Pros: All the staff, from greeters in front to the parking attendant to the cleaning staff to everyone in between were exceptionally gracious and welcoming. We were able to stay in the concierge level rooms and the extra benefit of using the bar and amenities was fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Many kudos to Opal, she was a wonderful hostess, very gracious and friendly, as were all the staff throughout your hotel. We would recommend you to all and look forward to another stay.

Cons: Too expensive for an outdated hotel, rooms are very average and look like a holiday inn, lobby are was very crowded all the time with non-hotel guests so there was no space for the hotel guests, gym opens too late at 8am. The hotel looks more like a $120/noght type of hotel. I think it is one of the worst Fairmont hotel´s I´ve stayed at.

Cons: The reservation staff are not friendly and welcoming, My room was the worst I guess in the hotel, despite my efforts to change it, the gentleman treated me as you take it or leave, I was surprised by his attitude .The shower is outdated,needs to be changed to new easy use. The AC is terrible in my room, blowing on the bed. I don’t understand why the restaurant in 5 stars hotel close on Monday???

Special praise for a portuguese recepcionist. 4) They knew it was my honeymoon trip, so they prepared me a surprise. A really nice champagne (i am picky about that). 5) It was raining, so they borrowed me two umbrelas, free of charge. 6) Can walk to 90% of the atractions of the city. Hope i can repay by coming back soon. Way to go guys.

Cons: My only complaint is that the windows really need to be replaced. The up/down casement windows tended to slide down from the top, which let in a draft. Also, they are single-pane, which allow every noise outside into the room, and I was on the 7th floor. Tuesday morning trash pick-up was especially vivid, and a construction project that was a block away sounded like it was next door.

Pros: I actually stayed in two different rooms, the second being slightly larger than the first (we switched to a room without a connecting door after one became available). The rooms have a refrigerator but no microwave. At first we would have liked a microwave also but we got used to it. Besides, the awesome hot breakfast buffet (or they would honor some special requests) took care of breakfast and lunch practically for us. The wait staff on the mezzanine level was very friendly and efficient. Then, of course, the Westin is known for their "heavenly" beds. Many years ago when these were introduced, I stayed at a Westin in Chicago for a conference--that experience sold me. Our main concern at times was regulating the heat in the room--it was sometimes cooler than expected. The hotel's temperature in general was on the cool-side. Its location was fine and really within walking distance to a nice variety of eating places and the metro was not too far away. Obviously, the opportunities for museums and activities, including movies, are within reasonable distances. We also used "lyfts" although cabs are in abundance--and brave people can rent out various scooter conveyances.

Pros: We stayed two separate nights a few days apart. Although this was our first stay we felt as though we were treated as VIPs. Everything and everyone we encountered was first class and the service was over the top. We came out of the cold night air into a warm and welcoming lobby and were served up a cup of the most rich and delicious homemade hot cocoa. We were always greeted with a smile, personal care and every little need met beyond our wishes. There are very few places that stand out in terms of service and quality. As an independent hotel it's obvious that Hamilton goes the extra mile. We will always return to the Hamilton whenever we return to DC.

Cons: Front desk is short staffed and not super knowledgeable or polite. Room had mildew smell and A/C did not work at all. I also did not appreciate the hidden hotel fee on top of room rate (about 24/nt).

Pros: The location was nice, it wasn’t in the center of DC so it easily accessible to drive into. On the same block it had plenty of restaurants and had a 15 minute walk to the metro station. The hotel staff saved my rating from being near a zero. They were so kind and helped us out in any way they could. The hotel was very modern and updated looking.

Pros: Horrible experience highly disappointed in the Hilton. My stay included a security deposit of 75$ a night which was not included in any of the booking details. Parking is 52$ a night, I have never stayed in a hotel that I had to pay for parking. I was moved rooms twice overall I give the Washington Hilton two thumbs down.

Cons: I am a Elite member for Marriot Hotels. I decided to check out the Hilton to see how their competitors checked out. I used booking.com to make my reservation. The total for the hotel was suppose to be $340 including taxes and other fees. When I went to go check in my new total was over $500. Parking was nearly an extra $200. I understand an increased priced for valet parking but self parking was over $50 a night. Seriously, $50 a night to park my own damn car? Also, when I went into my room I immediately noticed a trace of dust all over the furniture. Regardless if the room was cleaned after a person exited, it should still be kept in shape for the next guest whenever that may be. Then, there was an issue with an improperly placed fire alarm. The alarm was placed right outside the bathroom. So, every time I got out of the shower and opened the bathroom door the alarm went off. Finally, the last strike was the poor class shown on the last day. On my last day I had woken up with a severe cold and was having issues breathing, I have severe asthma. The original check out time is 11am but since I was feeling so awful I wanted to stay till 2pm so I could just head straight over to the airport instead of walking around the city feeling like hell. This damn hotel charged me 50% of the nightly fee just to stay for three more hours. Check in time doesn’t even start till 4pm so it wasn’t even like I wanted to stay past when new guests would be arriving.

Cons: I had booked for double bed room but they did not have one. They gave some other available room. Sofa turn bed and another moveable bed. Horrible experience. When checkedin, hotel staff was saying you got a cheap price and they do not have a room now.

Cons: Rooms were provided with paper cups only. Seriously? try mixing a drink in a paper cup. Customer services was unable to provide any glasses. I was charged $6 for a bottle of water. Again, seems cheesy for an otherwise nice place. There were additional facility fees and charges that were not disclosed at checkin. Annoying, but not a deal breaker.

Cons: The overall hotel was just blah. The walls are thin and the hotel is located next to a fire station and so we heard sirens all night. Our hotel room overlooked dumpsters but we weren’t expecting much more. The room overall just felt shabby and needing updates - wall paper bubbling, chipping tub tiles, etc the bed wasn’t the most comfortable either but it was good for what we needed - a place to sleep. However the parking situation was the most irritating because to park is $50 but we were told if we stayed less than 24 hours we would only be charged the hours we parked. This was not the case and still had to pay the $50 for only being parked there for 18 hours.
