Pros: What is nice is the Zen atmosphere of the lobby though. The spa as well is very nice.

Cons: For a 5* hotel it's not what you would usually expect. The service for breakfast is ridiculous ( you can wait up to 15minutes to get a coffee). Breakfast choice is very limited and not a wide choice of options for breakfast. A la carte breakfast is ok but be ready to wait another 20 minutes after the coffee. Lights in the room are not strong enough in the bathrooms and you can hardly see yourself in the mirror. The hotel is quite nice overall but doesn't deserve a 5* rating but more of a 4*.

Pros: the quiet and homy atmosphere of the room as well as the excellent sport facilities and good service from the concierge

Cons: The food outside the lunch and dinner at the seconc floor is very poor and so is the breakfast every dish is not appealing and the eggs ordered separately are like a food chain eggs ...............

Pros: Timeless design, spacious rooms and the heavenly treatments at their UR Spa. A staff has been very kind to get me a DiDi (uber) using his personal account as it was impossible to find any taxi during rush hours.

Cons: No toothpaste and toothbrush in the room (as per Local Authorities' latest requirements).

Cons: not very clean as some hairs were seen in the shower room by the side of the shampoo when I first entered.Told the housekeeping lady the next day but still saw one hair....

Cons: Sold a breakfast package on arrival that didn’t seem to exist, manager did not believe us when we raised it on checkout Pool area excellent, trying to order food there a complete disaster. No one answers, then told that some items are not available after 11am, we had been trying to order since 10.30am... For a high price point, not really good enough

Pros: Breakfast was ok but not outstanding. Charging of small things is ennerving.

Cons: I was not so happy with the checkin and the facilities. Hall is quite crowded. Long checkin table bring a kind of school hall atmosphere with it. If you put "spa" in your name, you should be one.

Pros: Amazing pool and steam room. Great restaurant. Being able to order room service from a place with a Michelin star was a read treat.

Cons: No pedestrian walkway to reach the hotel from the street.

Pros: The location is excellent - near to the metro line. In hotel shopping is very good value. A very comfortable bed.In hotel dining is very good - especially the Japanese restaurant.

Cons: The hotel is excellent but close to needing a makeover. The room service catering is variable in quality.

Pros: It was like an oasis in the city, having garden. The original French Club building is marvellous. Five minutes walk from metro station, restaurants around. Clean, good breakfast, nice view from 33rd floor (including the elevator). The garden was a wonderful place which you can walk around and makes you forget that you are in one of the most crowded city in the world.

Cons: The tv was small. People smoking inside the hotel.

Pros: The hotel is outstanding! Very comfortable and with a broad and excellent selection of restaurants for dinner. The top-floor sky-bar is very nice as well and they have a great selection of cocktails and wines. I have stayed here for a week this year and also last year, so I can confirm that the quality of the experience is consistently very high. The selection of the breakfast buffet is outstanding. The cheaper continental & American breakfast variants are also very good. I always book without breakfast as on some days I prefer to simply have a croissant & coffee in one of the coffee shops around the corner whilst on others I prefer to use the hotel's buffet.

Pros: Breakfast is satisfactory compared with price. Hotel service is very good. Location is perfect. I will try next time.

Pros: Another great Stay at the Shangri La in Puxi , this is our second stay and it was great , the Room was awesome , with a view to the bund over the City , great big Livingroom and great bed , also the bathroom was great , we had executive Lounge and the Food was great , especially for afternoon tea , everybody was friendly and asking for our wishes ! especially the breakfast at the Lounge was great with some items to order , The Eggs benedict are a Dream ! Also the Location is perfect , in the middle of the City , with lots of places that can be reached by foot , from malls nearby to sites and to Restaurants or bars - perfect - our last 3 days Vacation in Shanghai - a dream ! Staff was always paying Attention - i want to Point out the guy at the entrance who always opened our Cab doors when we arrived or helped us in when we left !Also all the Staff in the Lounge - always helpfull and nice !

Cons: The check in took a bit Long but due to lots of People , also lot of traffic at the Hotel Entrace - this means waiting time for cabs or did is longer during peaktimes .

Pros: Loved our stay here. I used the gym every day. It has a great outlook and is well equiped. The machines were all set up with a towel and water, just waiting to be used. Comprehensive weights equipment and yoga mats provided. Breakfast was a feast and the staff were super friendly and efficient. The rooms were delightful and quiet. Great block out blinds at night (my husband is a light sleeper if there's light entering). Evening turn down and towel replacement, if needed. We enjoyed a view over JingAn Temple. Generous bathroom with quality products. Heated floor and heated towel rail.

Cons: We had pre dinner drinks at Calypso bar. The service could have been much better. After being seated and handed a menu, eventually I had to approach staff to place my order, as they were too busy talking between themselves.

Pros: My friends and I stayed at this hotel for a "staycation". We utilized the spa services, specifically massages and facials. My massage was lovely.

Cons: Two small things. My friend got a facial that was costly, and not only did the facialist get lotion in her eyes, but she also felt it was rough. The other thing is I needed a sewing kit to make a small repair to my dress before dinner, but this was not available in my room or at the concierge. The concierge asked if I could wait 5 minutes while she got one from Housekeeping. 5 minutes passed and I needed to leave to make my reservation on time. This was unfortunate.

