Pros: I would recommend this hotel for both business and leisure.
18m indoor pool and gym were good.
Baby sitting service outsourced was fantastic, our sitter was a preschool teacher.
The Concierge service was second to none and nothing was ever a problem, even though we called them 15 times on the first evening.
Located right on the Bund (my room didn't have a Bund view) and was a 50m walk to the waters edge, and on one of the biggest shopping streets in China (East Nanjing Road).

Pros: The location is great but most rooms have no views. The products provided is top of the line and the jazz bar, though did not play jazz when we were there, is a nice old time Shanghai fair.

Pros: Great atmosphere and great room layout
Cons: The water pressure of the shower was very weak and we had lunch at their Chinese restaurant located on the 2nd floor which was a nightmare! They took too long to bring our order to the table bye the time the noodle dish arrived we had to leave without eating our lunch. We asked 3 different waiters to hurry our order and all fell on deaf ears. The manager of the restaurant wasn’t even sorry that we didn’t have our meal which we paid 1360rmb for . Total disappointment for a 5 star hotel!

Cons: Nothing. The hotel is brilliant. The only thing i found is that it takes quite a while to get from your room to the main lobby for a taxi or to walk to the tube or to the nearest sites. Somehow in the center of it all, it feels quite isolated, which we were fine with as we just wanted to enjoy the hotel.

There are two sinks, and the bed is of course most comfortable with light control buttons on the nightstand. The toilet is automatic, and I do believe the seats are heated somehow. The staff is attentive and courteous. Location is close to trendy restaurants and shopping.
Cons: I wish we had time to experience the spa services and pool area, but we had to dash. The price was expensive, to be expected for the luxury, but still, expensive.

Pros: Perfect place from where to discover Centre Shanghai, Xintiandi is appealing for foreigners. International. Not for exploring Chinese culture. But after a few days of being with Chinese people this feels like home. Groundfloor with reception, breakfast area ad live music, terrace gives very lively impression
Cons:

Pros: The hotel is an excellent choice. Very well situated in the center not far from Xuhui (Concessions françaises) and the Bund. The room is very well designed. And the people working there are extraordinary nice and helpful for whatever.
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect

Pros: Lovely lobby area
Excellent bell staff
Cons: Our room 2527 was good apart from some area of wear such as one of the mirrors next to the Nespresso machine

Pros: The hotel is in Pudong district, 10 mins walk to Pearl TV tower and metro subway station, and Daxing Shopping Centre. It's a 5 star hotel, grand reception area just like other 5 star hotels in China. We stayed here for 5 nights. Upon check-in, the counter staff explained to us that we can upgrade to club level in the higher levels, with an extra charge which was about 35% more than what we already paid, and that will include the breakfast, we were happy to take it. The room was on level 29, and it is very spacious, and the bathroom is very nice, and the water flow in the shower is great. The club lounge area on level 28 is very beautiful with great views over Huangpu River. The breakfast was good but a bit ordinary. The service from the club level was very ordinary and plain, nothing special, and the only highlight from the services was from a staff named Yudith, she came to say hello one morning during our breakfast, had a small chat, that's the only personal services we received during our 5 nights stay.

Cons: We have been traveling around the world and had been many 5 star hotels, this is the only hotel that doesn't provide 5 star hotel services, bluntly, not even 2 star services. The staff here are very plain, no enthusiastic, nor have any initiative for the services. During the 5 days stay, we come and go, not once the door staff greeted us, nor smiled at us. The concierge staff (often 3 - 4 staff behind the desk) were just busy head down, and doing their own things. The staff outside the door will look at us and look away, no smile, no hello, absolutely nothing. We didn't feel like welcomed in this hotel nor we felt that home coming feeling, instead, we felt like we were just numbers. It seems no one really cares in this hotel. You will get better service in the shopping department store nearby, as the staff will smile at you and say hello when you walk in. There are plenty 5 star hotels in Shanghai, but if you are looking for good, personal services, unfortunately, not from this hotel. We will not come back to this hotel in our next visit to Shanghai, unfortunately. What a shame.

Pros: A fairly genuine five star hotel with well appointed rooms including the "standard" amenities, restaurants and facilities.
Location in the heart of Pudong's business area suited my needs well.
Cons: Complimentary WIFI is a bit irritating in the it required constant re-logging on even inside the 24 hour day - none of the various location logins remembers you.
The spa is mediocre with relatively poor service and the pool is far from the expected comfortable resort hangout but rather like a small town community pool where you are given a gross looking community bathing cap before entering the water.
While I realize that I'm in a foreign country the overall level of English speaking (understanding) in public areas is below expectations for this class of international hotel.
A $ 133.00 charge for a 3 hour late checkout.

Pros: The room was nice, bathroom was great. Great views of the city overlooking the river, 2/4 walls were floor to ceiling glass. Close to subway station. Gym facilities added to our stay. The spa facilities were great, especially hot and cold plunge pools.
Cons: We were hoping that a 5* would be a special treat and had looked forward to the service and high-rise room. Unfortunately the service was, at best, of a 3* equivalent in our home country of Ireland. It detracted strongly from the excellent facilities. All restaurants in the hotel were closed between 2.30 and 5pm so we were forced to have to order room service. E.g., cold room service food (twice); difficulty in finding an unreserved seat due to no greeting staff at bar/restaurant doors (twice); coffee bar staff were cross-contaminating previous orders and spilling coffee on cups; breakfast was served across 3 bars - which was not explained to us, so we missed out 2/3 of the selection. €80 manicure had half cracked off before checkout the next morning.

