Pros: Great location, very central so a short walk to most sites/ town centre. Breakfast was very nice as was the welcome from Betty (The Dog). Would highly recommend as a place to stay and I will definitely be returning for another visit in the near future.

Pros: Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the room named ‘landsend’ which was a lovely apartment and very comfortable. The imperial is also very conveniently located to the Plymouth pavilions and the hoe. Would highly recommend.

Cons: The shared bathroom and toilet was somewhat problematic in the morning, when other guests are also using the shared facilities. I think some guests are unaware that others are also waiting to take showers, use the toilet, etc. A five-to ten minute shower in the morning is doable and more thoughtful to other guests.

The Admiral MacBride is an English Pub located on Plymouth’s historic Barbican seafront. Less than a mile from the city centre, guests can enjoy free Wi-Fi access and a vast selection of beverages at the bar. There is also an extensive food menu available. Catering for a range of dietary needs, it uses local produce including fresh fish and shellfish. The cosy rooms at the Admiral MacBride each feature an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities and a TV. Some of the rooms also benefit from a sea view. With routes to France and Spain, Plymouth Ferry Terminal is just 7 minutes’ drive away. The National Marine Aquarium is a short 3-minute walk away, whilst Smeaton’s Tower is less than a mile away. From the bed and breakfast, The Monkey Sanctuary is also a 41-minute car journey away.

Cons: the bed had a cushion behind it to stop it squeaking...the heating was on constant and making a knocking noise all night making it difficult to sleep... the fixtures in the en suite were hanging off, the screws for the door handle were hanging out, dripping tap, toilet brush really should he cleaned or got rid of
