Excellent 10,0
Pros: The owners have thought of everything - there is every comfort and amenity in the room - lovely room and bathroom - large comfortable bed, cozy couch, tea, coffee, biscuits The breakfast was delicious and the owners very friendly and helpful Great location for exploring Dartmoor
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Absolutely everything!!! By far the best place we have ever stayed! B&B is immaculately clean, literally spotless, the decor is very modern and well put together. Covid 19 measures are in place to make you feel safe during your stay. We stayed on the top floor, the room and en suite were both really spacious. What we liked about the room is the attentional to detail. The fridge had a bottle of water and fresh milk, dressing gowns for use during your stay, the bathroom had vanity and sewing kits etc, endless choices of teas/coffees/biscuits available and also the little welcome book which contained everything you need to know including recommendations for local and further a field restaurants/pubs. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was lovely to have a big tv with Netflix!!! Breakfast again followed suite, the selection available was great, we were also offered fresh fruit and yog or cereal before our choice which was lovely. Cooked breakfast itself was perfection. Location of the b&b is perfect for exploring Dartmoor so would highly recommend and also free on site parking is great. And finally the hosts themselves were also really lovely, hospitality was on point!! Very welcoming and made you feel at ease from the off. Would 100% recommend!
Cons: Literally nothing not to like!!!
Excellent 10,0

Pros: Angela and Steve made us feel so welcome and couldn't do enough for us. Very clean accommodation with lots of character.
Cons: NA
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Lovely B&B in a good location, only 9 miles to Plymouth. Under difficult times (covid) Steve and Angela made us very welcome and we’re friendly. Breakfast was good and the cleanliness was excellent throughout the property. The garden bedroom (ground floor)was a good size en-suite with the added bonus of french doors leading out onto a private patio with table and chairs. Would highly recommend and will return.
Cons: Nothing.

Good 6,0
Pros: The location was very good and I would say the room was good. However, there are a couple of things that I would suggest for the management to change, one, the shower was terrible and not enough power and too ages to heat. Two, there should be a fridge in the room, especially on a hot day to store your water as the room does get hot and one cannot adjust the heating which comes on at weird times. The guest should be able to adjust the heating/temperature in the room. Either than these two things it was generally 3*.
Cons: The shower, no fridge in the room and the temperature could not be adjusted.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Nice little hotel very close to the sea! Comfortable and quiet room, well equipped with tea and biscuits in the room. Breakfast was not available due to COVID restrictions
Cons: Nothing - parking available onsite depending on availability for £5. We booked very last minute a king room but once arrived this was not available, probably because the system hadn't been updated. The lady accommodated us into a standard double bedroom offering the parking permit in exchange for the difference in price
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Very clean and comfortable, and the host was very accommodating with our late arrival. Breakfast was excellent too
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Very helpful staff with great recommendations. Everything was very clean and following covid procedures well. We felt very safe.
Cons: The shower pressure was very weak. We had to choose between an okay pressure but the temperature forever going between boiling hot or freezing cold or low pressure and a good temperature.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: A lovely hotel, 10 min away from Plymouth centre - a walkable distance from restaurants and bars but quiet enough to enjoy a good night sleep. Hotel manager Carla was very helpful giving us advice on local restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying there!
Cons: Location, comfortable bed, facilities

Pros: The staff make this an enjoyable stay from the receptionist to Rachel whom takes care of anything you can think of. Breakfast is superb makes you want seconds. Location close to the seafront where there are plenty of places to eat. The breakfast team are polite friendly. Well done to the owners, your in safe hands
Cons: Not applicable, really you can't expect more for the cost, they exceeded my expectations.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Louise was welcoming and very helpful. Location is perfect and storage for bikes provided. Breakfast was great but maybe a little bit more on the plate, I couldn't get enough. Shower was powerful and nice size bathroom Perfect for coast to coast cycling
Cons: Couple of maintenance issues in the room, main light flickering but stops after a while. No plug sockets that I could find near the bed. Plug adaptor near the table shown signs of burn out with some of the sockets not working.