Cons: The A/C in our room didn't work. We notified reception and they sent an engineer to fix it and it worked for 36 or so hours after that and then blew warm air again. The reception staff said all the rooms A/C are bad and there was no point in moving us to another room. She said it's because the A/C units are old and the outside air is too warm to cool.

Love the pillows and sheets with the Dove chocolate minis on turndown!
Cons: I had always loved the hotel's lobby and the bedroom/bathroom so on this return trip, I decided to stay with Grand Central Hotel again. The only drawback this time was the hotel was already on winter "mode" so they did not turn on the airconditioning, including in the rooms, thus we had to request for an air cooler and open the windows for cool air to enter the room. Otherwise, it will be warm when the centralized AC unit is switched on because the heater is activated. However, this is a +++ for environmental conservation.

Pros: A good range of foods and drinks on offer for all tastes, cultures, and creatures of habit. A good number of waiting staff always willing to help
Cons: Silly situations where the right cutlery was not always available and time lost looking for it. Pros: I booked a room with the Horizon club included without knowing what it was. All I can say is it was worth every penny. The service is exceptional at the hotel especially the lady working in the Horizon club. The view at floor 29 was great and the buffet which is included on this floor if you have access to it was delicious. Definitely coming back to this hotel next time.

Pros: Staff was responsive and tries to help.
Cons: It appears that more female staff are recently hired, which is great. More materials need to be provided to them to help them know what tourists generally ask about.
One thing I noticed about mainland Chinese is that that they do not give details but only a generalized answers. The more experienced staff are okay. But the newer staff should be told to be more specific because world travelers are not stupid. The details are what tourists want.
Also, give the young female staff encouragements rather than criticisms. And have the experienced staff, who seems to be mostly males, to give the female staff a chance to help tourists - so don't take over but assist on the side.

Cons: Ok, so we unluckily broke ONE wineglass. For that we got charged 10USD. Come on?! We paid more than 12 00USD for our stay, spent several dollars in the minibar etc, so it feels VERY greedy to be charged that much for one glass. Pros: I am in love with this property. I told my husband that I wanted to take the room we stayed back home. LOL the room was beeeeeeeautiful, the bathroom was spacious and cozy. the bed..... I never slept in a bed so comfortable. I could not wait to go back to the room at the end of the day. the breakfast was delicious. their restaurante was super cozy and with many DELICIOUS options. I was very surprised that the mini fridge was included and after 10pm they offered a free snack bar. From the hotel to Yu Garden is only 13-15 min walk and to the Nanjing Road 20 min. Short walk from main points.
Cons: nothing.
10,0 Excellent
Pros: Not a typical hotel room with just a bed. Very comfortable and loved the additional amenities. Will definitely bring my wife here in the future.

Pros: The location is great and they have English-speaking staff.
The Hotel itself is very comfortable and the mini-bar is refilled everyday and Free (coke & sprite, water and cookies).
The Restaurant of the Hotel, in the 4th floor has a wonderful view and good food. I went for breakfast and lunch, the prices are ok and the food is safe and tasty.
The subway station is 2 blocks away, quite convenient.
Cons: The location is good but there is a strange neighborhood crossing the street (not unsafe but not nice to walk either).

Cons:

Pros: Good location...near metro line, Yu Graden and not far from the Bund
Cons: Staff tried hard with English communications. Some staff were better than others. We were a bit surprised considering the big city and thatnthis was a chain of hotels.

Pros: The most incredible view of the Shanghai skyline from the Vue Bar. The Club Lounge is a great place to relax, have biz mtgs, breakfast, etc.
Cons: The lobby had absolutely no seating which was extremely frustrating as when traveling with colleagues, one usually tends to make the lobby a meeting point.

Pros: We were blown away by this hotel! Loved our room and the VUE Bar up top. We can't wait to stay again.
Cons: One big downfall- my husband got food poisoning or something from the Aroma Restaurant Buffet. Not sure what it was he ate but he spent the next 12 hours violently evacuating it from his system. Bummer for a ¥600+ dinner. :(

Pros: The location is splendid of course. The view on the Bund and Pudong is amazing.
Cons: Be aware that the swimming pool is only included if you have a swimming cap. You can buy one at the desk for €15,-(!) euros. Absolutely insane and this maken the swimming pool definitely not included with the facilities. Next to it, they are constructief oppositie of the hotel. The construction is 24/7. I stayed at the 24th floor and you can hear it loud and clear. Not even mentioning the start of the marathon at 06:00AM on a Sunday with a DJ in front of the hotel without informing the guests. Also this was clearly hearable on a Sunday morning. This review might be and 8.8. But it definitely isnt the experience I had with this hotel.

Pros: great location
Cons: I tried to change my stay at the hotel online a few weeks in advance from two nights to one as my plans had changws but it wouldn’t let me and said that I would have to cancel the whole booking to be able to do that, which I didn’t want to do as I did not want to lose the one night when I did want to stay. When I arrived at the hotel they still wouldn’t let me change it and that I should have done it online even though I explained that it would not let me change it online, so I still had to pay for two nights. Very frustrating.
