The directions given to collect the car was 6 years out of date. The named hotel had no connections to the rental company, thankful the hotel staff permitted us to call the phone number, and much appreciated after a long flight the rental company took us to their location.

Hard to locate both pick-up and drop-off locations, which in both cases were temporary trailers. "Shuttle bus" was not dedicated to their customers, but was more like public transportation, with multiple stops along the way.

You and Easirent are totally useless. You failed to provide the details of the courtesy shuttle service from the airport in your confirmation which resulted in us having to take a taxi and then walk from the wrong pick up location you provided. Then we had to wait over two hours outside the Easirent office before being able to obtain our rental car. They then argued with me about the value of the car which prevented me from being able to utilize the CDW offered by my credit card company. After taking 3 hours from leaving the airport to getting the car I was no longer in a state to prolong the agony. You provided the wrong mileage allowance in your confirmation. Easirent limit mileage to 500 miles per week for rentals over 28 days not the 100 miles per day you quoted. The car was not fully gassed, we almost ran out of fuel on the highway. They were generally very rude and unprofessional in all of their operations. We chatted with people in the 2 hour line up who confirmed that all of this was their standard procedures. They had very few cars available resulting in some renters having to wait for cars to be returned before being able to drive off. All round this was the worst rental process I have ever experienced.

Booked the rental well in advance of the rental car shortage for a cheap price. Went to collect the car and the manager was difficult and not friendly at all. He didn’t honor my personal vehicle insurance or credit card insurance and was trying to upscale me. Told him I wasn’t buying it because I was covered. Called my insurance company in the States to back me up but that didn’t work either. None of the staff was friendly and wouldn’t look at us or talk to us. The vehicle they had waiting for us in the lot had transmission/clutch problems I noticed when they put it back in the line after I told them I wasn’t going to do business with them. Called another rental company I’ve done business with before which cost me more money but no headaches. Not going back to Easirent.

My experience with Kayak, Priceline, and Easirent was not good. My goal was to rent a car for less than 48 hours beginning around noon on May 18, 2022. I was somewhat skeptical almost from the beginning, shortly after making the reservation. The website would not permit me to choose a specific time to pick up the car—only morning, afternoon, or evening. I chose afternoon for pickup and return. The website then gave me 2:00 pm for pickup and 5:00 pm for return, which is more than 48 hours. I tried to change the times on the website, but it would not let me. I would have had to cancel the reservation, and the alternative was to choose from a much higher rental fee. Therefore, I left it the way it was and decided to deal with it at time of rental. The Priceline confirmation email directed us to a hotel near Heathrow airport—the Sheraton Skyline Hotel. My wife and I paid for the airport hotel shuttle to take us to that hotel. However, when we got there, we were informed that Easirent had moved to a different hotel five or six years before. Thus my wife and I—we are senior citizens—had to make our way to the correct hotel via city busses with our luggage. This was quite an effort for us. The Easirent rental office at the Moxy, Hotel is a mobile-home type structure. My Priceline reservation for $110 was discarded, and I was presented with a contract with different terms was provided to me that included insurance and daily fees for conversion from dollars to pounds which makes no sense because we paid with a credit card. Even though I advised the Easirent employee that I would not be using the car over 48 hours, we were required to prepay for three days for 274 pounds. At car return I pointed out that I should be refunded 1/3 of the 274 pounds fee. I was initially told to contact Priceline, but another Easirent employee told me he would check on the matter and get back with me by email within a few hours. I received no email. To add insult to injury, I received a “receipt” from Priceline for the $110! I admit that I made some poor choices in continuing with this reservation, but I believe that I was the victim of a “switch and bait” process. I have rented dozens and perhaps even dozens of rental cars from airports, and I have always been treated fairly until now. Nice staff but it took 2-hours for pickup and an hour for drop off. Hotel Hopper bus from LHR to distant pickup location cost us nearly 2-hours despite actual paperwork taking only 10-15 minutes. Then return location had been inexplicably moved causing another hour delay (and nearly missing our flight).

Wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole again. Beaten up dirty car covered in bangs and dents and staff incredibly reluctant to document all the damages to paperwork on pick up to the point I had to take 40 photos of the car to ensure I was covered and not blamed for any of these on return of the vehicle. Pretty much a money making scheme through through pressing for additional insurances and targeting additional charges at the time of return.

Booked car hire through Kayak, it appeared to be a very competitive price. Arrived at advertised pick up address to find it was no longer there and had closed 18 months ago and relocated but they had not updated their website and it shows old address. Had to get an Uber to the new address. After arriving, I was told that as I had "booked through a third party" I would need to pay £695 insurance on top of the car hire charge or I would not be able to take the car. I refused, and asked for written confirmation that this was true. The assistant could not show any evidence, and just kept saying "you booked through a third party" I left without the car, and went to Europecar and hired one cheaper there. Nowhere on Kayak or the car hire companies paperwork does it say that compulsory insurance charges will be added on top. I will never book through Kayak again, this car hire company is scamming people into paying higher charges than agreed which is illegal

The staff was very friendly and efficient both at pickup and drop off.When we picked up the car the staff person assisting us did the processing outside at the car. This would be OK in nice weather but it was raining when we picked up. Suggest that the procedure be done as much undercover as possible when weather is bad.

Car condition poor and difficultThe car had 30,000 miles and was covereved in small dents and scratches. I questioned this with the rep. Who was helpful and she used a small plastic template stating only large damage is considered material. However when i rerurned the car a different rep started examining every tiny scratch with NO TEMPLATE in sight. I looked after the car and all the damage was on there. After some arguing she agreed. But i will not fo back, ill use Sixt where you get none of this rubbish and much newer cars.

Pick up is in dark underground garage at LHR. Staff do not accompany customers to mark paperwork with existing damage to vehicle or help with controls on vehicle. Telephone assistance, very difficult to reach a live person to address concerns after pickup. World wide Sixt computer system was down for over two days and email assistance was delayed. Usual problems communicating with a live person when I was eventually able to talk to someone in English as it was not their first language. Insurance is very expensive at the counter at pickup. Be sure to buy online with rental prior to pickup. Good luck!

I should have known better. When picking up the vehicle, I was handed a vehicle damage report that literally listed dozens of minor scratches on the vehicle. I couldn't actually see any of these on the car but decided to overlook that. Then, upon returning the vehicle, I was charged a significant amount of money for a very minor scratch on the hubcap, far in excess of what it would have taken to replace the entire hubcap, and certainly not warranted for the minor scratch present. Also, the pickup location is very difficult to find, and the drop-off is equally difficult, as you have to ignore the customary signs pointing to rental car returns at the airport.

The new car didn't have ANY USB chargers... only USB-C. That was bloody annoying for a new rental car. That ridiculous system for checking how many points you have on your licence is also both unique and antiquated. I know it's not a Hertz specific problem... but FFS!!! The staff member did help in the end and offer an alternative. The car was great and at a good price.

Received a basic vehicle for £40 a day, and when asked about extending for two days, it went up 1500%, and they wanted for £1,200 for two extra days. Was told by staff, to take vehicle and extended after collected vehicle. When tried to do that, was told can only be done in branch. Basically incompetent staff, blind leading the blind and extremely bad customer service. First and last time using Hertz!

The car was clean and I had no issues with the vehicle.Rekha's behaviour at the counter was unacceptable. She was rude to me and other employees around her. She asked for additional address proof (not sure why since I've never needed more than my license with Hertz). She ran my card for £373 without asking what type of insurance I wanted. She did not tell me about the hidden fees. I expected a bill of £67 + insurance as stated on the Kayak site. When I get there, insurance is £55/day (absolutely insane!), £20 VAT not included in my quote. She was even rude to her own employee denying one of them a coffee break while I was standing at the counter. Overall I enjoyed the car, the dropoff experience but Rekha was downright awful. Would not want to interact with her again.

