Pros: Fabulous hosts - what an amazing couple who couldn't do enough for you. Wonderful breakfast - I think that was the nicest scrambled egg I have ever had when having breakfast away from home. Great views. Really great for dogs.
Cons: The room we stayed in had two beds but one (single) was so hard that the next morning I had very sore hip (I sleep on my side). This was just a small grumble though and I am sure it is down to personal opinion as I know some people love a harder bed.

Pros: If you are looking for a weekend of luxury with a team of fabulous staff this is the place to come. The hotel ticks every box in regards to service, cleanliness as well as those additional personal touches that are so rare these days. We couldn't fault our 3 day stay
Cons: The only thing we didn't enjoy was the one thing out of the hotel's control... the weather. It rained for 2 solid days but even then the hotel was able to provide umbrellas to shuttle us around and had the fire roaring when we got in.

Pros: 4th visit, its relaxing the staff are great and food is excellent
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The staff ! Absolutely delightful. Friendly and helpful. Particularly Samantha who gave us advice and maps on walking routes in the area all from her personal experience. Also a lovely room with superb stylish bathroom
Cons: Hard to fault except Perhaps the ambience in the lounge could have been improved with a little more warmth and the fire stoked up all the time. Also, the Coach House Restaurant heating needs improving. When we had dinner there I was freezing all evening although admittedly we were there in a cold snap.

Overview Reviews
Located in Barnstaple, Broomhill Art Hotel is a 5-minute drive from Marwood Hill Gardens and 5 minutes from Pannier Market.
9,0 Excellent
Pros: The bedroom was roomy, bed very comfortable. The food, evening meal and cooked breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Ashley and the lady who served breakfast. Would certainly return.
Cons: The water pressure for the shower could have been better...but appreciate maybe it was because of the location. It wasn't a problem .
6,0 Good
Pros: Amazing atmospheric location, exquisite food (better for meat eaters than vegetarians) and as you would expect exemplary decor. I loved the aspect of the room with the view to sculpture gardens. Friendly staff. Hospitable.
Cons: I’m really sorry but the bathroom was the size of a cloakroom and the big bug bear was a shower with very little power and lukewarm water (night and morning). The water barely trickled out which for a boutique designer hotel is not acceptable. Rule of thumb if the shower is worse than my already miserable shower at home there’s grave concerns.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Nothing was too much trouble and the food was exceptional!
8,0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic food in restaurant. Bonus is free entry to sculpture park with rushing river and trees turning autumnal. Very relaxing
Cons: Sink could have been bigger. Hard to get kettle under tap!
8,0 Excellent

Cons: The weather, it rained cats & dogs for both visits!
10,0 Excellent

Cons: WE THOUGHT THE ROOM WE HAD WAS OVER HEATED AND QUITE NOISY AS IT BACKED ON TO THE SERVICE ROAD TO THE HOTEL----SO ON ANOTHER VISIT WE WOULD REQUEST A ROOM AT THE FRONT OF THE HOTEL. Pros: Lovely comfortable bed and facilities in the room
Cons: Damp on the wall but they are addressing that. Ordered lunch on the first day ... 45 mins later after we enquired we were told order hadn’t gone through.... computer error. Too late in the day by then for lunch so ordered afternoon tea instead. Felt it could have been handled better as apology took along time to come and believe they should have given us complimentary afternoon tea as it was a poor start to our stay.

