Pickup issuesPros: The staff was polite and helpful.Cons: We waited for the Hertz shuttle at the airport for over 25 minutes before finally just taking a cab. We try to call them and got no answer. We also tried to use their FaceTime at the kiosk inside the airport, but we're unable to reach them.

CASH GRABPros: The car.Cons: We picked up the car at LONDON GATWICK airport and it would have been helpful if the girl who processed our pick up could have informed us about the LONDON CONGESTION CHARGE. We learned about it after driving in to London twice. You can pay the charge before going in to London and it is A LOT CHEAPER.. now we have to pay the fines AND PAY ENTERPRISE A 35 GBP processing fee per fine. I understand it is our responsibility to be aware of things but a little heads up would have been appreciated. Especially when we dropped off the car at Stansted and were told by the young man who processed the return that we should have been advised about the London Congestion charge.

Unfortunate salesman dissuaded customer from enjoyPros: Vehicle cleanliness and overall high standard of maintenance that was obvious from the beginning.Cons: Salesman used fear mongering and scare tactics in order to force an upgrade on the insurance coverage, ever after they had been shown a 3rd party full coverage proof of insurance. Salesman was manipulative and overall dishonest with regard to the percentage of all rentals returned with serious or 'dead-lining' mechanical damage for drivers who did/did not purchase the additional insurance coverage from the agency.

Pretty little sewing machinePros: Price. efficiency of pick up and drop off. Color of car. Gas mileage. Looks of car (lots of amused comments). Size for traffic and city driving. Your staff were super helpful.Cons: Engine size - zero power. Enough for around town but on a long trip (London to Exeter) not good. Seats were not great for long ride - was glad to get out. BUT it did the job and we'll be back.

Shuttles come only once every 45 minutes!Pros: The car was fine and the staff was friendly.Cons: The rental agency is in the Crown Plaza Hotel in Crawley far from the airport. The shuttle only comes once every 45 minutes so be sure to very arrive early not to miss your flight, and be prepared for a long cold wait at the bus stop.

Plan for some major extra costsPros: The car was clean and ran well, and they were very friendly on pickup and drop off.Cons: Your Canadian insurance is not applicable in Europe. Only in North America. Well, remember when you get extra insurance in Canada, and it’s $10 a day? Not in Europe. The first quote from the attendant was 42 pounds a day (that’s $70 CAD!!!). Yes. A day. When we started asking questions, it got better. Roadside assistance removed. 12 pounds. Our $200 quote for a rental turned into $550. However, all said and done, they treated us well, and the car was clean and comfortable (although check for a spare - we had none). When we talked to our friends who rented in Ireland, they made all the arrangements to rent from Canada, and the cost was identical. So the warning is, the cost you see is for the rental. Multiply it by 150 to 200% for the real cost.

Deceptive. Will rip you offPros: The car was clean. That's about it. Everything else is wrong with this agency.Cons: They don't advertise they will force you to buy insurance at 20 pounds a day or you won't be able to take the car! In addition, when you pay with a non-UK credit card (which of course accepts pounds) they will convert themselves to pound sterling and rob another 3.5% of the total. Avoid them if you have the chance.

Theft insurance is mandatory, and different than cPros: The car was fine. The folks in the car lot were friendly.Cons: During check-in, they told me I needed to either pay 10 pounds a day for theft insurance, or allow them to put 1,000 pounds on my car for deductible. They told me it was separate and different than coverage from my insurance provided by my airline credit card. It seemed wrong, but I was in a hurry. I have never paid "theft" insurance on a car rented in the UK, or anywhere else in Europe.
