10,0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed at this Hotel many times, it is perfect in every way, cannot fault anything about it.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Virtually everything was fine. We've stayed at the Bahia Tropical several times.
Cons: We would have preferred the bacon at breakfast to be coked a little more. Also quite a bit of the fresh fruit at breakfast eg: plums was under ripe. Otherwise the breakfasts were good.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, plenty of space
Cons: Location
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good.Great choice.
Cons: The meals were disappointing.Hot food was only warm. The internet connection was poor
9,0 Excellent
Pros: great hotel with swimming pool in the patio, big room wit balcony with sight on the sea, large breakfast and dinner buffets, spa and sun roof with whirlpool
9,0 Excellent
Pros: the breakfast was nice plenty of choice all the staff very helpful and the room was very nice the beds where very comfortable slept well , and the location of the hotel was great also the evening entertainment was good very happy would recommend
6,2 Good
Pros: Buffet included with stay
Cons: Adult only water polo for two hours in the middle of the day, in the kids section of the pool. Water activities for adults should be on the deeper end of the pool, kids could not enjoy the pool for two hours and other guests kept getting hit with the ball. When we tried to ask the stuff to move th activity to the deeper end of the pool we were ignored.
Hotel Best Alcazar - Almuñécar - Building

7,5 Good (4 160 reviews)
R1 442+
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hotel Best Alcazar in Almunecar, you'll be by the ocean, within a 15-minute walk of Playa de la Herradura and Ensenada de los Berengueles. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and an elevator. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room was really nice and comfortable, the pool area was spacious and the main bar was also good. The staff were in the main very good and helpful.
Cons: As difficult as it is to keep food hot in a buffet style restaurant, the 'hot' buffet food was never more than luke warm which was a real shame. Plenty of choice and we enjoyed our meals, salad's were good so definitely not complaining about the choice just not hot. Also there was only ever 1 chef working on the grill so the first 10 or so people got what they wanted and the rest if they were lucky got what was left or in a lot of the cases got nothing at all unless you were prepared to stand in the queue for another 15 minutes for the next fresh cook to be ready ! Again just a moan and not difficult to resolve with an extra chef !
7,5 Good
Pros: Interesting variation of food, dogfish was nicer than I expected!
Cons: Outdoor pools empty until leaving,I would have thought the pools could have been filled by easter holidays period even if cold.....
4,6 Okay
Cons: I sure dont hope this is the best what best Alcázar can offer, they have losts to improve! Main point is that they are way to strict with their rules: an empty pool, and children aren’t allowed to Play with a ball, a simple jacuzzi only for >12 year olds, if you want to eat dinner in the conference size hall with no atmosphere, man not allowed in with shorts, parking is only allowed on your assigned spot. Although the parking was nearly empty, the clerk wasn’t thoughtful enough to assign us the spot in front of the elevator that opened directly in front of our appartment. The apartment was the worst we’ve seen in years, totally no atmosphere, completely outdated. And the playground for children seriously needs a new floor. The current is full of holes where childers’ feet easily can get stuck
7,5 Good
Pros: Mostly very good
Cons: Registering to get a reduced car park space was a real pain. Car park cost of NOT registering was exorbitant. Hotel virtually inaccessible without car
5,0 Okay
Pros: The girls at the reception were friendly and helpful and in general the room was clean.
Cons: Complete chaos at the restaurants as families and kids were all geared up for the Halloween night and we did not get the relaxed stay we were planning.
7,9 Good
Pros: The view was beautiful, it was fantastic.
Cons: When you shower, it flooded l all thru the rooms, we use all our towels to control the water, i hope they think of something to fix it, otherwise it ruin the floors and doors.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff Gabriela and Fernando made us feel so welcome especially on our arrival. Gabriela gave us fabulous local information about parking and the local vicinity. The room was so clean and lovely. We had a terrace with a great sea view. We were also welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine, strawberries and chocolate brownie in the room. The food was great at all meals. There was a great choice and it was well cooked. The staff on the restaurant were very friendly and switched on. We loved our stay and even though it was only for one night Gabriela and Fernando could not have been friendlier. A great hotel to stay in. We would consider looking at this chain on other areas if this is the standard . Thank you Gabriela and Fernando.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike
7,0 Good
Pros: Beautiful warm pool , top terrace has mazing views, hotel is very spacious and super clean.Great breakfast .Fantastic welcome in rooms: cava and brownies with personalise welcome card, very nice touch
Cons: Bed was really small and could here water running in pipes really loudly which was really odd from other accomodations
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Mattress perfect for a good sleep
Cons: The communal lounge and entertainment space is loud and echoes not a comfortable space to relax
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful bright modern room with good size bathroom, large terrace, amazing breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Staff are all really friendly, from reception to bar to restaurant. Location is good, on the beach front line. Food was very good, loads of different options everyday, the only downside was that it was cold. Suite with the hot tub is amazing - totally worth the upgrade.
Cons: Suite is not dark enough at night due to the bathroom having no thick blinds. The bathroom door is made of glass so even if you shut it the morning light still comes through.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: All was spot on
6,2 Good
Pros: Close to beach, decent room, rooftop bar w spectacular views
Cons: Not so much "didn't like" but it was an odd mix... There were lots of older tourists and some families many of whom seemed to enjoy the ok buffet in the basement restaurant which gave the place the feel of a retirement home in Florida and then there's this very nice club on the roof that was more or less empty.

