Vancouver hotels near Pacific Centre Shopping Mall

Cons: Appalling lack of maintenance including: An electrical junction box with an extemporized, ill-fitting metal cover through which exposed wires could be seen, Shattered tiles in bathroom, Peeling wallpaper, Cracked sink, Stained carpets, Beat up furniture - scraped, scratched, chipped. For such an expensive hotel, this room was unacceptable but it was really late and we had a 6:00am flight next morning so we slept in it. I informed the clerk upon check out and got "So sorry, thanks for staying with us, bye". My advice: take the shuttle to an off-site hotel.

Cons: The water and shower were strange. Hot water ran out of the cold faucet in the sink for a full minute before it got cold, every time. Temperature of the shower and strength of the stream were from the same dial, so to get good pressure you had to sacrifice comfort. Truly bizarre. You need better signage downstairs to find the front desk. Usually they're on the ground floor. One of the down elevators was out, so we had a long wait because the first one working was full. $4.50 for bottles of water in the room? No way! There should be 2 complimentary water bottles, which you get in other fine hotels. And there is no convenience store nearby which stocks good water at a reasonable price. The (excellent) TV in the room was set at an odd angle, you have to twist your neck to view. Channel selections did not include Fox Business, which has higher ratings than CNBC; and MLB Network, which has baseball coverage other than the Toronto Blue Jays. And if you must burn half a dozen channels on French language programming, it's time to expand channel capacity. The three dinner restaurants had problems, in addition to high prices. The bar which had such good recorded music at lunch had a terrible, whiny live folksinger performing. We had to leave. The top premium restaurant was closed for a special event, and the third was expensive and you could still hear the awful folksinger because there was no wall. We wound up dining at the hotel across the street. You don't want people walking in there, do you? Finally, and most annoyingly, there was a fifteen minute waiting queue for a taxicab when we were leaving for the airport. The cab driver explained that the problem was all the cabs were handling cruise ship traffic. Well, this must happen most days, and you need to do something about it besides having an older doorman losing a battle with the hotel across the street (and customers down the street) for the attention of the taxis. You should probably warn your guests in advance of the problem, and provide a list of private local cars/limos and the URL of the Vancouver version of Uber as alternatives. And hire a sexy young woman to replace the older gent because if cabbies in Canada are anything like those in the U.S., they won't make sharp U-turns to avoid a beautiful woman making sharp whistling sounds.

Cons: Had my reservation for a king sized bed, and when I entered the room, it was 2 doubles. Went down to get it changed, and the staff member (Elena?) said the rooms were fully booked and said that "the king sized was just a request". I persisted that I reserved a king and paid the price for a king, which was clearly printed on my reservation confirmation. She went to the back room to check with her manager, and finally came back out to change my room to a king size bed. It was a little troubling to have to put up a fight to get what I had reserved.

Cons: The fact that the room felt somewhat expensive and still charged for wifi and water. No free breakfast as well

Cons: The room was not clean. One bed had fresh blood stains on the sheets. We called housekeeping to address and they did that night. But they also suggested that if our sleep wasn't too important that they could change the bed in the morning. We had them change the bedding immediately. We never heard from anyone else so de "tested" the maid by leaving some unkempt areas for verification. Example, a used coffee pod in the Keurig. She didn't remove it. Gross. Won't stay here again.

Cons: They charge extra for wifi ($15 standard, $20 premium) which seems a little ridiculous these days. The chairs in the room looked nice but weren't very comfortable when I just wanted to sit and watch a little television. The interior was very traditional not modern in any way.

Cons: TV remote was too hard to read, & sometimes didn't work! However, the electrician was quick to arrive!

Cons: Experience at Spa with our daughter who is undergoing Treatment was a disaster!! I picked this hotel because of the spa but her mani & pedi and the technician was aweful! She also had a massage which she did enjoy!! I bought WiFi $19.95/day didn't work! Talked to a call centre in Missiouri - said he reboot server/ still didn't work! Disappointed but the overall hotel we did enjoy- beds , rooms, etc.

Cons: They charge extra for wifi, they charge extra for using the business center (but you can ask the concierge to print and they will not charge you). I did not find the front desk to be friendly or accommodating. The double room is essentially two twin beds. The rooms are rather small.

Cons: I paid $48 per day for parking. Then I got a parking ticket for $68. Ridiculous! The day we arrived, the carpet next to the bed was soaking wet. The cleaning ladies also didn’t replenish supplies such as coffee, coffee mugs, etc. Considering how much we paid for our room, I would expect everything to be perfect.

Cons: We found that our bathroom was not cleaned and we had to have housekeeping come clean it. Hairs all over bathtub. Then we were afraid of what else might not have been cleaned?? Roman came to our room and got the problem corrected and offered a voucher to the airport the next day. Appreciated but still—-creepy. Oh, and the dinner in the restaurant was tasteless. Can’t recommend.

Cons: Location, no where to walk, had to drive up north for everything we wanted. Pool was old/dirty feeling, did not stay to jacuzzi. Wouldn't stay there for vacation.

Cons: I booked the hotel because of free airport shuttle, there was none. This was disappointing.

Cons: Dirty. Smelled. Not many amenities. Shuttle only runs to airport at certain hours.

Cons: It wasn't unclean but I would have liked it to be cleaner; but that's just me and I like things to be super clean while my friend was perfectly fine with the level of cleanliness.

Cons: I did not have a credit card, so they charged my debit card 250 dollars for deposit. They "refunded" be when I checked out, but I never got the money back in my account. So instead of 80 dollars, this hotel room now cost me 330 dollars for the night.

Cons: I was in a corner room and the bathroom was a bit small. I don't know if other rooms have the same problem or not but that was mildly annoying as I have broad shoulders. Incidentals deposit was NOT disclosed until arrival. It should be disclosed upfront.
