Pros: It was very clean and well maintained. The front doorman and the reception's staffs at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. It is 15 min cab ride away from the Sungsan Taipei Airport and lots of major attractions and shopping malls are within 15 min cab rise away including Taipei 101. The roof top outdoor pool has a great view of Taipei city and Taipei 101.

Pros: We booked the big suite room during spring festival. The price is more expensive than usual, though it’s the same everywhere. As we were traveling with our 3 year old daughter, suite room gave us plenty of room to relax when she went to bed very early. The hotel staff were all quite nice. The access to club lounge is very convenient, breakfast, snack and happy hour are all good. We are very happy with everything.

Cons: Really there isn't anything that I would change about the hotel. It met or exceeded my expectations in all areas. If there is anything to be critical about it is that we had booked a treatment at the spa and we arrived on time, however, it's best you arrive 10 mins before your treatment as it takes time for the treatments to start and as a result that cuts in to the time allotted for your treatment. A minor point but worth knowing.

Cons: The decoration materials and designing style are not really suitable for family travellers accroding to my understanding. It is more suitable for young couple or singles as its main color tone is pink and gold. Furthermore, the swimming pool is placed right in front of the lobby's lounge with transparent glass which seems a little bit awkward to me. I personally prefer the style of Ritz-Carlton more. By the way, the fruits sent to my room that wasn't really good quality and the bed is way too soft.

Pros: This is a very elegant hotel with a wonderful layout. The rooms were absolutely beautiful and very clean, with spacious bathrooms and a very comfortable bed. The staff were incredible. They all displayed high quality customer service and were extremely helpful, from getting us taxis to helping us find local places to eat as well as suggestions of where to go to see things in Taipei. The breakfast was very well organized and had a mix of western and Chinese food. One of the Manager's Johnny was very kind and respectful and always made sure that we were happy. The whole stay was amazing and would very highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Taipei. For the service and amenities this hotel offered I believe this was an excellent deal in terms of cost. I will definitely return to this hotel in the future.

Pros: I always stay at the Landis when I visit Taipei. The service is excellent, the food is good and the staff friendly & competent. The rooms are spacious and clean and the location is great. It is very much like a boutique hotel, if that is what you enjoy.

Cons: During my Saturday late afternoon check in, the reception was severely understaffed. We had to wait for almost 10 mins before someone taking care of us. The waiting was further terrible as we desperately needed to quickly settle down after a full-day walking in the city. Our room was the innermost one so very far away from the elevator. No city view per se. Not sure if that’s the only one for our room type on that floor.

Cons: Never had to wear a bathing cap in a hotel pool before even on our many trips to Japan! I was only person in pool at 9pm & was told about this rule once I had got in. Found this annoying & was asked to get out! Also not being able to wear swimwear in spa - it is not a traditional onsen, only a hotel hot tub! It is also not in Japan so for an international hotel a bit ridiculous.

Cons: Staff at your cafe bar on the first floor require to improve on their English. The young lady was ok, the older one was poor and found it it difficult to be pleasant. I raised an issue on the amount of wine served in the glass and she was very poor with her PR and response. Even if I was slightly incorrect it would have been better to pour an extra ounce instead of arguing about it!!! Pathetic !! This was my second stay there and I was disappointed. For the record my company has a hospitality division and we own a Hilton, Wyndham and a Ramada. Not behavior I would condone from staff in the hospitality business. Other staff were very good, this one requires a bit more training

Cons: They were not prompt in making sure the room was available by 3pm. Coming from an early flight, we were tired and any further delays were not welcome. The front desk staff were apologetic but their senior staff ( lady manager /supervisor) was in passive aggressive mode to justify their delay. This was not appreciated at all. They could have offered our party a drink to cool us down instead of having the “im in command attitude.”

Pros: The hotel staff, from front desk to housekeeping to dining, all have very pleasant personality. They are very helpful and always talked to us with a smile. The breakfast selection isn't that large but still pretty much the standard and had many choices. The standard double room had good view of the city, and the amenities inside are really good. The bathtub is of good size and can be enjoyed with the TV inside the bathroom. All in all, it was a pleasant stay.

Cons: The hotel is like a trip to the 80’s. Everything is so outdated... Breakfast was ok, I was expecting a bit more. Pool area is a joke. Small pool and no services around (e.g. pool bar). Spa services were overpriced. Lack of communication between staff. We upgraded our room and included breakfast after we arrived but when we went to the restaurant they didn’t let us in at first saying we didn’t have breakfast included in our stay... Wifi is not very good. All of these above would be fine if the price was lower... but it’s actually quite expensive. Absolutely no value for money. I recommend to explore other places.

Cons: The air conditioning wasn't working in tip top conditions! We have to tell them and their answers were to provide fans! The next time we asked about fans, they said there were no fans! I was so hot that I literally having headache...the weather was 37 to 39 degrees! Then after we called the front desk 2nd time then they said will ask technician to take a look...but there wasn't much they could do as air con can only drop 1 degree in abt more than 2hrs!...so they suggested to leave the room card at slot so that the air con can keep running....

Pros: We arrived to an earthquake and impending typhoon. We came off an early morning flight from Rome with winds and rain.The lovely older lady at check in not only let us take the room before 10.00am but upgraded us.We were worried about the typhoon but this kind gesture made us feel better. The room staff were great too. Very friendly and helpful.

Cons: I was on the 8th floor and there was a stale odor in the hallway. The electric toilet didn't work and the shower door leaked water on the bathroom floor. As for their breakfast buffet, while the service was great, the breakfast was disappointingly mediocre at best. They could have easily improved the quality, for example, if you're serving bagels and lockes, please have cream cheese available... and of course some sliced cucumber, tomatoes, and capers will be nice too.

Pros: The hotel location is good, walking distance (2min) to the ZhongXiao DunHua metro station. You can follow the signboard and exit at exit #4 (no escalator, you have to climb up the stairs) however if you are carrying luggage, it is better to exist at exit #3 because there is an escalator. Once you are out of the station, you will see Ming Yao Dept store, do not walk towards it instead you walk backward, you will see the signboard "Mango" at the far end, walk towards it and in less than 5min, you will see the hotel. My room is for 3 people so it has 3 individual beds, we have 3 pieces of luggage as well, the room can contain the luggages. Ming Yao Dept store has money exchange service, it is located on the 7th floor and the exchange rate is better than the hotel. Ming Yao offered 30.15 vs hotel's 29.12 (USD to TWD). Remember to bring along your passport! The hotel is also located near to Taiwan's famous pineapple tart "ChiaTe" bakery store, the one and only store in Taipei. You can walk there if you want to, it will take about 20min however a taxi ride will not cost you too much. Be sure to buy some, you will not regret it!!

Cons: It was a bit of a disaster from arrival. The staff were very unclear on what they were doing eg. I was told they would take a pre-auth on my card (pretty standard) but then I was told they would swipe the room rate + NT$6,000 as a guarantee, the balance could then be spent in the bar or restaurants. I did not get the jist of this at all!! So after more than a few minutes arguing the Management agreed to charge only the due amount. I told them we would be paying cash, but low an behold the receptionist already charged my card, and then wanted to do a return - it was very messy!! I also don’t like paying before seeing my room, and in this case I was upset to find the bathroom was not cleaned well, with soap and hair from the previous guest all around the edge of the bath. For this I was offered a cheap bottle of wine. Furthermore I then found a cockroach in the room. When I told the staff I barely got a reply..... it was less than satisfactory to be honest. I’ve stayed in a lot better for a lot cheaper.