7,1 Good
Pros: Nice rooms, lovely foyer. Nice setting. Attentive staff
Cons: Hadn't appreciated that it was out of season - season apparently ended on 15th September which seems very early. Disappointed that only the buffet was open for meals (apart from snacks at the cafe), thank goodness we weren't full board. Whilst the food in the buffet was fine, it had no atmosphere
7,5 Good
Pros: Beds and pillows excellent.
Cons: Access to the Hotel dodgy took us a while to find the entrance road. Needs better directions,
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Helpful and always friendly staff, beautiful garden with perfect pools. Food very delicious. We had a great time in Andalusia.
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful Moroccan style hotel with impressive atrium, lush, beautiful grounds, a range of pools and wonderful infinity pool with an ocean view that is breathtaking. Lovely room with another gorgeous view.
Cons: The food. Barely legal. The food in the buffet might be just passable but is kept at lukewarm temperatures so us cold before it reaches the table. The freshly fried food wasn’t cooked properly (pork!) so we count ourselves lucky we didn’t get food poisoning. Although a spa hotel you have to pay for even the basic spa pool etc.
7,9 Good
Pros: Value for money friendly staff A buffet with an abundance of healthy fresh food Great view kids club included in price Lovely for kids and relaxing for parents
Cons: Gym is very small and inadiquate, stuffy with no air con Not enough massage professionals as could not get a booking for a week! Bedroom too hot no airconditioning No WiFi in rooms
6,0 Good
Cons: Pools where freezing food and drinks expensive
5,4 Okay
Pros: Nice pools, great for children, and abundance of options at the breakfast (but sloppy and not so nicely presented).
Cons: Well the hotel management is sloppy, WiFi didn't work for the whole week while we were there, and they couldn't care less. Furthermore the room for 3 adults, was just a two person room, with an extra bed, for which they charge a premium price.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Nothing in particular
Cons: No tea/coffee making facilities No stocked mini bar No English TV No free safe No continuously open bar of an evening Everything charged for as extra Not in my opinion a 5 star hotel No free parking No pool side bar service I could go on...

10,0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed a great stay at the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good choice of food in the buffet restaurant. We would recommend this hotel and will return in the future. Excellent value for money Thank you
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Great, very crowded
Cons: I paid for seaview room, and it was told to be, but it was not. We went to walk on the beach in the morning, came back 10.30 and went to room to pick up luckage. The door did not open. I went dow to reception and complained. They renewed the keys. Keys were supposed to be valid until 12 am. The receptionists comment at 10.30 was, that it is so snd so 12.00 a.m. Spanish ignorance. Should not belong into 4 star hotels
7,9 Good
Pros: The choice was extensive. The food good quality especially the bacon.
Cons: The dining room was too full, you could hardly move between the tables. Have been before and the dining room was not as crowded. Went to eat at 8pm and asked to return at 9.15 which I did.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: There was a good selection of breakfast for everybody. The staff were excellent in the restaurant, very quick clearing the tables etc.
Cons: The thing they didn't have was English Breakfast tea. Also they didn't have tea /coffee making facilities in the room which would have made our stay much better.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The beds were comfortable.
Cons: Bathroom smelly. Limited choice of food. Food cold. Plates very small. Tiny swimming pool. No acknowledgement from reception staff.

Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hotel Bahía de Almuñécar in Almunecar, you'll be near the beach, within a 10-minute walk of Almunecar Beach and Bonsai Garden Museum. Featured amenities include a business center, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and welcoming with large bedrooms
Cons: Stayed here before, excellent.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Room was warm and spacious. The bed and pillow were super comfy, I slept really well. Great balcony view over the town with a side ocean view. The street was busy outside but the double glazing blocked out most of the noise. The hotel is ideally situated close to the old town and beach. It was also less than a five minute walk to Lidl and our favourite Chinese restaurant.
Cons: Just a couple of irritating things. We were on the 7th floor and there are only two tiny lifts serving a VERY busy hotel, expect to wait or get very fit climbing many stairs ! Breakfast was a vast array of quality buffet food in a large dining hall served between 0700 and 1000. Huge groups of elderly people arrived like locusts after 0845 and all the tables close to the food are reserved for them. For a relaxed breakfast experience, my advice would be to get up an hour early and get breakfast at 0800 or get your gloves on for the fight !
5,0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and the town centre location was OK for our needs.
Cons: The decor was a little dated, there was no water, tea, coffee or any other drinks in the room and the minibar was empty. The beds were uncomfortable sheets and bedding did not fit correctly and the pillows were hard - there were no alternatives in the room.
7,0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was plentiful but the coffee was poor, the bacon and eggs greasy, the churros overcooked. Dinner was better with plenty of choice, the carafe of natural orange juice wonderful but the fish served on the hotplate was not filletted and full of nasty bones.
Cons: See above
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was excellent, the breakfast was good (would have preferred real orange juice rather than machine delivered cordial) and the facilities sufficient for purpose, the evening meal option was a little disappointing as the quality and choice not as good as other hotels in Almunecar. The town centre location is useful but the surroundings are rather drab. The roof garden and pool are a little on the small side.
Cons: Work was carried out to the facade during my stay which included having to enter via alternative route.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Food, service and secure parking.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very god service and advices from Mrs. Mercedes in the reception for different trips in the mountains, beaches and restaurants. Very god beds and breakfast and a fantastic location with a nice view from the top roof! Thank you for a nice week!

2,5 Mediocre
Pros: Caro y malo.
Cons: Very disappointing, old, expensive, bad breakfast, smelly apartment. They should either reduce the prices and number of stars or improve the quality significantly.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Location, ambiance.
Cons: The bar and restaurant was not open.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful and has so much charm! Really spacious apartment, huge lounge, balcony with sea views. Short walk to shops and bars. Dog friendly. I counted 29 mirrors in the apartment, mostly floor to ceiling, quite a design!
Cons: The kitchen was a little dated, and not well equipped. No kettle. I don’t think you could prepare a full meal with what’s there, but great to have a few basic facilities / fridge / washer available.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean large apartment, walking distance to restaurants and shops.
Cons: Other guests on balconies extremely loud at 3am/ 4am..
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was perfectly adequate.
Cons: Can't fault it. Hope to return one day.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: The common facilities are amazing and beautiful. Food quite good and diversed.
Cons: The suites are a bit old and need to be remodeled.
5,8 Okay
Pros: The pool was really lovely. The staff were also very good too. I think this is about all I could recommend about this place.
Cons: The 3 bed apartment was poor in quality. The bath was rusty. The shower in the bath flooded the bathroom every time it was used as there was no shower curtain or screen. The walls and edging of all the surfaces were very much showing their age. The toilet didn’t flush properly. The aircon was so powerless that it was often cooler outside than in the room. The food was average, at best and got a bit boring after 3 or 4 days. The cold drinks were incredibly expensive - 3 euros for the smallest bottle of coke I’ve ever seen (barely a glassful). We left 3 days early and went elsewhere

