Cons: Location (Access is not great going anywhere). Gym is too far from Tower Hotel, so is the convenience store in the hotel. There is no Starbucks, café, convenience stores around the hotel.

Pros: This is a great hotel. It is in very close proximity to the train and walking distance to other attractions. The area is in a safe well lit area. The rooms were nice sized and we had no problems. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. They all spoke some English. I would definitely stay here again!

Pros: Hundred Stay was a great value, with the weekly rate plan & offering rooms with a kitchenette. The location was very good for either business or tourist travelers -it's close to transport, shops & lots of restaurants. We had a great experience, the staff were very helpful & room very comfortable - I would definitely stay there again. They also have a great book/dvd library and plenty of English language brochures for tourists, plus guides for the room features, like how to use the tv, the temperature controls, etc. very useful!
Cons: The carpets were badly stained in the room & hallways, which was unfortunate, but a very minor issue. Also the bathtub/shower was very slippery, so might be problematic for a guest with disabilities.

Pros: The staff were so lovely - super polite, friendly. The hotel is immaculate, modern, relaxing. We were on the 14th floor which had a room with a washer and dryer, an ice machine, and a beverage machine - very handy. We were a group of 3, and we were in a superior twin with an extra bed - we found the space to be comfortable. We ate at the hotel restaurant for breakfast almost every morning - it was expensive, but what you’d expect at a hotel pretty much anywhere. The food was very good - a great balance of Japanese and western offerings. The house made custards were delicious! The hotel is in a perfect location - 5 minute walk to Shinjuku Station, two Lawsons and a 7-11 even closer.
Cons: All was really great, from our perspective and use as tourists, it was perfect. We’d stay there again.

Pros: Good, practical hotel that is not too hard on the wallet. Most of the staff we experienced were always friendly and helpful. LOVED the convenience of the shuttle bus. Without it, the long walk from the train station would have been quite an inconvenience.
Cons: There was not much to dislike here, however we did spend most of the time in the city rather than in the hotel. The only offputting experience was asking one of the front desk if the nearest conbini had luggage delivery services and she said no. We had a feeling her advice was incorrect because when we went to the conbini to check, they said they could transport our luggage for us.

Pros: During my stay, I got sick from my stomach. Once the staff knew about my illness, the staff was attentive and went as far as to check up on me to see how I was doing. That's not only great service, but a gold standard in taking care of the customer. I will definitely go back to this hotel when I go back to Tokyo. I will recommend this hotel to others.

Pros: Very good location in the center of Shinjuku, about 10 minutes away from the train station and taxi service outside. Had an ATM and 7-11 attached to it. All the amenities a person could need, toothbrush, hair brush l, razor shaving cream, free bath salts for everyday I stayed. Shampoo conditioner and body wash smelled great. Shower and bath were awesome! 1rst floor breakfast was the way to go, 8th floor cafe was nice but had less variety than the other. Staff knew English, and the concierge service was great for booking and easy airport limousine back to HND airport. Very close to robot resturant and bars that are open 24 hours.

Pros: Great little hotel in an excellent location. Right in Shinjuku at the entrance to Golden Gai. Five minute or less walk to Shinjuku JR station. At first we were worried about the size of the room but after long days exploring Tokyo all you really need to do in the room is sleep. If you like a firm mattress you will LOVE this bed. We slept better here than at home! Bathroom was very clean, and we loved the separate shower/bath concept. Ate at the breakfast buffet a few times, which had a good balance of western and Japanese foods to try. Most of the breakfast spots nearby don't open until 10-11 so consider buying the breakfast at check-in if you are an early eater.
Cons: There is not a ton of space for luggage storage, but that is to be expected. The room has a small couch which for us became luggage and souvenir storage so it worked out. As others have mentioned, there is also the strange situation of having to take one hotel to the lobby and another to the street. However, if you are leaving early enough, the escalator will be set to go "down" to the street level.

Locations such as Akihabara, Harajuku, Meiji Shrine, Shibuya, and a lot more are a short train ride away and with the train station so close it was easy to get around. Lots of shops, restaurants, and arcades within walking distance of the hotel.

We came with 2 families and 5 small kids, they were making some noise and chasing around at the lobby while we were checking in, one male staff warned us this was not appropriate. It was our first day arrival, with such unfriendly approached, it really spoilt our mood.

