One of Canada’s Great Railway Hotels. A classic with excellent service and a great location.
Location in central Vancouver
Rooms are old. Poor service at reception. No Accor rewards points received as an Accor Hotel member because my reservation was paid through Rocky Mountaineer even though I had additional charges in the restaurant. Marriott and Hilton would have given me reward points for the extra charges I incurred.
Was promised a room with a city view, got a second floor that looked at a wall.
Not worth it
The staff were friendly although understaffed and long lines.
The room was smaller than advertised. Apparently newly updated but couldn’t tell. Room had no tub and the shower had only scolding hot water.
Downtown Classy Old Matriarch
Old Guard hotel with lots of class and elegance right in the heart of Vancouver, walking distance to the seawall and cruise ship port. Great food, top hat service and ambiance.
Poor service, bad hardware, no room service after 11. When asked for whiskey glasses, they delivered glasses with dust....

I had to wait half an hour for taxi at 5am Sunday. Would think that a Fairmont hotel would have arrangements with taxi companies. Many people waiting and frustrated thinking they miay miss flights

Probably one of the nicest Hotels we have ever stayed at, even better than the Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I would give this a 5 Star Rating

The location was great!
I don't usualy write bad things about a hotel because i know the damage it can cost to the place. But this time, it was over my ability to not react. There were a few things. 1. It seems that we had bed bugs on our bed. We scratched ourselves like hell until we moved to the other bed that we had in our room. 2. At breakfast we chose the buffet, when we got to the cheese section it was all full of bugs flying around and on it. Add to that, the milk was spoiled. Thanks to the staff, we did not have to pay for our meals. 3. If you park your car in the hotels parking lot and use the machine, you'll have to pay "only" 44$ a day, but if you register through the hotel you will pay more than 60$ a day. 4. There were not much stuff at the loby, it took is about 15 minutes to check in!! 4. No free WiFi in the hotel... Any way, not returning, doesn't worth the money.

Grand. Our 6th floor (away from elevator) room very quiet. Concierge excellent.
Small bathroom. Toilet-sink-shower w/o space between. Avg sized rooms. Fitness center a bit below avg (equipment amount & range) for hotel size/status. Expensive.
The staff were very helpful. The location was within walking distance or very close to public transport of all the attractions we were interested in ie bc place for Playdome, science world and the imax
There was limited dining choice and what was available was rather expensive for families although the food was excellent; no vending machines and no lobby newsstand or similar where you could purchase snacks or beverages. There was a drug store fairly close or several food courts nearby as well as many restaurants within walking distance.