1. heck of a long line to get the car; why does it take such a long time to rent a car when it's pre-ordered and it's just some basic paperwork. 2. I'm still waiting for a bill; haven't even received one by email. Their system was down when I returned the car and yet I've been charged more than was quoted with no explanation at the time of return.

I regularly use Europcar as they provide good service. Check-in took a bit longer than I am used to, perhaps add 1 more member of staff. Car also smelled a bit 'over-deoderised', had a vague hint of someone smoking in it. Car was not super clean (streaky) on outside and the windows were a bit grubby. Person doing the hand out was very nice, and the car was good.

The price more than doubled at pick up after insurance and extra driver added. Problem with key which we had to fix - they did reimburse a bit for this but was major hassle getting it sorted. Car was okay but smelled of cigarette smoke. The first customer service person was too much of a sales person for my liking and the drop of person was much much better and more professional. Just so expensive to hire a car these days.

Europcar refused to accept my prepaid insurance sourced thro Allianz at the time of booking via the Kayak web site which moved the rental to CarRentals com. Europcar insisted that third party insurance providers were not allowed under their terms of sale ,and buying theirs was my only option. So my insurance cost for the 12 day rental went from $143 thro Allianz to $581 thro Europcar. This did not a happy camper make-- at the rental counter after an overnight flight from Phila. Allianz did reimburse the $143 given their policy was surplus to requirements. This is my first and last rental with Europcar,Kayak,and CarRentals.com.

The car (or similar) to what I had reserved online was not available when I arrived. The gentleman on the desk tried desperately to upsell me in to a more expensive car. They offered me several inappropriate alternatives, at an additional expense may I add, after one hour I ended up paying an additional £300 + to get a suitable vehicle so that I could get on my way. Not impressed Europcar!

I used to use Europcar most times I came into Heathrow, but after the egregious actions of the agent misselling me insurance on this last occasion I won’t be going near this company again. Terms like “mandatory” and “required by UK law” were used by the agent to pressure me into purchasing what is actually optional insurance and extract an extra $250 out of me. When I realized something was seriously off with this, I raised the issue with Europcar “customer service” but they have showed zero good faith in pursuing my complaint. Other reviews on Google from a year ago highlight the same deceitful techniques being used at this location so, as shocking as it is, it clearly is not a priority for them to resolve. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE! Stick with a real car rental company such as AVIS, SIXT, etc. This is a franchise. They are incentivized to nickle and dime you for everything possible. What seems lower cost initially is a loss in the end. The bills keep coming for things they have found. When I returned the car they looked inside the trunk spare tire compartment to try to find something. No rental car company does this. trust me its not worth the headache that i have been dealing with

I arrived at LHR after an overnight flight, wanting to get in a car and go. It wasn’t as easy as that. I had missed a shuttle and so had to wait an hour, I had several bags so I elected to get a cab over. This cost me A LOT of money - yes I was probably scammed. The person at the counter was very good, it just took a long time. The car was wonderful, and as I spent most of the experience with the car, that was excellent. The way the little office is set up with the front area being for bookings and the back area being for pick up the car, meant that I had to drag all my luggage with me to the car about 1/2 mile and then on the way back, same thing but with more luggage! That was just not fun. The shuttle to LHR was 1/2 late and there was nowhere to sit and wait in comfort. It was also late per the Hoppa Timetable. Bottom line, though I had an okay experience, I probably wouldn’t use Green Motion again.

I upgraded to green motions full insurance, they didn't recognize the one I got on the site and wanted to put a huge hold on my credit card. Once I got their own insurance everything became easy, fixed miles went away, reasonable holds. This might not be green motion's fault it could be Kayak working with too many vendors

A huge 2.5k quid deposit. No shuttle. Never turned up either way so that was an extra 50 quid in taxis. Wouldn’t let me cancel when I heard about the deposit. I would strongly suggest you use a different company. At the drop off zone where the office was closed at 6am, the people who worked at the hotel for asylum seekers next door said that absolutely everyone that they meet waiting for the shuttle that never arrives complains. Everyone. After a long flight, dealing with that is the last thing you need.