Cons: This hotel was the most expense one that I stayed in Japan, around US$185,00 and for that price I was expecting a much better room. The bathroom was disgusting with visible mold all around probably because the exhaust fan wasn't efficient enough to keep the moist out of it.. The toilet bowl underneath the seat was all black mold... The shower walls is getting yellowish probably because no scrubbing it's been done.. I saw a single room keeper guy cleaning the whole building floor when I got there but he was cleaning alone at least 18 rooms in that floor as I noticed the rooms doors was all wide open and he was running between those rooms with vaccum and cleaning supplies and etc... The blocks/area around of this hotel have lots of "massage" business places and lots of guys hanging around the walkway corners to offer girls to do a "special" job if you interesting... Definitely not a family hotel to stay ! Few blocks away from the opposite side of the Shinjuku Train Station I stayed at Sun Route Hotel of Shinjuku that was much much better location in the area and a family hotel with quality and breakfast include for under US$120,00. Hope this review helps lots of visitors.

Pros: First, let me start with the location. I will say it is friendly for all ages 18 and up. I include even seniors because the location really does have it all! However, it is really close and somewhat in the middle of their redlight district and Although I know this can sound problematic or even too crazy, it really isnt because all of it is kept away from the streets. You only know what the places are based on the wording of the advertisement outside such as "thai special massage." All funny though even for us as a married couple. You are only two blocks (5min walk if you are slow and not from the city like we were) from the Shinjuku train station and this was solid gold for us to get around even with our luggage because in case you have not heard, Taxis are pricey!! Another great thing about the location is the food! We are foodies and we love bargains and high end so we can try it all!!! I also do not eat fish and my husband loves his sushi and again, they have it all! From 1,000 yen lunches to nice steak dinners in which we spent up to 9,000 yen but we also ordered a couple rounds of beer and limited this kind of spending to only every other night. Other than that they have reasonable 3,000 yen dinners for two and we even had steak tacos at this rate!! As for the staff, they answered all the million questions we had even when it was reallllly busy during check in hours. They were all very patient! Our package did not include breakfast but the hotel is located in front of a family mart and across the street from a 7-11 (with an ATM) and in case you did not hear in places like reddit, some people come here for food from these places alone! We usually picked up sandwiches or hotcase items with drinks for under 1,000yen in total for two of us! And went about our day. The hotel people clean the room everyday, restock toilettries in the bathrooms daily, and leave you water bottles daily as well as fresh towels. Very very clean people and yes you might be culture shocked to learn the square footage is veryyyy small but two of us fit just fine and comfortably and come on, if you are going to japan do your research! Anywhere you stay will have the same issue with squarefootage because this country has one of the most expensive realstate value, meaning this culture often downsizes in space because larger does not neccesarily mean better. I wish there were more i could say and although I could it really means you should choose APA at Kabukichu!

Pros: Good location in Shinjuku within walking distance of major shops, restaurants and public transportation. Hotel looks new and has nice lobby, breakfast area, and rooftop lounge. Bed was very comfy.
Cons: Room is tiny but not a complete surprise in Tokyo. However, there were several small things that could have been done to make the space more useful such as more clothes hangers, a shelf over clothing rod, and towel hooks in the bath to name a few.

Cons: One of the female receptionist is unprofessional. After the room make up they forgot to put a teaspoon. When I informed her she told me that I should present to the front desk to ask for it! And she claims that they have rules (in disrespectful way). It is just a simple order (teaspoon)! I couldn’t understand what kind of rules that prevent them to bring a teaspoon! Totally unacceptable.

Pros: Great view and helpful staff. Restaurant was intermittently and unexpectedly closed, and the bar/lounge was depressingly lifeless.
Cons: Location amongst love hotels, gentlemen's clubs and prostitutes lends a certain downmarket feel to the neighborhood, though it's not at all uncomfortable, let alone dangerous. Room was worn and gloomy, with dingy colors. We paid a higher price for a room on the 16th floor, which had a fantastic view, but cost nearly as much as the Intercontinental Strings in Shinagawa where we had stayed for business and which was truly excellent.

