the higher floors.

Cons: My only complaint is that the windows really need to be replaced. The up/down casement windows tended to slide down from the top, which let in a draft. Also, they are single-pane, which allow every noise outside into the room, and I was on the 7th floor. Tuesday morning trash pick-up was especially vivid, and a construction project that was a block away sounded like it was next door.

Cons: Upon entering hotel the check in was poorly run I attempted to use the self check in terminal But it informed me after several pages and key strokes that it was not working So got in line at the personnel check in. I stood for 22 minutes as the two people working the counter dealt with 2 customers The staff would not make eye contact with those of us in line Poor customer service training The staff should always acknowledge those waiting with eye contact and a few words Such as " we will be with you as soon as we can thankuou for your patience" They did not get anyone to come help and deal with the issues of the two people that were wanting satisfaction over their bill or Parking fee Etc. Just a poor introduction to a nicely appointed hotel

Cons: Hotel lobby shop was typical "airport prices" for anything you'd want, making You feel like a fool if you didn't to walk across the street and buy a snack or coffee at 1/3 price.

Cons: Valet constantly begging for tips. Being from Vegas I tip almost excessively however if someone begs for it or nearly has his hand out the entire time it is not coming. It's called a gratuity for a reason. Then when delivering the vehicle no opening the trunk, and doesn't return the seat to where they found it or at least close. Not much effort in valet.

Cons: Restaurant (breakfast) food just ok.

Cons: Some areas close to the hotel didn't feel the safest for walking. Quickly figured out which direction was best to walk to avoid those areas. TV was broken (didn't complain while we were there because I only tried to watch the day we were packing to leave).

Cons: Hidden charges. $58 a night to park. Nowhere did I see that when I booked the trip. $8 for a draft beer that should be $3, I get a call from security in the evening waking me up, stating that the policy is to call if the do not disturb sign is out. The do not disturb sign was out, I didn't want to be disturbed. Couldn't go back to sleep. I'm a small business owner, if I treated my customers that way, I would be out of business. I will never give that hotel a dime again.

Cons: I booked my stay two month prior for a King Bed for one night. When I got there, they said they were sold out of King Bed's and all they had were two doubles. Not the biggest deal, but what is the point of booking a King in advance if that is not what is available? Also, our room did have a musty smell to it when we first got it. After running the air for a bit, it went away.

Cons: Handing me a sack of terrible food at my door is not room service.

Cons: Lack of parking requires you to valet for $56 a day. If you are somebody that needs a great view you won't find it here.

Cons: The bathroom wasn't fully clean upon check-in. I called the front desk and they quickly moved us to a new room.

Cons: Several bellmen standing out front when I arrived, but none greeted me as I exited the cab. Room had an odor, and bed was lumpy. Rates were high due to tourist season, so value was offset by 'not so goods'.

Cons: The restaurant was not appealing. Not many closeby restaurants or shops. No convenience stores nearby. Walmart is about 15 minute walk which is not far, but I'm not sure if it's safe to walk at night. There is a liquor store across the street, but it's not a convenience store so the items are limited. No refrigerator in the room.

Cons: Strangely they never seemed to pick up the dirty dishes from room service except for once a day. The same dirty plates and half eaten food was sitting in the hallway outside of the rooms for more than 10 hours one day. Gross.

Cons: The location was not good. I did not feel safe walking back to the hotel day or night. The hotel was surrounded by homeless.

Cons: The only critical comment I can make is that the conditioner toiletry bottle was empty.

Cons: Only complaint is the pool was supposed to be open late , but two of our three nights there it closed almost two hours early.

Cons: I think that shall offers more dish in the lunch, they had very few dish for choose. I had that go to other place to eat lunch. But in the dinner if had deliciuos dish.

Cons: The clerk in the gift shop could have been more upbeat.

Cons: We upgraded to a buffet breakfast, which was lacking and the hot food was cold. Not a good value at $25/ person, but at a hotel, I understand the price, but if the food is cold, then it was a waste of money.
