My husband enjoyed relaxing in the hammock on several occasions. There was a small water leak in the first room we were placed in. Upon notifying the staff, we were quickly moved to another room. The staff was very friendly.

The staff was very friendly.
Cons: I signage for the hotel was very small making it a little difficult to locate the hotel. We had some pretty loud guests that checked in late during the evening of our stay. You could hear them talking and laughing very loudly in the atrium:courtyard area. There are quiet hours, but this did not seem to be enforced by the staff. My husband got up and opened the door to see what was going on, and the guests quieted down and went to the rooms at that point.

Cons: I saw a couple of dead cockroaches, once in the hall and once outside looking out from the elevator. It would be nice to have some instructions for the air conditioner. There was a light coming from the unit that lit up my whole room and it would have been nice to turn that off.

Keep in mind this location is very close to the berthing area for the many cruise ships that visit -- which means a huge number of cruise ship passengers making quick stops at the many local souvenir shops and clogging the streets.

No privacy in the room terrace. The wooden door toward terrace need maintenance. No parking thou we knew that before hand. The roof bar is very cozy but the mixology not good at all. Paid for a classic margarita, terrible mix. Beers are not cold. Our bed had some weird noise when you toss. Sanitary paper should be upgraded.

Pros: La Terraza is a beautifully restored hotel with tile flooring, alcoves, and a beautiful rooftop terrace. There are modern touches as well like walk in showers, flat screen TVs, and a rather reasonably priced mini bar. The beds were very comfortable and the view from the terrace was pretty impressive. Last but not least, Carmen, the front desk manager/coffee barista was incredibly charming, kind, and knowledgeable. If you're looking for a place to stay in Old San Juan, this is it!

Pros: La Terraza is a beautifully restored hotel with tile flooring, alcoves, and a beautiful rooftop terrace. There are modern touches as well like walk in showers, flat screen TVs, and a rather reasonably priced mini bar. The beds were very comfortable and the view from the terrace was pretty impressive. Last but not least, Carmen, the front desk manager/coffee barista was incredibly charming, kind, and knowledgeable. If you're looking for a place to stay in Old San Juan, this is it!
Cons: There is virtually no street parking available which I believe is just a symptom of that part of the city. However, there is a parking garage around the corner but it's a flat rate of $20/24-hrs so be prepared. We also had a difficult time getting to the hotel once we reached Old San Juan due to construction and lots of one way streets. I suggest avoiding the rental car and using some sort of public transport or your own two legs.

Also the pool wasn't really a pool, more like a dipping pond and the water was cloudy and murky. One thing our room needed was a mini Fridge.

Cons: The customer service really falls flat. It was hit and miss with the staff. A couple of the staff were kind and somewhat hospitable, but there were several who weren't. The amenities were also lacking. If you are hoping for comfortable spaces to relax and read a book, you're really going to be disappointed. The breakfast consists of dry cornflakes, doll-size cups for coffee, and sliced bread, and store-bought lemon loaf. We heard a rumor that you could request eggs, but no one on staff mentioned this to us, and the guy in the "kitchen" certainly didn't give you the feeling that he would be happy to make anything...maybe it was his lack of eye contact or his back always turned to guests. We were happy to have stayed there once, but we wouldn't stay there again.

Cons: We arrived on December 5, 2018. I called on November 29, 2018 to be assured that a late arrival would be ok, as our airline reservation was changed to a later time. When we arrived at Da'house Hotel, at 1:45 a.m., there was no one to check us in. We had to find a different Hotel, the Hyatt Place, and spent $321.00 for room. Very angry and disappointed was our mood.

Also the water cooler was out of order so there was no drinking water readily available and no water bottle provided. (Tap Water is drinkable but chlorinated). Terrible water pressure in shower, hard to wash your hair or wash the sand off from the beach

There is a supermarket and some cafés and fast foods just few metres far from the hotel and also a café doirectly in the hotel with some basic food. The stuff was very nice and helpful, the room was ok, maybe little faded, the bad was comfortable. I had a room with balcony to the street and I liked the view, however, the street was quite noisy. This is not a problem of the hotel itself, but those who need absolutely quiet rooms should take those without balcony to the street. I liked it, though.

Cons: The only negative thing was a bad or rather nonexistent wifi connection. I could catch wifi only in the lobby but not in my room on the second floor. The stuff knew about it, so it was not an acute problem or momentary outage, it was a long-term problem, however, the hotel did not do anything about it. But in case in the description of the hotel is writen "wifi connection", I expect to have it in the room and the advice to go to the lobby was ridiculous - I paid for the room and I want to stay in it and watch news etc. in my bad, not in the lobby. I don´t really thing it is such a huge problem to buy one more router.

Pros: It is a very nice boutique hotel. It is close (walking distance) to all the attractions in Old San Juan. Very friendly staff. Our room had a dining table, family room, hammoc, and a niece view to San Juan harbor. Perfect price for Old San Juan.

Pros: Great Location. Shops and restaurants right outside the entrance. The bathroom was partially updated.
Cons: We were placed in room 6. The room had no windows to the outside. Small room that felt like you were boxed in. No arm chair to sit down. The flooring was old, chipped and dirty. After walking from the bathroom into the bedroom, my feet were filthy. There was a beautiful framed mirror in the bathroom, but the mirror glass was so old I could barely see through it to shave, and my wife could not use it to apply her makeup.

Cons: The main gate looks like a ruin. And locked! I had to go to the next cafe and wait for hotel’s stuff coming. The gate needs open code, but hotel didn’t send it to me before my arrival. And no elevator.

Cons: Property was under sone construction. There only one person / staff that sometimes is there. Air conditioning wasn’t strong enough. Due to location above a pigeons park, the room by window wasn’t that clean. Tv didn’t work

Cons: There is no parking like all the other hotels in Old San Juan (500 years old city). Some areas need to dust off more often than they do.

Cons: Too small for the price... Staff was unknowlegable about the area places to go... When they were explaining the room and amenities they told us the price if we “stole” something. There are so many respectful ways to tell if something is missing or broken... But stolen!? God... they need to be trained better.

Cons: Because of it old structure lots of stairs and ups and downs and delicate plumbing. But that's part of the charm! No staff at night but phone in case any problems arise.

Cons: We had a suite. Air conditioning was on all day and night and room was extremely hot. TV wouldn't work. Noone to call to complain when we got back at night. Windows dont open either which would have offered an ocean breeze if they had of opened. Would not recommend

Pros: It was close to cruise and all the shopping in Old San Juan. The staff was very helpful in assisting with restaurants and places to visit.
Cons: I hated fact that we had actual keys which were difficult to use in doors, often not opening or getting stuck. This was especially difficult for my blind partner who is used to easy swipe keys. This caused him to lose one of the keys which was then thankfully found by one of the staff. We were charged for the lost key but grateful the charges reversed when key was found.

Cons: The description of the hotel indicates that they have parking, when I almost get there I called for directions to the parking and they said "We don't offer parking". Well the main reason I chose this hotel was because of the parking, I know for sure that parking in Old San Juan can be a nightmare. To make it worse, it Rained, but that's not the hotels fault of course.