7,5 Good
Pros: This is a nice little hotel right next to Botanical gardens. Our room was spacious and clean with a little balcony. The shower was good and the beds comfortable. The bar downstairs is popular and cosy. The staff were friendly.
Cons: The lift didn’t appear to be working on our final day
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Central location to where we wanted to be...staff in restaurant good seeing as I do not speak spanish.hotel lovely and quiet at night
Cons: For the price it was excellent....
5,0 Okay
Pros: Continental breakfast-perfectly acceptable.
Cons: Mealtimes needed to be more organised as there was a large party of disabled people staying at the hotel who quite literally took up all the space.Clearly they needed a separate room, this was sorted out later in our stay. Our first evening was a shambles,we ate at almost 10.00pm as there was no room in the dining room and quite honestly it just wasn't appropriate for us to eat there.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: Central location in the town. Wide variety of food at buffet meals, something to suit anybody and great value for money. Great Spanish experience,
Cons: Not much
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The room was excellent, room 507 on the top floor. Right next the Botanical Gardens and the most amazing Tapas bars. The only bad thing was breakfast, simply don't bother, wet ham, luncheon meat , cheese and bread! but beyond that the staff, location are 10/10, I am already planning my next visit.
Cons: Breakfast

Pros: Friendly Reception Staff. Comfy bed and a power shower although bathroom in general was showing signs of wear and tear. Facilties not tested as we pnly stayed one night to meet up with friends.
Cons: Basic room but noisy late at night (1:30am) so I had to complain to Reception Staff who remonstrated with some boisterous Spanish youths.
5,8 Okay
Pros: Friendly stuff at recepcion, very good location, short distance to the sea by foot.
Cons: We were booked a room for 5 nights, but after 2 nights we changed our plans and left this place, because after two nights we were tired without normal sleep, in our room we have heard everything from another room, what people are talking, what they do in bed, toilet. Someone in another room coughing and snoring, sound insulation is so bad that you can think of those people are in your room. Smell in room was not fresh. Housemaid worked very loudly in the mornings.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and close to the beach
Cons: Wasn’t aware pool not open this time of year
9,6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location 100m from the beach. Comfortable bed, clean rooms and very friendly staff. Great value too.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful authentic Spanish small hotel . Lovely big comfy bed. Powerful shower Very friendly host Good value
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant owner and helpful staff. Defect TV set was immediately renewed.
5,0 Okay
Pros: Comfortable bed & nice view
Cons: We were the only people there - basically the place was locked up and we were given a key - restaurant wasn't open - so no breakfast available - underneath the bed it was needing a good clean. Had we been told about these issues - would not have booked.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: The property was very traditional and full of quirky features.Breakfast was a treat in our own little secluded alcove. Our host was extremely friendly and helpful with tips on how to get into town.
7,1 Good
Pros: Self contained oasis with open central courtyard with all facilities on site.
Cons: Pretty much closed for winter so no facilities at all and out of town location . No staff resident so had to ring a number and wait 10 mins for someone to arrive by car to let us in.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely. Enjoyed the food.
Cons: Nothing
9,2 Excellent
Pros: I only had breakfast at the last moment ( it wasn't booked) and staff were very helpful to accommodate me - the coffee was a little cold but I took breakfast at the end of time so no complaints. There was plenty on display to choose from and I liked I could sit out on the patio.
Cons: The parking was on a steep hill above the hotel. It was a little tricky finding a place & going back up and down the hill to collect bags etc. However once parked and unpacked there was no issue. The hotel is situated on a tight bend going down the hill which makes it a little dangerous to park outside the door when leaving. I thought the cost of one night stay was a bit high but room was peaceful & comfortable enough.

7,1 Good
Pros: Nice rooms, lovely foyer.

7,0 Good
