Pros: The staff was super friendly, we worked with Evelyn and she was very helpful. She even gave us some tips and did not mind answering my questions about the local area.Upon our return they called a taxi for us so that we could get to the airport. I thought that was very kind and helpful.Cons: I feel like the insurance should be less expensive or you should get some of that money back if there are no incidents. We spent well over $100 more on our vehicle just to make sure we were protected. I feel like we should’ve gotten that back up on the return or at least some of it since it was not utilized.

I was not a native speaker so it was difficult to understand. The car had a dirty lingering smell to it, and windshield fogged up horribly that required an extra cleaning on my part.

Pros: PriceCons: Had to get a $15 cab ride because their shuttle operation. Was not in service. I tried to modify my rental and they did not answer the phone, I dropped off the car and they were not open during their posted hours. Their website said they had no cars available when in reality they were closed for business. I simple phone call could have sufficed. They could have had someone to answer phone calls remotely even if they were closed.

Pros: The customer service was extremely four and we truly did not like any part of the interaction with Payless car rental.Cons: The customer service representative was extremely rude. We waited literally an hour and a half in line because every customer was taking about a half an hour to process. We were asked to present our entire car insurance policy to the representative in order to rent the car. No one brings their entire insurance policy with them, and they required it which was why the line took so long. I finally had to call my car insurance back in the states and have them send me my entire plan so that I could show the representative. They also forced us to buy a tollway pass for 60 extra dollars because they lied and said that we couldn’t pay with cash to get through the tolls. Worst car rental service I have ever experienced.

Cons: We were given an estimate of around $90 for our rental and then charged an additional $100 in hidden fees at the counter. It is what they call the “bait and switch” and it felt unquestionably criminal; we are pursuing legal means to recover the double charges!

Pros: The vehicle was exactly what we were told we were going to get. Enough room for our family.Cons: Upon arriving, we were surprised to see that the place was NOT at the airport, they had to send a shuttle. When booking it said Payless Car rental was at Luis Munoz International, not the case. Fine. When we got to the location our expected price to pay was not close to what we paid. It was about $80 more. When asking the associate about the extra charges we were unable to get a break down for additional charges. All we were told was additional taxes and fees. But taxes and fees had already been on the estimate. No where on the reservation does it say that we were to be charged additional. Only time under terms and conditions that we were to get charged additional is pick up or drop off at a different time date or location. OR choosing a different vehicle. It is disheartening that this company takes advantage of families this way. Arriving later at night in a island that you don’t know, do you truly have any other option than to abide by their last minute changes? I will not be returning to kayak for future bookings.

It took 20 minutes to get picked up from the airport once we were in the right spot. When we picked up the vehicle they upcharged me for multiple things and didn't put some very obvious damage to the car on the initial papers.

Cons: I made my reservation for 4 days and was given a total that included taxes and fees. The charges were: Car Rental: $ 88.00 Taxes & Fees $ 33.00 Total: $121.00 When I got to the counter at 2:00 am the girl at the counter stated that my estimated amount did not include all the taxes so I was charged as follows: Car Rental: $ 88.00 Taxes & Fees $ 95.06 Total: $183.06 This is a big difference and this is DECEPTIVE. It was 2:00 am and everyone was tired so we had no other choice but to just accept the price. When they brought us our car, the car was in bad shape with a lot of dings and scratches but the worst part is the front bumper was screwed in place with a drywall screw. You could see the screwhead on the side panel of the car. When I asked for another car because I was concerned about the car’s safety and reliability, they told me they didn’t have anything else to offer me. By now it’s 2:30 am and we were really tired and had no other choice but to accept the car I have used Dollar in the past and have never had an issue. I am extremely disappointed in the level of service, condition of the car and amount of inaccuracy in total charge of this Dollar Rental location

Cons: Oh my, this place is a mess... it's now called allied. I rented here before with the same experience. This time I had to cancel because they were saying my online rate wouldn't allow me to use my private vehicle full coverage.... so rented online then they wanted an additional 174$... went to NU down the street got a nicer car for same original online price. Also 2 different customers were accused of damaging their car while we were standing in line, both had taken pics and proved otherwise. It is slow, rude, disorganized, poorly ran, etc.

