Washington hotels near Bernardo de Galvez Statue

Cons: Tiny gym, mold in the bathroom grout, room amenities were average, surprising amount of wear and tear in our room for a hotel in this category.

Cons: Colonial parking provides valet parking at the Willard for $55 per night. They refused to tell me about any other options when there was another parking garage just behind the hotel. I won't return to the Willard until they lower their parking rates.

Cons: If you forget to tip housekeeping each morning, don't expect clean towels.

Cons: Miscommunication in the lounge regarding a wine selection, and subsequently being overcharged.

Cons: The closet space in the room I had was limited and would probably be tight for two people. This is a very small fault in an otherwise very pleasant stay.

Cons: No drinking water in the lobby. Beds not comfortable

Cons: Cannot think of anything. Oh, there is one little thing, the front door to my room, number 302, sticks. I meant to inform the front desk, but it was so insignificant compared to everything else, that I forgot.

Cons: I can honestly say that there was nothing bad about this trip...my wife and I had a wonderful time!

Cons: The refrigerator was broken. We were able to make due with ice from the hall.

Cons: No premium channels. Broken toilet that was "fixed" twice but I had to fix it myself a couple times. No water pressure. House keeping only left us with 1 towel. View of a brick building 6ft from my window. Bar staff were disruptive and joking loudly with doormen while people waited at the bar.

Cons: Hair dryer could use an upgrade but was definitely sufficient to get the job done.

Cons: Most of the staff was excellent but one person was not friendly and didn't make effort to upgrade the room since the door of the room they gave me was broken. A second person immediately changed the room for the better.

Cons: Room service was very expensive, there was a $10 delivery fee, then 18% gratity automatically added, and when they deliver, then there’s another line for a tip the receipt. Also the air conditioning in the room was terrible. By day 3, I would say it finally got to 74 in the room, after being set to 65 the entire time.

Cons: Myself, brother and cousin stayed for a night as we had a 5K to run the next morning. The toilet overflowed/leaked. An engineer came in to try to fix it and let us know he couldn't do anything about it. We could still use the bathroom but the water pressure is low and can't fix it at the time being so the hissing sound from the water continuously running will be there for the entire night. They offered to move us to a different room which both options were on a lower floor and facing louder sides of the street/atrium, which in my opinion wasn't comparable to the 10th floor room that was facing a quiet side of town. I decided to stay in the room and asked for ear plugs and some water. Thinking that they'd offer at least complimentary water service--didn't happen. Then around 1:30AM close to 2AM--someone came into our room. Luckily the lock handle up top was flipped and the person couldn't fully enter. It startled my cousin and I. We looked through the peephole and saw that it was an employee/an engineer who heard us and left. Obviously, we were shooken up by a stranger barging into our room. Probably thought that we were transferred to a new room and wanted to come and fix the toilet overnight. Good idea in theory but lack of communication to let them know that we were staying in the room. Either way--called the manager--they offered two breakfast buffet tickets and I declined since we were going to be out of the room by then for the race. Didn't rest much, had to deal with the hissing sound of the broken toilet of the property and had a stranger try to come into the room in the middle of the night which made us feel unsafe. Overall, the experience was not a good one.

Cons: There was a huge stain on our carpet and the toilet was SO loud when flushed that it woke the other person anytime someone flushed in the middle of the night. The shower liner was also dirty which was the grossest part. They were doing renovations on the hotel and did not make us aware of this when we booked the reservation. The only operating elevators in the hotel stopped working temporarily. We had to call down and let someone know and then walked down 6 flights of stairs which is fine since we are in good shape but very dangerous for someone handicapped or disabled. 9:30am we were awoken to the sounds of construction from within the hotel. 9:30 isn't really early so we weren't too mad but they should still warn their guests ahead of time that there will be renovations and construction in the morning.

Cons: Unfortunately our room was on the street side (I did ask for a room with a view) and even though we were on an upper floor, the street noise was much more than expected. Sirens and honking and back-up beeping kept us up most of the three nights we stayed. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable as well. There were no lights on the desk and tv side of the room-only on the bed side. We found that odd as it was difficult to see while reading or writing at the desk. The bathroom was spacious, but I would have liked a "night" light or dimmer in the bathroom for at night.

Cons: As an Ohio State Buckeye fan, there on the annual rival between OSU and Michigan, we wore our OSU gear and decided we liked the hotel bar nooks of chairs around TV. We were so disappointed the bar only plays music and the TV’s are muted. There were other guests also asking to hear the game. First staff said they can’t play the TV volume. Then they said they would try but there was no one in house that knew how to. We certainly would have spent the time at another establishment. I’m glad I wasn’t hearing impaired. No one on site even knew how to put on subtitles to follow the story. Didn’t expect that negative experience.

Cons: We left our towels hung up to save them, and conserve energy, and they were replaced anyway.

Cons: Even the website saying parking was included, i guess when you book a reservation trough expedia or another website parking is not included.... they ripped me off 40 bucks when the week before it was included... Shady

Cons: The only thing I’d have liked to have seen that was missing was a laundry room of some kind.

Cons: They did not provide any miniature toothpaste or mouthwash in the bathroom and there were no robes! Most hotels of this caliber do, so I was surprised. The TV remote frustrated my husband!

Cons: We had issues with our air conditioning which we told the staff about but nothing was fixed and our room was muggy and damp.

Cons: Bathroom was slightly small but very clean.

Cons: Wireless Internet unusable. Even just casual surfing was painful. Don't even think about streaming video. Wired internet was plenty fast. Seems to be a wireless congestion issue. TV remote was VERY frustrating. Anything other than standing directly in front of the TV from about 3 feet away and the remote wouldn't work. The heater in my room did not work, just blew cold air. Rooms are tiny...don't seem like great value for the price. ($300/day average for one week's stay).

Cons: It was pretty inconvenient that our room didn't have a microwave. And having to pay for parking seemed absurd.

Cons: Everything about the hotel was great. One of the reasons I liked it was because it was smoke-free however, the room smelt of smoke the last night we stayed and even again in the early morning before we checked out. Not the hotels fault, was just disappointing.

Cons: I would suggest providing free in-room wifi for free to keep business travelers wanting to return for ease and amenity.

Cons: The location is a bit out of the way if you need to be in the city for mreetings and sometimes it is hard to get a taxi. Also, there is only one coffee shop, which is expensive, and there is no coffee in the rooms.

Cons: Everyone else that wasn't at the gym or cleaned my t for free wasn't very nice. I always smile and say thank you and please it isn't even hard to be nice to me. Just polite would be enough but most the staff was pretty confrontational for no reason it was a torture b/c i don't like confrontation at all. It's doesn't seem that hard to me to simply answer to a question without a frown. Makes me feel very bad. Hated that really. And they made me wait like 20 mins at the restaurant and didn't take my order. All I did was ask to sit next to the garden (smiled said please and even thank you).

Cons: Dirty towels in bathroom not cleaned up from previous guest Room service tray still outside/full of food when I arrived at hotel to check in Not very quiet, pretty early. Was in wing near rooms being used for convention and heard clatter of plates and furniture very early and very loudly.

Cons: The hotel is dated. The window air conditioner kept the room too cold and woke me up often

Cons: The rooms are big but the negative space could have been utilized, the bathroom was way too small, housekeeping was very noisy all throughout the night.

Cons: A party on our floor was raging til 4am when it was finally ended due to police intervention despite many phone call to front desk beginning at 10pm. Got $50 off stay but should have been completely comped.