9,2 Excellent
Pros: The decor in communal Areas, friendly helpful staff, lovely comfortable massive double bed, lovely en suite with a powerful easy to adjust shower. Although not used, the indoor and outdoor pool and other facilities look fantastic. We have family who have just moved into nearby Braunton so this hotel will be first choice when we return in the spring
Cons: Although only on two floors, could do with a lift for checking in/out carrying luggage
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Spotlessly clean in both accommodation and spa area. Really appreciated that my grand children could take advantage of the facilities at no charge even though they were not resident.
Cons: I realise it's pedantic but the bed was a little too soft for my liking.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here the night before my wedding with my sister. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Even though the di ng room wasnt available til just after 12, they allowed me to pop in wedding favours early in the morning and they set up the balloons for me. Bedroom was very clean, tidy and warm. Shower was hot and powerful. Even though I only live 20mins away, I would stay here again when attending their xmas parties. Food is always lovely here.
7,1 Good
Pros: Good location for visiting Barnstaple, nice pool
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very nice, breakfast was very god with a good range of food, staff were very attentive. It was good value for money and we would stay again if it suited our needs at the time ..
Cons: There was no coat hooks inside the room, which was a bit odd, obviously you could hang your coat up inside the wardrobe, but you wouldn't do that if your coat was wet(this is the UK and it rains a lot). This is no big deal overall but it's always the little things that can make the difference..

Pros: The hotel was superb, very smart decor, very comfortable room and the staff were all very pleasant and efficient. All meals at breakfast and evening were excellent. All in all a lovely stay.
Cons: Nothing, a good location for our needs, but Barnstaple has a very confusing road layout for drivers, the town has everything but not really attractive.
1,0 Poor
Pros: Not much
Cons: The room was not as advertised. It had a strong smell of damp. The bed was like sleeping on a balloon. The room was situated outside where we could hear the Christmas party music well into the night. Not something we were forewarned about.

6,0 Good
Pros: The beverage boxes were a nice touch.
Cons: The beds were too short, my partner is over 6ft and I’m 5’5 and I was still too tall. Was not very comfy at all. Also the back of the tv remote was missing which made it difficult to get the signal between the remote and the tv.

9,6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely setting.Clean, quiet and comfortable room. Friendly staff and free parking.
8,0 Excellent
Pros: The food was as good and the staff helpful
Cons: The restaurant was cold radiators not working. WiFi iffy Bedroom very hot the bathroom was only warm.
7,9 Good
Pros: The staff were good and the room was clean and very comfortable.
Cons: We experience issues with our evening meal and was at one point waiting for over an hour for food, unfortunately as we did not want to wait any further, or eat to late, we gave up in the end. However, the Cedars was very busy and although it was a bit disappointing it did not spoil our overall stay. The all important question is whether we would stay there again ?. Well all in all the room was good, albeit a very short walk to the back of the Cedars, the staff were very good, the room was clean and very comfortable so l guess the answer is yes we would.
8,3 Excellent
Pros: Reception staff very helpful. Bed extremely comfortable. Breakfast very good and nice to see good quality products being supplied. Evening meal, which was charged separately, was really good value for money. Tea and coffee supplies in the room were generous and biscuits delicious, and again good quality. Yes I will be going back again.
Cons: We were given a downstairs room initially, but after a couple of hours listening to the people above walking about in what sounded like hob nailed boots on a wooden floor, we asked to be moved. We were given another room, upstairs this time, which was far nicer, fresher and lighter. The first room was incredibly gloomy and even with all the lights on, it had a very depressing feel to it, plus it smelt peculiar. The whole place needs a coat of paint, a stiff broom outside and a tidying up of the gardens. It could look really nice.
7,0 Good
Pros: The room was spacious and cosy, and the breakfast was very tasty
Cons: A long wait to check in

Pros: Very welcoming hosts who provided us with an excellent breakfast. We also liked the location which was within easy reach of all the places of interest that we wanted to visit. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and have every intention of staying there again.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike everything met our expectations.

Cons: Nothing
8,8 Excellent
Pros: Tranquil setting. Very clean and well equipped apartment with small extra, and thoughtful touches. Lovely shower room with power shower and plenty of hot water. Comfortable bed. Friendly, welcoming and helpful hosts.
Cons: The property is old and has the charm of a bygone era, but in my view needs some updating for today's market. The kitchenette area of the two bedroom apartment, in particular needs to be remodelled as it was a challenge to use and would benefit from an open plan approach. I wonder whether the owners have plans and it is a work in progress. My comments are meant to be constructive and not critical.
