Pros: I've been to Hilltop Guesthouse several times in the past few years (it’s my 6th or 7th overnight stay there...). Breakfast on and the view from the terrace is always nice. The staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. They provide useful tips where to go, what to see and help with reservations/taxi etc.
Cons: Going downtown requires a taxi/transportation...
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views over a GREAT breakfast! Walking distance to some bars and restaurants. Very large, comfortable room.
Cons: Nothing!
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable clean & simple rooms, opening onto a garden with a pool. Views over the neighbourhood (but not downtown Windhoek). Quiet location, behind a secure manned gate. Breakfast prepared individually to order and served outside our room was a nice touch.
Cons: Owner didn't appear at any stage. The staff are more than capable but the owner's presence would make it more personable.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Great view, lots of privacy!
Cons: Liked everything
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Good property, really comfortable beds which were much appreciated after a long flight. Pretty views, you definitely need a car to get into town as it is a verY hilly location. Breakfast very good.
Cons: Some small maintenance issues and waited 45 minutes for breakfast to be served. Checkin staff unfriendly.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Good location close to city
Cons: Check in and checkout times were inflexibly enforced. Travellers need some flexibility as long as it doesn’t impact on other guests.

8,8 Excellent
Pros: The staff is fantastic, super friendly and helpful. The location is great with a stunning view; food is good.
Cons: The rooms are really basic; clean though. The shower requires upgrade; the curtains are white and not really thick allowing the light through so the room is not dark at night. (I had a room overlooking the parking area)

Pros: One of the best venues in Windhoek, central location with large rooms and very good restaurant
Cons: Nothing
9,3 Excellent
Pros: fantastic breakfast, friendly staff, great view

Pros: Honestly, the entire experience. We had made a provisional book in May physically and now they remembered us by name.
Cons: We stayed for a short period of time.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location and setting Great Breakfast!
Cons: Sleeping in Room 7 was rather disturbed - due to the rather noisy outside air conditioner units across the hallway from the front door. PS: I don't know which ignoramus needs an air conditioner unit at this time of the year anyhow! Although it is winter, it was NOT very cold....
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Nice view and food.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Very big rooms with lots of space. Comfortable beds. Good shower. Good breakfast with amazing view over Klein Windhoek. Nice sundowner terrace.

Pros: I have been to 61 countries in the world and find Namibian people to be really special

Cons: hm hate to say it but the food was better when we were there about 5 years ago. Generous portions though.

Pros: Spectacular location and excellent boutique hotel, very comfortable with a secluded pool area and great views over the city. Cafe terrace also very pleasant.
Cons: Would have liked to stay longer than one night!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
7,0 Good
Cons: RETURN VISITORS : THIRD VISIT WE HAD TWO ROOMS : THE A/C IN BOTH ROOMS WAS SERIOUSLY INADEQUATE . THERE WERE NO LONGER TEA OR COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES IN THE ROOM WE DID NOT EAT IN THE RESTAURANT , AS THE MENU HAS CHANGED VERY LITTLE OVER THE LAST 3 YEARS .
6,8 Good
Pros: 1. Rooms are very tidy and everything works well. 2. Cleanliness is 5 star. 3. The location and building itself is really impressive. 4. Non-reception staff were lovely, kind and went out of their way to be helpful. 5. The pool is a winner!
Cons: 1. I'm perplexed as to why you would put winter sheets on a guest's bed in the middle of the summer!? 2. Reception staff were truly unimpressive. Well-dressed, sure, good manners, but I didn't feel welcome at all. He isn't well enough trained or empowered to deal with Booking.com reservations. The person who checked me in had to make several calls to find my booking and confirm that I would actually have a bed that night. 3. I looked at the dining room's menu whilst I waited to be check-in. It looked nice, but heavy. I would've thought in such hot climes some lighter food would be in the order of the day. However, the receptionist also didn't really sell the restaurant which did put me off. 4. I searched the room high and low for a room service menu . . . none to be found. I opted for a local eatery instead. 5. The security guard in the parking area asked for food and water after I came back from dinner, saying that he forgot his at home. It is NOT GOOD and creates a terrible impression! Shouldn't guards also have access to at least water whilst on site overnight? Toilets? 6. At over N$2k per night I would expect a treat on the pillow. I'd rather get the kitchen to make handmade turkish delights or marshmallows and skip the skimpy roses in the room. 7. Very good shower gel, shampoo, BUT shower caps and vanities which are typically not used as often had worn packaging which really detracted for me from the great bathroom my suite had. When it comes to clean and tidy, old is not good. 8. My room had loads of mosquitoes despite all the windows being shut. . . . I would provide some organic/green spray for guests if I know the rainy season throws up the odd mozzie infestation. 9. TV reception was a bit erratic and the channels were rather limited.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, great sunset view, impewssive restaurant. Helpful staff speaking not only in English and German, but in Russian also. Good breakfast. Personalized attitude of the staff. Spacious parking. Big and stilysh room with a comfortable bed. Fully packed mini-bar.
Cons: Moskitous in the room, but the staff did something - next night everything was good. A bit strange WiFi sistem - voucher with password is valid for one day only, every next day you have to ask for a new one.
9,3 Excellent
Pros: Location restaurant and staff
8,5 Excellent
Pros: They offered champagne and small cake on arrival which was a lovely and welcome touch. Rooms are a good size and feel like Europe because they are quite old and beautifully decorated. Bed is comfortable and facilities all you need. Air conditioning needed tweaking which took a while to work out but was good in the end. Pool area was perfect not overlooked and shade or sun options with the loungers. Food was exceptional as was the service, a little expensive compared to other places in Namibia but the standards were up to European standards in London or Paris. Staff always friendly and wanted to help with anything you asked which was great.
Cons: Our room had an interconnecting door, great when travelling with a family, sadly we weren't and our neighbours checked out at 3am, were very noisy and woke us for two hours whilst they packed. The breakfast room was lovely, some wallpaper we hanging off the wall...but it's an old room! It was quite pricey compared to other hotels in the city, but it was worth it.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location. Excellent accommodation. Charming staff. Very good food and all reasonably priced.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike.
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast a little disappointing in choice and lacking in imagination compared to the excellence of dinner Garden and terraces were attractive and with good views. Staff friendly, helpful and managed effectively by professionally trained manager.
Cons: Breakfast dining area a bit drab.

