Pros: The place smells wonderful, from the floral smell that hits at the door, the wonderful food smells in the elevator to the clean room smell, this is a beautiful place to stay. The view of the city is lovely, and the room good sized. We have the option of luxurious bath tub or rain type shower. There are two sinks, and the bed is of course most comfortable with light control buttons on the nightstand. The toilet is automatic, and I do believe the seats are heated somehow. The staff is attentive and courteous. Location is close to trendy restaurants and shopping.
Cons: I wish we had time to experience the spa services and pool area, but we had to dash. The price was expensive, to be expected for the luxury, but still, expensive.

Cons: CAN YOU BELIEVE that first they confirmed reservation of all three rooms. At last moment they surprised us by cancelling it. I SHALL NEVER STAY AT KEMPINSKI IN MY LIFE.

Pros: A fairly genuine five star hotel with well appointed rooms including the "standard" amenities, restaurants and facilities. Location in the heart of Pudong's business area suited my needs well.
Cons: Complimentary WIFI is a bit irritating in the it required constant re-logging on even inside the 24 hour day - none of the various location logins remembers you. The spa is mediocre with relatively poor service and the pool is far from the expected comfortable resort hangout but rather like a small town community pool where you are given a gross looking community bathing cap before entering the water. While I realize that I'm in a foreign country the overall level of English speaking (understanding) in public areas is below expectations for this class of international hotel. A $ 133.00 charge for a 3 hour late checkout.

Cons: I needed a big vehicle to take my family and luggage to the train station, hotel was not able to assist.

Pros: I can't recommend Dorsett Shanghai enough! Traveling solo to Shanghai for the first time, I was worried that I could get stuck with a less-than-desirable hotel in an oddly-located part of the city. However, the Dorsett is easily accessed from Line 2 of the Metro, and right across the street from Century Park. The room was amazing. Luxurious quality with a bold design, it made me feel right at home, even on the other side of the world. It also had a beautiful view of the city overlooking the park. I couldn't have been happier. Finally, the service was outstanding. The team at Dorsett was completely accommodating when I needed to cancel a reservation later in the week, and did it without charging me for the room. They were professional and courteous.
Cons: I don't have any real complaints about the hotel. My only slight gripe is that I was hoping to have a quick meal at the restaurant before I got on my flight, but the prices were quite a bit more expensive than what I had expected.

Pros: Please Google "Shanghai Scam" if you are visiting. Location of hotel was good. It's one block from a major pedestrian shopping mall and you can easily walk to the river or to the square. The hotel room we got was a king and was really nice. It had a huge room and the bathroom was really nice also.
Cons: The A/C in our room didn't work. We notified reception and they sent an engineer to fix it and it worked for 36 or so hours after that and then blew warm air again. The reception staff said all the rooms A/C are bad and there was no point in moving us to another room. She said it's because the A/C units are old and the outside air is too warm to cool.

Cons: The room change to 2 single beds which is smaller than a king sizw bed.

Cons: Overpriced breakfast, too high tech—-for example there are no light switches and you have to use a tablet to turn the lights on and off. Similarly the toilet seat goes up automatically when you approach the toilet and the toilet flushes automatically when you move away from it .

Pros: For a little over $100 per night this hotel is very nice. I'm surprised there's an even more upscale sister hotel Grand Central next door! The rooms are quite spacious and clean. The location is excellent, 3 blocks from the Metro 2 stop and right behind the famous walking street.
Cons: The staff is not the most friendly and they were doing construction in a room close by which caused quite a bit of noise early in the morning and the water in our room was shut off for half a day. With that in mind we should have gotten a price reduction on the room for the inconvenience.

Pros: We were blown away by this hotel! Loved our room and the VUE Bar up top. We can't wait to stay again.
Cons: One big downfall- my husband got food poisoning or something from the Aroma Restaurant Buffet. Not sure what it was he ate but he spent the next 12 hours violently evacuating it from his system. Bummer for a ¥600+ dinner. :(

Pros: Great location, near convenient metro/subway, great value on weekend. Buffet was 50% off with hotel stay. Very friendly staff that spoke enough English. Minibar included water and a few pepsi’s. Would choose again.
Cons: Room was warm so they brought a fan in. Bed was firmer than I prefer. Older facility and was a bit confusing to find as it is actually in the stadium.