Good 6,0
Pros: The property itself was beautiful. Staff very friendly. Good room sizes. Decent spa.
Cons: We paid £300/night. Whilst this is a 5* Hotel, I felt it was overpriced for what it was worth. The breakfast was a huge disappointment. We were served burnt beans and the food lacked in quality. I don’t usually complain but as we paid a decent amount for one night, I expected a very good breakfast.
Good 6,0
Pros: The welcome was very good and an explanation of everything available was very good. Receptionist was very polite. I was slightly annoyed as I had booked a Double next door to a Twin Room but this message hadn't got through when we checked in. Fortunately we were early enough for them to swop something around. The Spa was lovely and all staff up there were very good. Breakfast was great and nice to be able to use the Spa in the morning and have a late breakfast. (11am) Bar staff were very polite and attentive. We had Dinner in the Acleaf Restaurant. We were given a glass of bubbles on arrival. 2 of our party had the Wine Pairing which was excellent and we really enjoyed the experience.
Cons: We had Dinner in the Acleaf Restaurant. Unfortunately this didn't live up to expectations. The room is quite bare and didn't have much atmosphere. We had a table right under a speaker so the music was irritating on occasions. The choice for Gluten free was limited and considering we had made a visit 2 weeks earlier to check out whether this would be a problem we were assured that it would not. The gluten free rolls were very good though. The Head Waiter, Vlad was excellent and really knows his food/wines. Unfortunately the explanations given by one of the young waitresses we couldn't understand, partly because of the need for a face mask. It might be an idea whilst face masks are obligatory that a typed out explanation is given for each course, as it looks like the same menu is used for a few months. Some of the areas of the hotel look a bit tired and in need of some decoration ... not something I would expect from a 5 Star Hotel.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Loved everything!
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9,0
Pros: The place is very quiet with the beautiful castle. Spa facilities are very nice (several rooms for sauna and hammam, indoor swimming pool ...) We had treatment that were very good as well. Breakfast is very good as well, do not skip it :)
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Excellent choice of breakfast.. When I asked for 2 items on the traditional fry up to be removed they could have asked if I would have liked an extra egg or more bacon so a bit stingy there. Gaia spa excellent.. refreshing and unlimited access.. I’ve never felt so soft!
Cons: I did not think much of the saffron fish pie which was delivered cold in the middle! Although we were given complimentary glass of wine to compensate I thought they should have done better when costing £40 for two courses in a 5star hotel... vegetables classed as extras but should have been part of the meal. If room service and fridge items were more reasonable more would have been sold! Sorry to say that the local pub in Sparkwell, Treby Arms had a much better menu, food delicious, half the price!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Beautiful views and lovely staff!
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Lovely setting, hotel was immaculate and clean, staff couldn’t have been more friendly
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Loved everything. The character, the restoration efforts of the owners, the professionalism and attentiveness of the staff… and the spa is just great! So clean as well.
Cons: Nothing! Will be back soon :)

Excellent 9,0
Pros: The Entrance to the Hotel was inviting and the Staff attentive. The Room (Palmer) was well aired, clean and fresh and well appointed. The Breakfast was substantial and tasty, we both enjoyed our meal. Overall we enjoyed our Stay!
Cons: There was a vibration on the floor, when we walked into the Room, after some investigation we found that we were right above the Kitchen and the Fans or extractor were on once; the evening meal was over the vibration stopped. The walk in Shower was good but the drainage was poor, water ran from the Shower towards the main Bedroom door and we had to take action to mop up the water to prevent it damaging the Bedroom Carpet?
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Rooms are so comfortable, food is excellent and the staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful
Cons: Nothing to not like
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Very nice place
Good 7,0
Pros: Breakfast was great, and the setting is amazing
Cons: The room was a bit jaded and very hot. Service was a bit patchy during both dinner and whilst having drinks outside beforehand
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Old world charm and very relaxing. Beautiful suite and exceptionally comfortable bed. The evening meal was excellent and food and drink prices very very reasonable.
Cons: The quality of the breakfast was disappointing- suspect different chef from the prior evening.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Exceptional food, beautiful gardens, friendly staff
Cons: It was our Golden wedding anniversary and a table by the window or floral display/ anniversary confetti on the table would have made it special
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Wonderful bar area, great did, lovely staff.
Cons: The bed was far too soft. Reception needs a renovation