Pros: Wonderful breakfast spread
7,0 Good
Pros: Location was good because we needed to attend to a client close by. Basic facilities in order, breakfast was good. Coffee excellent. Staff friendly.
Cons: This is one of the older establishments. Not all the listed television channels according to the printed list in the room were available. Basin in bathroom did not drain well. Furnishings will need a makeover in the near future. I expected never furnishings for the price we paid.
6,8 Good
Pros: great breakfast top security
Cons: bathroom
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff all of them. Breakfast cooked by Rona very good, free wi-fi, secure parking, swimming pool, modern bathroom.
Cons: Not much. However, a preventative maintenance program should be initiated asap. There were a few niggles such as loose toilet seats & taps leaking water onto the floor and & painting that is a bit overdue.
6,3 Good
Pros: The breakfast
Cons: We had either fleas or bedbugs in our bed, was bitten senseless. When I checked out and suggested the room gets fumigated, the receptionist did not know what I was talking about. all the ceiling lights in the room fused. The solar light provided in the room was flat. The tap at the wash basin was faulty.

Pros: The welcome. We had stayed here once before and were not disappointed. Our return visit for 3 nights did not disappoint us. We had the same room as before. Large with large double bed, TV , desk, settee, refrigerator, large bathroom with his and hers sinks shower and bath. Another door led onto a patio and the swimming pool. Nice buffet breakfast with bacon eggs sausage to order. The owner could not do enough to make us comfortable. Nice quiet area(apart from the thunderstorms) Will certainly stay here again if in Windhoek .
Cons: The wet weather. Caught the end of the rainy season.
9,5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast okay, bed nice and firm, room larger than expected and very comfortable - we even had direct access to the pool! Parked in front of the place, but there was a guard - car was safe!

Cons: No issues
8,8 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious. I liked the bed as it was comfortable, the pillows were comfy. The room was clean. I was quite happy.
Cons: Not really what I didn’t like but they could improve on on their fruits at breakfast so that they are different everyday as we had apples and bananas throughout . I would also like to suggest that they extend their breakfast time on a Sunday so that if one goes to church before they serve breakfast, they can eat it in return. So it need be a bit longer maybe up to 10 or 1030 am? The Tv in my room wasn’t working . So they might need to check on their TVs from time to time. However when I brought it to their attention, ‘‘twas fixed within 24 hours.

Pros: After a disasterous previous night when checking in the morning staff was quite friendly and very helpful to organize a last minute shuttle for us. Second was quite nice and clean.
Cons: First room was a disaster. Had no electricity and phone also not working to call reception. Had to go down 00:00 at night to get it sorted and the staff reluctantly helped us. At the bar they didn’t want to serve us with drinks and told us that they are closed but it was 20min before closing time. Bar also still had a lot of people sitting being served. While in the elevator it got stuck and dropped a couple of floors. At breakfast they had one person who has to serve two separate stations omelette and meat which also caused a delay in service.

