Pros: Great breakfast and location.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was extremely beautiful as was The whole location with roses and vineyards. Style and elegance, yes not too fancy. Loved everything abt it!
9,6 Excellent
Pros: A charming guest farm in Franschoek Auberge Clermont is a charming guest farm. As we made a late check-in on arrival, we were only able to appreciate the lovely winter views from our room the next morning - vineyards on our doorstep and the mountains as a backdrop. Our room was tastefully decorated, and the farm has a pleasant ambience. Pepper, the farm's canine host, took us for a guided walk around the property, but we were not brave enough to join her as she crossed the river that runs through the property. Eventually, she got distracted by a burrow along the path, leaving us to meander along the vineyards on our own. Our host, Angela and her team were very accommodating, and gracious enough to allow us to have a late check out, as our flights were booked for the evening. The property is secluded enough to feel like an escape, but only around the corner from the town centre, making it convenient for dinner reservations. We will definitely be back.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Special touches and the stylish homely feel.
Cons: Nothing
7,5 Good
Pros: - Location on the wine estate was beautiful, but also still close to Franschhoek centre - Comfortable rooms - Swimming pool
Cons: - We had to wait an hour before we could have our breakfast; because there was a large group of people having breakfast before us. We we offered a table outside (temperature of 16 degrees), so we declined. After waiting an hour, we could have breakfast, but some of the buffet was not refilled. Considering the price for this stay, this issue could have been handled much better, or even be prevented (planning).
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Nice spacious room, good service, nice breakfasts and excellent recommendations from the host.
Cons: Would have been nice to have a more extensive view from the roof windows The beggars in Franschhoek itself were quite intimidating at times.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: A piece of paradise, tucked away off the main street in Franschhoek. Beautifully kept secluded gardens are a perfect retreat from the bustle of the streets. Staff were most professional, and our room was simply perfect, we couldn't want for a thing. We had dinner in La Petite Colombe, which is on the hotel premises. We consider La Colombe to be one of the best restaurants in Africa, and it's 'newer' sibling did not disappoint. Altogether, an excellent experience, marred only by breakfast, see below.
Cons: Breakfast was not pleasant. Admittedly, we anticipated an excellent experience in the Protege Restaurant, but we were very disappointed. The buffet was standard fare, nothing special. The cooked breakfast was very oily, overcooked, and not hot by the time it arrived at the table. We imagined that lunch and dinner would be excellent, but management should keep away from breakfasts and let the hotel take care of that meal.
10,0 Excellent
Cons: I just loved how gorgeous our room was, the artworks around the property is just awesome. The food at Protégé restaurant was just Devine... We didn’t get to experience La Petit Colombe but La Colombe is one of my favoutites so I guess it goes without saying, simply sublime. The service was also impeccable, I give them 10/10, worth another visit soon.

Pros: The location is brilliant as it is in the middle of town, close to the wine tram. The staff are very helpful and the manager, Cornad, absolutely went out of his way to help and accommodate us. He even sat us down to help plan our wine tram day. Small gestures like a free dessert brought to the room in the eve show their customer friendly service. The breakfast is quite exceptional compared to other high end accommodations. The free mini bar and alcohol bar were a welcome surprise. We would definitely want to visit again.
Cons: The price is high compared to other accommodations but you do get lots of perks for it in return

Pros: The staff were amazing. Must give particular special mention about Danica, who gave us such a warm welcome and loads of information to ensure we got the most out of our stay. She also gave us a welcomed room upgrade. All of her recommendations were excellent; thanks again to her & her colleagues.
Cons: We had no hot water on arrival but the staff worked hard to fix the problem by the time we returned from our day out the next day. Also, be aware the property is outside of Franschhoek but the staff arranged taxis for transfer to our evening dinners, so this wasn’t an issue for us.

10,0 Excellent
Pros: This little hotel was perfect for us. Very quaint with great eclectic design . The room was very nice with a really comfortable bed with sumptuous linens. A private outdoor sitting area and a beautiful bathroom with a shower and a big bath. 2 secluded pools and walking distance into town (5 mins walk). Nothing was too much trouble for the team of wonderful staff lead by manager Kim. A complimentary drink on arrival and a coffee provided when we got to the room as we were feeling a bit chilly. The breakfasts were delicious. Kim recommended a couple of fantastic restaurants and the hotel transferred us to the airport for a very good rate. When we return to Franschhoek we will stay here again!

10,0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect in every way.
9,2 Excellent
Pros: Classy place in excellent location. Excellent staff excellent sevice.
Cons: Our initial room had a beautiful view. Unfortunately it was upstairs and approached via steep outside stairs along the side of the building. Because of the inclement weather we requested a more conveniently accessable room which was granted. Unfortunately the room did not compare with the initial room and really did not deserve to be charged at the same amount. The value for money was poor.
4,6 Okay
Pros: The location of the hotel and the size of the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The room’s carpet was badly stained. The room did not have a view - you looked at a wall.

