Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests consistently praised the hotel's excellent location in Old San Juan, making it easy to walk to attractions, restaurants, and historic sites. Many appreciated the building's historic charm and unique architecture. Some guests enjoyed the rooftop pool and views, while others mentioned friendly staff and comfortable rooms. However, there were repeated complaints about room cleanliness, maintenance issues, uncomfortable beds, and inconsistent service. Problems with air conditioning, noise, and the pool being out of service were also noted. Overall, the location and atmosphere were the main highlights, but improvements are needed in comfort and upkeep.

Waited 30 minutes to check in. No one was at reception. No one answered phone's anywhere in the hotel. Room door jamp grossly out of alignment - use you shoulder. HVAC missing remote. Clerk came when called (once) to adjust the temp then left with his remote! TV operation was a total mystery - markings on the remote were worn off a long time ago. Bathroom - little or no hot water. Towels, only 2, ...

Pros (+) Quiet hotel, very cute rooms, clean, fun rooftop atmosphere with great city views a pool and lots of spots to lounge.
Cons (-) The elevator is so incredibly slow. You are given an actual key for the door, not a card and that is a pain to keep track of.

Very good

Pros (+) It’s a beautiful colonial style boutique hotel in the heart of old San Juan. The rooms are gorgeous - with tiles on the floor and high wooden beamed ceilings. Bed was large and really comfortable.
Cons (-) Water in the bathroom was lukewarm at most. Breakfast service was extremely slow and food quality was poor.