Cons: Faster service. I had to wait two hours in line to get the car. The car stunk like rotten, I’m assuming from being wet before. I’ll definitely chose someone else to rent from Next time.

Pros: The pick up and the return was very easy and rapid. The service was absolutely excellent! Cordial staff and even offered us to bring us back to the marina where we stayed, even tho it was out of there way! Pros: The drop off was quick and easy.Cons: The company could have been more upfront on all of the rental charges including insurance requirements and deposit fees to be charged upfront at the time of picking up vehicle. The communication was lacking on behalf of Ace car rental/Charlie car rental.

Wouldn’t accept my insurance- scam!Cons: I have coverage through my car insurance for both liability and collision. Company wouldn’t let me decline- cost me an additional $200. Total scam!

ScamPros: They sent the van for us automatically at new time when our flight was delayed 2 hours.Cons: It is offsite from the airport unlike all the other rental car companies. When we got to the office offsite they told us they gave our car away because our flight was delayed. They knew we were delayed though as they sent the van to pick us up at new arrival time. They then told us they did have a car but we had to pay 50% more than what we booked for in advance. We declined and went back to airport and rented from a reputable company.

Pros: Staff was very polite and helpful.Cons: Other rental companies that offer EZPass you pay for tolls used during your car rental. With Sixt even if you only will use the toll for 2 days you must take ezpass for the length of your rental. @ $7.95/per day + taxes. The other option is not to take it and drive longer to avoid tolls. For the extra expense one adds to the bill you probably might want to shop around first.

Pros: Free shuttle between airport and rental office (was especially helpful during dropoff because I was very late and nearly missed my flight)Cons: Took over 1.5 hours to get a car even though I had made a reservation well in advance. Estimated cost of rental when I made the reservation was $60 but I paid $105 due to additional charges that were not mentioned until the time of pickup.

NEVER rent from USavePros: When I landed, the rental agency was closed. They knew what time my flight was coming in but they did not notify me when I booked the reservation that their office would be closed when my flight arrived. I called the national number. They said if I called the local number someone would pick up. They didn't. National number also said they would have someone call me back as soon as they opened in the morning. They did not. I called the national number several times in the morning but kept getting sent to voicemail with a promise they'd call me back. They never did. Finally called the local number in the morning. He asked what time I arrived the night before and said they were closed at that time. (Funny... the national office said they closed at a different time... ) Local guy also said said because I had not shown the night before he'd canceled the rental. I asked how could he help me now. He just said he couldn't. Told me to go online to rent a car from them. I went online and the site said to call the local office to rent a car. At that point I just gave up.

Cons: I received my rental and everything was fine. Two days into my trip the brakes on the car I rented failed and thank god I was able to stop the car. I then had to get the brakes replaced at my expense. Making the trip miserable. I was reimbursed for the brakes after I returned the car, but in no way does that compensate for the moment you step on the brakes to find there are none. This company needs to remember that vehicle maintenance and customer safety needs to come first and foremost.

Need refund, was not given the carCons: Our flight got delayed and we did not get into San Juan in time to pick up our rental, so it was canceled, however, I was still charged for this $50.00. The reference number is "4937". Please let me know what I need to do to get a refund.

U don,t saveCons: Well in the end you don't save. Lots of hidden fees that they say are mandatory, like roadside assistance insurance cost me $24.00. Not shown on my kayak reservation total. Kayak quote was $158.08 they said minimum was $184.69. That's after we went through a big hassle discussion about insurance. They would not honor my premier visa insurance. I had to call my Regular auto insurance co and get a copy of my policy for them. They also took an imprint of my credit card which they said they will keep on file for 30 days in case there is any additional charges or un discovered damage. The whole thing made me pretty uncomfortable. Not even sure they can legally do that?

No way!Pros: ...we cxld our reservation and booked elsewhere.Cons: Waited 30 minutes curbside to finally call and receive no answer. Got picked up and driven to a hole in the wall building where the neighbor company was. Waited an hour while the person in front of us argued with the one service agent. Finally got to the front where he tried to scam is into buying incredibly overpriced insurance coverage and toll road packages. Ended up having them drive is back to the airport to rent with a reputable company. Don't go!!