Pros: Rooms in the farm are gorgeous and very comfortable, with shared spa and library. Breakfast is delicious and garden walks and drives are a must. Lovely place all in, wish we had stayed longer.
Cons: Nothing, all was fantastic.
7,0 Good
Pros: The breakfast is incredible and the staff are fantastic!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: What a BEAUTIFUL property! The restaurants were absolutely amazing! LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Cons: I thought the spa facilities could have been a little better. The hot tub was not hot, the steam room had no steam and the sauna was not hot either. We tried these at both the main spa and at the farmhouse rooms and they both were not working well.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was sensational. The best breakfasts I have ever tasted in my life. The cottage was perfect with the opportunity to make lunch in the kitchen and to pick food from the garden. The garden tour and mountain tour and farm walk also really excellent run by a delightful gardener. The lake/dam also really super. The reception staff really helpful in all our demands. The wine tasting good too but slightly lacking in character.
Cons: I thought that the menu for the greenhouse restaurant was not good. I also thought that the Italian restaurant was pricey. I thought the farm shop also pricey but lovely things which I have returned with.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: This place is way more impressive than what you can imagine : people are very nice and proactively helpful, the accommodation is just so beautiful and comfy, the garden and the surroundings are amazing. Thanks so much to the whole staff especially Jerome at the front desk.
Cons: Nothing. It was more than perfect.
5,0 Okay
Pros: The location was great.
Cons: The staff should be more customer service oriented. That is the difference from a okay place to excellent. Other places we stayed on this trip had great customer service. Friendly. Internet didn’t work. Very inconsistent. Mattress needs replacing. One side was very bad. Booked the wrong date for my son to join us and hotel would not change dates without full penalty. Notified immediately after book. I thought maybe would take one night. So disappointed.
9,6 Excellent
Pros: - great food both at breakfast and dinner! Amazing quality and very fresh - very nice rooms (large, attention to detail, decor) - great wine and wine tasting - amazing property and garden - they offer a wide range of tours with are free for hotel guests and are quite special - fair prices at dinner / restaurant We had an amazing stay and can wholeheartedly recommend the place
Cons: - Hotel is quite pricy (but worth it) - It is less idyllic than we thought and tends to be quite busy during the day as there are many day visitors who visit the gardens / wine tasting / restaurant

10,0 Excellent
Pros: All was great and the owners couldn't do enough to make our stay more pleasant. Well done - so well done that we stayed an extra night.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: It's a small nicely maintained old building (est 1855) with several rooms, little pool and it's a charming nice and quiet place. We had a comfortable room with everything necessary in it inc. coffee/tea sets, bathroom amenities, fridge and minibar, safe and so on. Breakfast was good as you can order one specially made for you from the list.
Cons: We booked the hotel afternoon the same day we were going to stay and I got a message that their check in time is from 14:00 till 17:00. They urged me to kindly check in before the cut off time of 17:00. It was quite an unusual checkin time. It didn't draw my attention when I was booking. A bit weird as people who are staying there comes for visiting wineries and are busy there till 17.00 where wine testing is closing down. We came before 6 pm and there was a member of the staff to check us in as another couple called and said they will be late. We were offered a room with a bathroom in a separate room along the corridor which I wasn't expecting at all. I booked standard room with bathroom inside it. Fortunately, there were one more left meeting my expectations. Area around Country house wasn't as exciting as in many wineries with gardens, vineyards, beautiful mounting view. There are no proper fences, so it felt like staying in the middle of the field in a Country house which it actually is :) Please note there are no staff during evening and night hours at the property as well.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Late check-in no problem. Excellent breakfast. Room upgrade.

Pros: The experience at L’ermitage is always unforgettable , from the warm welcome to the cheerful goodbye. We truly enjoy our experience year and will be back next year for our fourth visit. This weekend we enjoyed meeting the new owners and hearing about the visions for the estate and cannot wait to come back and experience all the new adventures .

Cons: Nothing
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was great from check in to check out. Clean facilities and friendly staff. It is also located centrally 2 all activities
7,9 Good
Pros: I loved my room. It was like my own private palace. The location and the facilities are beautiful, scenery is fantastic and rooms are big. Massive windows to enjoy the view and great balcony too. Comfortable sofas in the common areas to read a book, though the room was so huge I hardly needed to go to the common areas. Staff were also very friendly
Cons: My room had a strange foul smell by the front door, which did disappear when I ran the tap. The windows were loose which meant I was kept up at night when the winds blew and they rattled loudly. The room floors were also a little dusty for some reason, seems like the sandy soil from outside blew in. The restaurant needs major improvement — quality of food was very bad, both breakfast and dinner. Almost sent my food back but it was 9.30pm and I was starving. It was a shame as I was really hoping to give this hotel 10 out of 10

Cons: Nothing - all was perfect

Cons: Lighting poor in Bedroom / Bathroom

Pros: Amazing staff and views - free upgrade as we were getting engaged, complimentary minibar which is unusual, a fantastic event by and dinner for our engagement!
Cons: Mix-up at check-out and lower pool was a bit chilly (not heated). Mattress was not that great and bed was high up and a bit ridiculous (even though it looked good).

Pros: Great breakfast and location.