I had to get car insurance since we were from out of the country and the sales pitch was a hard sell and very expensive. Ended up bundling the insurance with an upgrade, unlimited mileage and a Navigation system which lessened the pain but overall it was an expensive rental. Distance between car pick up /drop off and the bus pick up was excessive. If you have mobility issues this maybe a concern. The car was almost new and we had zero issues with it.

When picking the vehicle up there was a lot of pressure to pay for extra insurance. Perhaps they should make people aware of this at the time of booking. This was necessary as I demonstrated I had the excess covered. This did not stop them scrutinizing my documents. Returning the vehicle was trouble free. The guy who checked the vehicle back in was called Mark and he couldn’t have been more helpful. Thank you Mark. Not sure why it takes up to 14 days to refund the somewhat excessive deposit of GBP 2,500! Green motion where quick to take the money but it seems not too keen to give it back!

I couldn't get a hold of the company before traveling to make amendments to the booking. I called Kayak and tried to call Ace and the name of the company was something else entirely. Kayak said to visit their kiosk when I got to Heathrow, there was no kiosk at Heathrow. No phone number would connect me to a human and in the end I showed up to pick up the time I wanted to change it to and they were very accommodating. Shame about the runabout in the lead up.

They didn't accept the insurance on my credit card so the car cost a lot more than I had planned for. The car they gave me had worn through the brake pads and you could hear the rotors rubbing when you braked. I was staying 200 miles away from the rental place so was hard to bring the car back for a replacement. I am upset that they provided me with a car, that I drove my children around in, that was not fit for purpose. To add to this the person at the desk when I returned the car was not polite, barely talked and was not too apologetic about the state of the vehicle. Will never use again or recommend to anyone!

The drop off was fast.I had a reservation for a car which the sales staff completely ignored to start a new transaction. They proceeded to ignore pricing to push their insurance plan, and basically wouldn't let you leave until you had purchased it. I literally told them what I thought they were doing was a scam.

There is not a normal car shuttle and the Hopper would not take me to pick up car....you have to 6lb for Hopper. The rental place is impossible to find because it’s not called Ace.

Staff were not friendly nor helpful there was no shuttle from the airport for rental pu. We had to pay for a hotel bus to drop us off .The whole set up could be better. Ace could do with revamping their entire system.

I booked in good faith with Alamo at the London Heathrow airport depot via Kayak, actually made a costly and far too lengthy (waiting on hold to get an agent and representative) telephone call from Canada to Alamo in the UK after the reservation was made and accepted by Alamo, and went over the details regarding my age and the reservation, and was assured there would be no problem with my being 71 years of age as the primary driver and my wife at 70 being the secondary on the rental, both of us with international drivers licenses, because, according to two reps contacted, Alamo had no restrictions on age other than a minimum age. However, when I needed to made a change to the pick up and drop off times for our month long car rental, I was advised that the reservation was not accepted because of my age. When I tried to contact Alamo customer service I was told it was not their department and to try a series of telephone numbers that got me nowhere. Even when I tried to advise Alamo that I wanted the non-existent reservation cancelled, just in case they tried to pull some stunt, I was unable to do that after numerous attempts and telephone calls. To make matters worse, it was so close to our departure date that we were unable to get a reservation at another rental agency for the vehicle required to accommodate my height. In the end I had to settle for a small vehicle that caused me extreme neck pain and resulted in contacting an elite rental company to provide a suitable vehicle at a price I should never have had to pay if Alamo had been upfront and cooperative in the first place. Interestingly, I just returned from a two week trip where I booked through another rental company and had absolutely no issues whatsoever. I feel Alamo has a lot to learn about customer service and business protocol. They not only cost me a lot of money and time, but a great deal of frustration and physical pain. Which, undoubtedly, they could care less about.

Pick and drop off were very easy and car was in excellent condition. At pick up they tried to convince me that my insurance wasn’t good enough since it was not purchased through Alamo, even though it was full coverage.