Cons: Poor tv channels Poor internet AC in room not working efficiently
3,8 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast and breakfast staff were great.
Cons: Hotel straight out of the 70s. The position of the hotel is right in a main route out of the city so it is busy and loud. I was in room 109, two single beds, one was soft and squeaky, the other was hard as hell. Air con not very effective in the room. Bathroom poor! When you open the tap the water cascades over the basin bowl into the floor. Stayed three nights only because I was charged upfront for the stay! They removed the bath mat and never replaced it or the towels. Only one towel for the extra two nights. I asked for assistance from reception on night one to move but they said this was impossible. I asked them to replace the towels and to bring extra soap, this never happened. Furniture in room in very poor date of repair. WiFi download and upload almost nonexistent. Extremely poor service from a big branded hotel!!!!!! You will have to up your game Marriot Protea!!!!!

Cons: We’ve requested king deluxe rooms, on arrival we got twin rooms and it took the hotel almost an hour to get the rooms sorted. On booking.com our room rate was inclusive of all meals and selected beverages however the hotel staff questioned it until we showed our booking and on check out again. We cancelled our airport pick up via email a day in advance however was included in email correspondence to hotel where they stated we we a “no show”. I took it to the hotel reception and they told me to ignore and a few days later I received an email with invoice for airport pickup. Really frustrating.
5,5 Okay
Cons: We regularly make use of this Hotel - this time however, we were greatly disappointed: we occupied room 220: our bar fridge was faulty so we had to ask the kitchen to keep our "padkos" overnight in their fridge. The next morning it was nowhere to be found!, The bath plug leaked and the shower did not drain resulting in a flooded bathroom. We asked to speak to the manager - not in, and reported to desk manager - 2 days later - still no apology or reaction from anyone!
10,0 Excellent
Pros: The location... outdoor is well kept
Cons: Wifi and electricity went out for about two hours... it was scary as I could not reach friends and family. Also surprised they did not have a back up power system for such outages. The heat during this outage period was unbearable. We had to wait outside by the pool until the lights came back on
8,2 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness, the stuff were really friendl. Nice food..
9,5 Excellent
Pros: The location was a couple minutes out of Windhoek so you really needed a car. The breakfast was large and plentiful with many choices. The room was cozy and bed very comfortable, loved having a deck overlooking the pool as well! And top top it off the staff were a delight
7,0 Good
Pros: Very nice, clean rooms and the fastest internet I have found in Windhoek. Breakfast is also some of the best I've ever had in an African hotel.
Cons: Restaurant was only mediocre, and location is a little far from town. During the day, hotel staff came in my room often - four or five times per day - in addition to the cleaning staff. Very annoying.
7,0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was quite good. Also enjoyed to be able to walk around the golf course. Proximity to the Grove Mall convenient. Good wifi.
Cons: Beds not that comfy... Noise of promotions at night over the weekend. Buffet lunches and dinner gets a bit monotonous after a while. Not many really healthy and fresh options either.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is very good.
Cons: The noise due to the choir rehearsal early Sunday morning
8,8 Excellent
Cons: pool was not kept clean at all
7,0 Good
Cons: The swimming pool area was overloaded with people maybe for a wedding so no place to sit and dry after swimming. Same story on the first evening it was busy and noisy in the garden and close to the bedroom terrace. Sad because in itself it is nice but the people from outside the hotel should not get access to the pool...

9,3 Excellent
Pros: Marianna was very friendly, welcoming and hospitable. She was very helpful and informative. The room was huge, with air con, desk, decent shower/toilet, and access to the pool. The internet worked well and allowed me to work easily. It was lovely sitting outside listening to the birds and watching the sun go down (even though it was close to the road). Marianna was super accommodating in making a cooked vegan breakfast for me of fried onions, tomatoes/peppers and mushrooms and had soy milk available also so I could eat the cereal that was part of the continental breakfast. The location is just opposite the Namibian state house - so felt very grand, and likely a secure location. I had arranged an airport transfer with Marianna and it was good and affordable service.
Cons: The road isn't super busy but because of the hilly landscape and location the noise did travel - it didn't bother me much but if you are, perhaps ask for a room on the quieter sides of the property. I didn't like the dog hair in the lounge by reception (it got on my bags as i waited for my pickup after checkout).
