Cons: Everything was perfect, except for the price. We did think it was quite expensive for what we received. Sure it was a lovely hotel, but we've stayed in nicer for cheaper, with a better view even. However, it was booked last minute so may have been cheaper if booked sooner.

Pros: The location of the hotel was perfect for sightseeing and shopping in Dublin. With easy access to buses, the Luas (tram) and for connections to nearby train stations. The staff in the hotel were friendly and very helpful. The room we booked was much bigger than expected and the beds were extremely comfortable. And the bathroom was light and spacious and very clean. Our room included breakfast, which we enjoyed during our stay. It was delicious and varied - cereal, pastries, fruit, and full Irish breakfast. I will definitely stay at The Gresham again and will recommend to friends and family, visiting Dublin.

Pros: The location of the hotel was perfect for sightseeing and shopping in Dublin. With easy access to buses, the Luas (tram) and for connections to nearby train stations. The staff in the hotel were friendly and very helpful. The room we booked was much bigger than expected and the beds were extremely comfortable. And the bathroom was light and spacious and very clean. Our room included breakfast, which we enjoyed during our stay. It was delicious and varied - cereal, pastries, fruit, and full Irish breakfast. I will definitely stay at The Gresham again and will recommend to friends and family, visiting Dublin.
Cons: Our room (114) was located opposite the hotel's gym, and we were woken each morning by the noise of people using the running machines - the thumping travelled through the floor! I think a hotel of this size and prestige would benefit from a pool.

Cons: we booked a deluxe double room and paid £400 for 2 nights room only and the room we were given i wouldn't have stayed in for half the price, it was shockingly small, had a double bed and a single bed at the end of it that you had to climb over to get to the other side of the double, it was horrendous. we were moved to another room which was much better but no where near the standard i expected. I would have put it at a decent standard room, no where near a deluxe room. It was super noisy at night but you do expect that and the complimentary ear plugs came in very handy so that was fine but still very disappointed in the room.

There is building site next door and they start work at 7.30am so we were woken up with loud drilling - guests need to be warned of this.

Cons: -Early check-in was not available which caused some issues and inconvenience -I had another colleague taking over my room for the last night of our booking (when I went home) and they assured me that the room would be cleaned between our stays. I put a label on the door to clean the room that morning and made a point to tell reception staff when I left, as they had requested that I do, when the switch of guest was happening, but the room was still dirty and not cleaned when he arrived later that evening and he had to notify housekeeping. -Obtaining a receipt from the venue has been ridiculously complicated and took hours and 4 (yes actually 4) phonecalls to email a document to me! I had to call the venue 4 times and 1 more call to booking.com (after incorrect advice from the venue) before I finally received my receipt which was for a pre-paid room!!! The venue firstly assured me that it would be emailed imminently, then on tehnext call said booking.com would need to issue it, then on the third call said they would send it to me again (but didnt take down my email address correctly) and then finally sent it. I have experienced this with Jury's Inn Liverpool too in the past, so you need to educate your staff about booking.com bookings and that JURY'S need to provide receipts after stays not booking.com.

Further there was no information that lockers needed locks and we had to buy one for 6.50. it would have been good to get that information beforehand on the page. Beds were okay, but the rooms way to small for 4 people and no possibility to actually be in the rooms, if you didn't want to sleep. Only in the loud common area. Honestly disappointing for the price we paid.

Cons: Upon arrival, the staff was more concerned with being cool than with being courteous. Morning staff was much better. What rubbed me the wrong way about this place is that they fail to provide any kind of secure storage for even the smallest of items. There are lock boxes under the beds, but require you bring your own padlock or pay a ridiculous amount of money to use the luggage storage in the basement. Plan ahead or snuggle your valuables. Also, no outside food is allowed. Strange for a hostel. The reason given is that plenty of food is available on site for purchase. Most things on the menu were expensive for a backpacker. The restaurants and supermarket across the way are the best options. Also, the provided shower gel dispenser is always empty and make sure you double check the toilet paper before you sit down. This place clearly has its eye on being trendy to attract the young, party crowd. It’s nothing similar to what backpackers are used to from every other hostel on the planet and fails to provide the community experience and chance to meet new people that solo travelers look for. Considering the price isn’t even on the lower end, there are better places in Dublin.