Excellent 8,0
Pros: Hosts were very friendly.
Cons: Front door difficult to open.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Made welcome as soon as I arrived and Rod (the Host) was most helpful and provided good information on the Room etc.
Cons: Parking in the area can be a challenge, although a Parking permit from the Accommodation can be arranged for a fee in advance if space is available or nearby Street Parking is £2.00 over night from 6:30pm to 8am.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Great location, very comfortable and clean accommodation. Close to restaurants and bars by walking distance. Great hosts.

Excellent 8,0
Pros: Excellent location
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Dinner was fantastic. Staff were so welcoming and really added to our enjoyment.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Fantastic location with a brilliant view from the window! Loved that the wildlife can literally walk into the car park. The kids absolutely loved seeing the horses. The TV was good as were the coffee making facilities.
Cons: The toilet needed repair on the first night but this was fixed. I didn't like having to give me debit card details even though I already paid. This is not a particularly well decorated hotel and shows its age but still good value if you are not looking for perfection. The blinds were fun but no good at stopping the light...that said, are kids wake up early anyway. It was up two flights of stairs with no lift.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: excellent evening meals
Excellent 9,0
Pros: The room we had was a suite and the views were amazing. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. Was well worth the money. The staff were helpful and really friendly. Will stay there again when back in Plymouth.
Cons: The bar area was a little dated, but didn’t put us off spending an evening in there. The noise from all the room doors closing was quite loud and would disturb a light sleeper
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Nice older style hotel in great location for walking or outdoor activities. Great food in the restaurant. Comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: We visited when the weather was extremely poor with high winds and rain. There was a bit of a draught around the window and the noise of things being blown around outside woke us up from time to time , but the wind was extreme and it was not the fault of the hotel.
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Exceptionally clean, great staff.
Cons: N/a

Okay 5,8
Pros: Clean
Cons: It says on booking. com good breakfast included in the room rate but we had a bag with a few bits in and a bacon roll… wouldn’t take it off the bill
Good 6,0
Pros: Breakfast was amazing, I highly appreciate the food quality. The bed was reasonably comfortable and the overall cleanliness level was perfect.
Cons: The staff and in general the way how the hotel is managed looked to be really disorganized, I was receiving a different pieces of information during the stay, and in the end I had to chase the hotel for a week for a final invoice sent to my e-mail. The most of the time, I really don't get the welcoming feeling there.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Room great
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 9,0
Pros: The size of the room was very nice. Also the bathroom had a great shower in which was nice and powerful.
Cons: It was a little steep in terms of pricing for a night but not too much.
Excellent 10,0
Pros: No cooked breakfast due to covid
Cons: Nothing all good
Excellent 10,0
Excellent 8,1
Excellent 9,2
Good 7,1
Pros: Room was clean
Cons: Parking was in a local car park and and extra cost of £8 No breakfast included made it too expensive It was a business stay for my self and my son so none of the options of traveller apply
Good 6,2
Pros: location
Cons: That Kayak charged me one third as much again for the booking. The rack rate was MUCH cheaper. Parking is not easy and expensive if you use nearby underground garage.

Mediocre 3,0
Pros: Just the bed
Cons: Night reception guy was unfriendly he seemed to think that he was doing us a favour for us to stay at this hotel. They messed up our breakfast booking and the hotel staff were just dismissive of guests and didn't show much interest in our needs.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Beds was very comfortable in my twin room, I did get a great sleep. Staff in the Fishbone restaurant extremely welcoming and the service was lovely!!!
Cons: Not many shops or restaurant within walking distance. Sofa bed in suite, not for sleeping. My legs were higher than my head :)) swapped for twin room and enjoyed my sleep.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: We stayed three nights at this hotel, the room was spacious and clean, however the breakfast was not that great, there were few choices and no cheese was included in continental breakfast. We had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, a limited menu and they were run out of some of the meals. The food was average but over priced.
Good 7,0
Pros: Staff were excellent especially Emma from Reception team. Room was good, but toilet flush had a issue. English Breakfast was not good.
Cons: Toilet Flush had a issue #329
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Clean and nice. People were friendly. Parking is enormous.
Cons: Due to COVID, there are rules in place which we disliked .
Excellent 9,0
Pros: Good location with amble parking facility. Local amenities are very close.
Cons: NHS blood test centre operates in the ground floor, but do not interfere with guest passages.