I normally dread renting a car at Heathrow but this was a really good experience. The staff met me off the bus so no waiting at all. It was raining so the staff brought my car to the covered area for me to load up. I was checked out and ready to go within a few minutes. The car was clean and comfortable. On returning the car, the staff immediately checked me back in and arranged for the shuttle bus to take me to the airport, even though I was the only person on it. Great service all round.

Quick and EfficientI received an upgraded vehicle. The staff were very pleasant.I booked through CarTrawler who themselves wherever good. The only probably with booking through an agency is that it is very difficult if not impossible. The upside is that the rates are very good.

In comparison to EuropcarCustomer service was excellent at Alamo, having rented from Europcar twice and on each occasion experienced a truly awful customer experience this was a pleasant surprise. I will never rent from Europcar again, Alamo has my business

We waited forever for a shuttle bus and when it turned up, it had room for 2 people. There were about 8 people in front of us and 7 in our party with 3 little kids. We'd just got off an 8hr overnight flight and the kids were cranky. The party in front of us let us go before them on the 3rd shuttle to show up, but that could only fit 3 people. It took forever to get our whole group to the actual Avis location, over several shuttle busses. The desk was really busy and my pre-booking took forever to process. Not the slickest operation, but the car was new & clean and ready for us. Price was ok, vehicle great, process poor.

I will never use Avis again - ever. In Jan 2019 I booked a car for pick up at LHR Dec 16, making the mistake that my flight out of SFO was actually getting into LHR Dec 17. Had I picked up the car Dec 16, I would have been paying $460 for my rental period. With zero flexibility they wanted me to now pay £2000 for the same rental package (1 day less in fact). After a long haul flight with 4 biggish bags - which the Avis shuttle driver gave no help with - I had to go back to T2 and get a car from National for £600. Same size as my original Avis booking, help with baggage into and off of bus and even into my car! Enterprise rocks. Avis sucks big time.

I made the mistake of not bringing my passport to the rental counter. Although not explicitly stated anywhere in the terms and conditions, a passport for foreign tourists is required to rent a car from Avis Heathrow. A driver's license is not sufficient documentation.

The staff seemed nice, but didn't inform you of extra things (like paying extra for wifi or navigation which are standard in all cars now). Also signage to get to location is HORRIBLE in the airport + no employees of the airport really know how to tell you to get there.

I booked online and the auto booking had me pick up at T5 as it was my flight out. But I landed at T3 and didn’t realize. T3 Avis staff excellent sorting it out.Is it me or is there a clear deliberate check in pick up and drop off location? Small point.

DisapointedCar was clean inside.Night time flight tried to reduce the hassle of insurance early in the a.m. Made reservation on line with car rentals .com for a Hyundai -I 30 at he same time I purchased the collision damage coverage. This was through Allianz insurance. At check in at Avis they would not accept this insurance, they allowed me to call Allianz in the US their rep was helpful and was sorry the insurance was not accepted, a refund was offered and accepted. Bottom line I wound up paying about $ 100 more for this rental. And the car supplied was smaller than the model I requested.

I was inadvertently upsold to a more expensive rental than I had reserved on line. The end price was almost twice as much. I will need to strategize how to avoid that in the future if I look at renting from Avis again.

Take too long for serving customers at check in and check out. The airport pick up point information is not accurate. All customers were getting irritated with waiting time. I think its not staff issue, but seems like company policy might be too strict on staff on any mistakes. Will avoid in future

These are bait and switch bandits, avoid like theI booked a car online for 13 pounds a day for 10 days. On arrival I was told I would have to pay an additional 13.25 per day basic insurance. As it was nearly midnight I told them I would take the car for 1 day. When I returned the car I heard them doing the same con on another customer. I rented a better car for less at Europecar just down the road.

I was unable to contact the rental company on my arrival to Heathrow. All phone numbers provided to me were not answered. I had to cancel reservation and book a new rental at the airport. Worst car rental experience ever

They never answered the 15+ calls we made for the shuttle to come get us from the airport. We had to cancel it, then pay money for an Uber and couldn’t rent a car the whole time we were there. It was a joke.