Pros: Girls in the Lobby lounge were very nice.

Cons: The staff needs to speak better English at a 5 star hotel chain. Especially the front office staff left a lot to be desired. First and last guest contact.

Cons: The whole experience disappointed us. During the stay, the water pipe got problem and water was stopped for a while. Hotel didn’t inform us only after we called the service then only told yes it got problem. After a while, the water came, I went for showing. Who knows the water became fully yellow, and didn’t clean at all. I just washed hair and had to stop and step out. We asked for changing the room. However the hotel gave us a room with strong moldy smell (seems like long time nobody stayed). That time I had flu with headache. We asked to change another room which can be stayed and at least let me finish showing. However the manager Wang Bella said it is not their problem it is pipe problem and asked us to check the room one by one. Is it joking? No apologies, no solving the problem immediately but asked me with bath robe to wait for more than 20mins. Really ridiculous! Is it our request to much? Finally they agreed to upgrade to suite room. Another ridiculous thing happened when we checked out. They asked us to TOP UP the suite room fee. But when they upgraded they didn’t inform us that we need to pay, and overall is it our fault? We really feel disappointed. Is this a 5 star hotel servicing? Not at all:

Pros: The service and food & beverage in the Horizon Executive Club are excellent and the personnel are very friendly with children. We will definitely come back!

Pros: The location, design, large rooms and particularly the heating bathroom floors were my favorite features. I am a frequent business traveler and this used to be one of my favorite Shanghai-La properties in China, which makes this all the more disappointing - read on.

Cons: Despite the wonderful hardware and location, service was extremely poor this stay. I am not sure what happened since my last stay some time ago, but to illustrate: (A) The check-in took over 20 minutes with the front desk arguing with housekeeping on the phone and me just standing there after a long trip. May I suggest just letting the client sit down with a coffee or just tell me to get a bite to eat close by and come back later - I would wager your customers are not really interested in the details of why rooms were not ready or released on the system by 4:30pm. Also, you guys need to manage the queuing system for front desk - it’s chaos. (B) People put the DO NOT DISTURB light on because they do not want to be disturbed. Calling and waking me to ask WHY the DND light was on and asked me to leave and turn off the DND so the cleaning team can clean is just unexpected and not Shanghai-la. What is this, a shared dormitory with cleaners who only come in once a day between 12 and 4pm? (C) Out of the 4 day stay, tea bags were not replenished for 2 days, and creamer was not replenished on one of the days. Not a big problem, but shouldn’t there be some sort of a system? Do I need to next worry about whether the towels were replaced or the toilet scrubbed? Overall the staff feel like they were quite inexperienced but also on a tight leash; People seem more focused on getting their job done and assigning responsibilities rather than making the customer happy. This is a problem for a high end hotel. I rarely write reviews, but choose to do so this time because I have a very long history with the hotel. You have a problem at this property, please look into it!

Pros: Location is great right at Nanjing road and on walking distance to the French concession. Perfect day base for shopping the multiple low priced great quality brands such as Uniqlo. Price seems very reasonable specially due to the location. Midkey location wit tons of good local restaurants and stores around.

Cons: The hotel rooms equipment has seen better days.

Pros: The room was very spacious. Complimentary happy hour and afternoon tea was a lovely touch and appreciated by our group. Cachet put a lot of effort into the fine details. Really enjoyed my stay there.

Pros: Location is very good, close to metro satation and nice suburb. Convenient location to reach everything.

Pros: I think this hotel is brilliant, I have stayed here a number of times and always have a positive experience. The staff are really helpful and always go the extra mile. The breakfast is very good. I was upgraded to a better room this trip which was appreciated. The happy hour in the afternoon is very generous. The hotel gym is not great but there is a managed gym onsite that has very good group classes. There is a laundry which is appreciated. Location is brilliant with good restaurants and shopping in the area. 1 minute to the metro entrance. For reference this hotel is boutique and whilst it isn't 5 star it makes up for it in so many other ways.

Pros: I need to visit the US Embassy, and the property is just 3-minute walk. It is also right next to the subway station, making this an ideal place for my travel this time. Upon arrival, due to some passport/National ID complications, the front desk (His name is Daniel) was extremely helpful in getting me settled. I am exceptionally pleasant with his hospitality and patience. I would definitely visit this place again.

Cons: The entrance could be a little hard to find, and it took me a while to figure out that reception is on 3rd floor.

Pros: Location is excellent. MRT Line 2 Exit 1. Or Exit 4 to excess to Shop and Restaurant. Uniqlo , Sephora and Starbuck Reserve is just walking distance. Cameo Balcony Suite is excellent and this hotel provide Paraben, Silicone and Gluten free shampoo, conditioner and body shower, Brand name-Nature Bisse, no allergy reaction to my sensitive skin.

Cons: Lighting switch is confusing if really have to mention

Cons: Rather small windows in my room. A bit noisy due to a big worksite outside the hotel.