Good 7,0
Pros: Lovely location with onsite golf course. Very peaceful and quiet. Nice old building. Rooms with high ceilings, nicely furnished. Good breakfast. Good response when I raised some issues.
Cons: Shower tray didn't drain properly, and it was not fixed in the three days that I was there. Bathroom had a slight mouldy smell. Restaurant menu a bit limited. I had the steak one night and it was tough and disappointing.
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The room was very comfortable and had a view overlooking the golf course so was quiet. We only stayed for one night before a wedding, we liked that there was already an iron and board in the room and didn't have to be requested. Good size bathroom, lovely shower. Friendly staff upon check in. We made use of the pool which was good.
Cons: Staff only remembering to ask if we would like toast once we'd already received the rest of our breakfast (so were already half way through eating it when it arrived) - only a small niggle!
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Everything was great, the staff, delux double bedroom and golf course. Only praises no complaints.
Good 7,0
Pros: Rooms were airy and clean
Cons: Could have been a bit cleaner, swimming pool needed cleaning around the edges , green slime on the sides
Excellent 8,0
Pros: Nice pool, decent food
Cons: More staff needed for dinner service
Excellent 10,0
Pros: Whole facility

Excellent 8,0
Pros: Clean tidy and reasonably priced
Cons: Unfortunately parking not great
Okay 5,0
Pros: Staff were nice enough, Location was ok pretty central, rooms very basic and very overpriced for how dated it is, bed was pretty comfy, food wasn’t great and breakfast wasn’t either, would I stay again? Probably if there wasn’t much choice elsewhere
Good 7,0
Pros: In the covid situations staff performed well & friendly
Cons: Found it difficult to get to even with satnav
Excellent 10,0

Excellent 9,7
Pros: Location, it was very good value for money, we managed to park in the underground car park which was good. The hotel is currently undergoing renovation, but that didn’t have any effect on our stay. Would definitely stay there again
Cons: The rooms were a bit dated, especially the bathrooms, but they were spotlessly clean
Excellent 9,4
Pros: Great interior design, nice touches in the room and bath, nicely sized room, great restaurant. Overall really enjoyed my stay.
Cons: Shower took quite a while to warm up. Exterior could do with some updating.

Good 6,0
Pros: the bar and friendly staff
Cons: the room looked old and tried
Excellent 8,0
Pros: The location was easy to get to. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful The food and drinks were very good with an excellent selection
Cons: When I got to my room it looked as though it had already been slept in, in the morning the shower had hair all over the tiles when I went for a shower. Explained to the cleaner in the morning who apologised and sorted out the problem
Okay 4,0
Pros: Breakfast was alright, the rooms were ok and staff seemed friendly enough. I had issues with the TV in the first room I was placed in but was kindly moved to another room. The communal areas (reception/restaurant) were very nice and modern with character.
Cons: It was a shame that the modernity of the communal area wasn't reflected in the rooms as they seemed a bit run down and sadly, not the cleanest with dust throughout and hair from different body parts to be found in the bathroom. The TV remote was extremely dirty to a point I had to use a tissue to use it and when I saw cleaners after my first night, I had to ask one of them to please clean it for me.
Good 7,0
Pros: Staff very efficient and friendly, lovely modern restaurant and bar
Cons: Located by very loud road
Mediocre 3,0
Pros: Awful breakfast … paid 100£
Cons: Waste of money
Poor 1,0
Pros: Not much! Free parking free internet
Cons: Room was poorly lit poorly serviced tv did not have good reception uncomfortable bed noisy all night
Good 7,0
Pros: Nice clean beds
Cons: Shower pressure terrible