Cons: This has been one of the worst stays in my travelling life. I could not sleep at all and I mean that. I have travelled 40+ countries and stayed in some 100+ hostels, this was definitely the loudest place. It feels like the place has millions of doors that are impossible to close quietly even if you try and you hear the doors from the floors above and below you as well. Even with earplugs AND music on earphones (not kidding!) I could still hear the doors banging. In my opinion this simply isn't a place to stay unless you are someone who can sleep through any kind of noise or do not plan on sleeping anyway. In addition the place is not really clean, it's not dirty either, but somewhere in between. For example the sauna had dust under the seats and things like that. After not having slept the entire night I went to check out. I told the guy at the reception that I couldn't sleep at all and he did not seem to care or ask why. He only got agitated, when I told him that I didn't want to stay anymore and questioned whether I had really not slept (trust me, one could see that). He then lied to me saying he could not cancel the second night due to booking.coms policy (this is not true, the hostel could have cancelled and that is totally up to them - I told him twice, he denied). He then proceeded to check me in for my second night despite knowing that I didn't wish to stay. I didn't realise at the time what he was doing. While checking me in, he ripped my passport in half - ripped the plastic card out of it!!! - and then gave me the passport back closed, so I only noticed what he had done until I checked in the next hotel ten minutes later. I had him void the check-in and booking has refunded me the second night. However, I also had to get a new passport for some 100 Euros because my passport was void after what the guy had done. I have truly never experienced something like that.

Cons: Close to city center, BUT hostel is next to train bridge and it is very noisy when the train passes.. you will hear and FEEL it! Not ideal for a stay longer than couple of days.

Cons: Bathrooms had a weird smell although they were clean. The window rooms are not double glass so you can hear the noise of the passing trains in the tracks just by the hostel all night long and if you stay in the lower floors the street can be kinda noisy as well. The bedroom matress was super stiff and I think my bed (lower bunk bed) had a broken structure because the mattress sunk in the middle. The locker room on the basement has the most shady look I've ever seen in a hostel and although nothing was stolen from us, we were scared it might be just from the look of it, also the locker being see through did not help us feel safer about it of course. Breakfast even for a hostel was poor. Although not a hostel thing I also had the unpleasent experience of having a really unclean person in my room which did not help at all.

We purchased a return ticket for the tram which was a few blocks away to get into Dublin City which dropped us off just outside Trinity College to see The Book of the Kells and the wonderful libary. Please note that there is only one toilet in Trinity College and that is situated in the cafe downstairs opposite the entrance for the Book of the Kells.

Also, I got no response to the two messages I sent via booking.com regarding the possibility of an early check-in. The shower squealed when turned on full volume and needs renovating/updating. Breakfast should be included in the price of the room.

Cons: Had to wait one hour for a shower to become available and it was freezing. Stairs very dirty. Paint chipped lino floor in room stained. I paid 96 euro for a room which was fine but had to go back to reception for a towel for 2 euro.

Cons: I got a room for 4 people. And the room was really really small, we could only stay one person standing at a time. There were no lockers in the bedroom, which normally are in hostels. The toilets were not too bad, but there were only few of them.

Cons: This place was disgusting! The room was dirty, the bathroom smelled moldy and the carpet was so nasty, we were afraid to walk on it without shoes. Additionally, we almost got stuck in the lift because it was broken, but no one bothered to put up a sign! We were there for 3 days, and it was broken the entire time we stayed there. We never saw any maintenance people even attempting to repair it. This place was not family friendly as indicated!!