Pros: Price was slightly below the competition, but in retrospect, I would've gladly paid more for a much better stay. Close to 7-11 and some fun areas in Shinjuky.
Cons: I've traveled to Tokyo for 3 straight years. This hotel is the worst by far. Even though it's advertised as a 4-star hotel, it is NOT a 4-star hotel. Here's what I think: Very small room, even for Tokyo standard. There were a few groups of rowdy tourists, and I can tell that the concierge was exhausted by them, and was not very friendly when she was helping me out. Even though it's in Shinjuku, location is not that good. It's right next to a bunch of love hotels and far from the main Shinjuku station. Overall, a big disappointment for me.

Pros: great location, close to everything. the staffs are super helpful.
Cons: the hotel is perfectly fine, but the location is rather close to the red light district. but they are very discreet. My husband and i feel very safe and comfortable to walk around.

Cons: I asked if they could help me make a reservation at a restaurant and was told that they couldn't help me once I had checked out. They said if I had asked seconds earlier, they would have helped me. Bad service.

Pros: It's smart, comfortable, and well designed. Everything you need without having to stay at either a super-luxe hotel, or a grimy budget place. The location is great. It's 10 mins from a few different stations, but right by Shinjuku which has better access to other parts of Tokyo than staying where most 'tourist' hotels are (out near Asakusa). The rooms are not big... but they are big for Tokyo.
Cons: A LOT of tour groups use this hotel, making it feel very crowded at time (though the rooms are quiet!)
Located in Shinjuku, this hotel is within a 5-minute walk of Samurai Museum and Robot Restaurant. Omoide Yokocho and Shinjuku Isetan are also within 15 minutes. Seibu-Shinjuku Station is only a 5-minute walk and Higashi-shinjuku Station is 8 minutes.

Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall and New National Theatre Tokyo are also within 15 minutes. Tochomae Station is 5 minutes by foot and Shinjuku Station is 9 minutes.

Pros: The location is great and the price is very affordable. There are multiple convenience shops nearby for quick snacks or forgotten items. The tub is very deep and offers a relaxing soak with very hot water and good water pressure. Also the included cable lineup is more robust than many hotels. A couple of smart features for working with such small rooms. I like the ledge of the window for adding space and the included large hand mirror in the room.
Cons: The rooms are so hot. Even in winter. And it felt like every morning the room would get extra hot and forced me out in a heated panic. It would be different if the windows opened but mine did not. It was insufferable at times making the small size (even in the double room) seem even smaller. Also every morning the cleaning staff would take hours to complete a room. I was often working around their schedule and felt I couldn't be in the room between 10:00-13:00. It's also a very crowded hotel and getting an elevator at certain times of day was frustrating. I stayed here for over a week where I'd suggest 3 nights be the max.
Located in Shinjuku, this hotel is within a 10-minute walk of Robot Restaurant and Isetan Department Store Shinjuku. Shinjuku Isetan and Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden are also within 15 minutes. Higashi-shinjuku Station is only a 2-minute walk and Shinjuku-sanchome Station is 10 minutes.

Pros: Very convenient to metro and in a good area. Hotel is clean and staff is friendly.
Cons: Room is tiny. Didn't know this going in and booked for myself and a friend. Two beds wasn't an option and the room was really uncomfortable for two people. Bathroom is also tiny and there's no space for luggage. If I had known about room size in advance I would have booked elsewhere

Pros: Close to train stations and within walking distance of popular area in Shinjuku. Looks modern. Comfy bed and pillow.
Cons: Got the smoking room, provided febreze-like spray but didn't help. The bathroom smelled gross, like wet old clothes. Inside of toilet was not cleaned. Weird brown marks, with pubic hair, on the bathroom door. Shower curtains had a nasty smell that the spray couldn't remove. Room is small, even for one person with a carry-on sized luggage, but that's expected in Tokyo.

Pros: Hot shower with excellent water pressure. Firm, comfortable bed and pillows. Complimentary bottled water, daily. Wall mounted pump shampoo, conditioner and body washes. Great free Wi-Fi. Clean Convenient Laundry Facilities Close to the subway
Cons: Narrow Shower, always bumping into curtain. No closet or dresser. Very tight quarters. A lot of ambulances in the area (a bit noisy)
