Pros: We are moving from coast to coast during the COVID 19 crisis. The Gibbs Hotel (across from the Alamo) was not just open, they were extremely welcoming and caring within the necessary restrictions. We had the most beautiful room ever overlooking the Alamo. Although beautiful San Antonio was closed during the pandemic, we will not forget our stay at the Gibbs. It makes things so much better when everyone is worried and stressed to have a place where they not only remember their history, they preserve their beautiful hotel with all the modern amenities. This is a 5* property with 5* staff.

Cons: The room was very cramp. The restroom door was hard to open and close. The dresser doors in the room would not stay shut. We were accused of smoking in the room. We do not smoke! It was a very noisy hotel. Many homeless people at the entrance always.

Cons: As a downtown hotel, they have parking in a city lot which is certainly going to be very busy and crowded in normal tourist times in downtown San Antonio.

Cons: Specifically asked for a certain room and staff wouldn’t even check to see if it was available. Didn’t like the fact that all amenities were shut down or they didn’t do. You should not charge full price when all of your amenities are gone. No vending machine, drinks in the pantry 70degrees.

Pros: Made a special stop at the river walk on our five day trek from Pittsburgh to puerto Vallarta Mexico. Stopped to enjoy the beautiful view and exeperience the river walk. The resort was absolutely gorgeous. Unique with design, very friendly conceierge, and beautiful room layout.

Cons: Parking at the hotel is a ridiculous $36/night and they charged for two parking spots for our two motorcycles even though we actually had both bikes consolidated out of the way in the valet area not even in the parking garage. That was irritating.
The hotel staff were polite but very cold and decidedly unfriendly. Don't believe I did anything to be offensive or difficult - I didn't even argue about the parking issue - but all of the desk staff (two in the evening, one in the morning) gave the impression they had much better things to do than speak with me.

Cons: Our one and only critique, and rather silly at that, after pulling in with our vehicle and stopping at the front valet, the attendant seemed almost shocked when we said, yes we would like you to park the car, and replied with an almost doubtful "are you sure? Wouldn't you like to hear the prices?" Though I'm sure he was just trying to do his job and avoid later frustration, the tone in which he asked us the question was borderline offensive. Young man if we can afford to stay where we are staying we certainly assure you we can afford to park.

The pool, restaurant and gym.. we wanted a night away with our kids and keep the amount of people in one spot as low as possible and it was. The room was nice and the staff service was excellent. Cons: I stayed at this location about a year ago and one of the elevators was not working. I was shocked that again one of the two elevators wasn't working again during my most recent stay. One elevator is not enough for this location resulting in long wait times. In addition, one of my family members was locked out of the hotel due to a malfunctioning key card. The hotel receptionist was less than helpful and made them wait over an hour until I returned. It was not a pleasant experience and no consideration was given by the hotel.

Cons: Beware when booking that your room doesn't face the noisy atrium. Ours was just above the mezzanine, RIGHT ABOVE, where breakfast events for 150 took place. Our final night there was a very loud, very bad band. Key access in elevators was a hassle.

Cons: My husband & I usually stay at the Drury Plaza which we never have any issues staying at that hotel but unfortunately, we chose to do something different & stayed at the Hyatt which was the worst experience EVER! We have never dealt with so much disrespect from the staff; managers & security. The first night we stayed there the room was extremely hot around 80 degrees & we thought it would cool down but it never did, they sent maintenance & the problem was still not fixed, then next day they moved us to another room & the toilet didn't work. Our vacation was a total nightmare! This hotel service doesn't even deserve a 1 but there is nothing less I can put for their poor service & staff!! BEWARE BEFORE YOU STAY HERE!!!!!

Pros: After many hours of driving I arrived at the hotel at 3pm check in time, after some confusion with the valet I went to my room for a shower before joining my up with my brother for a late lunch. While showering, after about 90 seconds the after went ice cold. After getting dressed I went to the front desk to tell them of the water problem. The woman at the desk without apologizing said that probably wasn’t operating the shower properly. Later that night I needed something from my vehicle and went to the desk for the key to my truck. The valet escorted me to my truck and casual mentioned that my truck had been involved in an accident earlier in the day. No one notified me of the accident and no one working at this time had any information about the accident. The staffs incompetence required me to get the police involved several hours after the accident.

Pros: We were in the middle of a military move and we always try to have a stop with our kids to explore a new location on the way to our new home. This time we chose San Antonio. We had our dog with us, who was traveling for the first time and I was nervous about thin walls an noise upsetting him. The rooms were quiet, so that wasn't an issue. They even had an area for us to take our pup to do his business. The staff was great with him, even one of the valet attendants would pet him every time he saw him. Breakfast had more than enough option and met everyone's wants in our family of 5. We chose this hotel because of the price and the location being close to the Alamo and Riverwalk. Little did I realize where we were really staying and the history of the hotel. We had our three boys (6,9,&11) and they loved the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who has rambunctious kids as it felt like they had more older travelers. Our boys are pretty mellow, so it wasn't ever a concern for us. I would highly recommend this hotel and I would be happy to stay here again. We have stayed at many different types of hotels and resorts over the years and The Crockett Hotel is one of our favorites.

Cons: The tv messed up 8 times, we had to have maintenance come in multiple times, the bathroom faucet leaked and got all over the counter, and at one point a maintenance man just walked into our room without being let in or any prior warning. We had just woke up and a man just walked in to “check the door stoppers” is what he said. We were pretty upset. After 2 days of the tv not working, faucet running and a man walking into our room, they finally upgraded us to a suite. We had no issues after that.

Cons: Our car keys with the valet went missing and couldn't be located the morning we were set to leave. Thankfully we had our second set with us so we were able to continue on our journey and stay on target. The staff stayed in contact with us and let us know the second they had found them. They mailed the keys overnight to our destination so that they were there before we even arrived. While it was inconvenient, they made sure to fix the issue and that would not keep me from staying with them again.

Pros: Although parking was way too high the valet was nice and quick. The rooms were spacious and beds comfortable. Location is everything for this hotel, it's right around the corner from the entrance to the Alamo which made it nice for my father-in-law who can't do alot of walking.
Cons: Not much lighting in the room. Pillows were too soft but that's a personal preference. For the price of the room you figured parking could be included but $40 after taxes is pretty high. Asked for a wakeup call but didn't receive one but luckily I was up before hand. Swimming pool is more like a small stainless steel tub with slippery bottom but was heated enough.

The valet delivered our car but we had to wait a long time for another employee who had the key! No one offered to help us with luggage. Cons: The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. We arrived early and had two little kids melting down, I didn’t expect for the room to be ready, but we let them know we were here and we’d hang out. They put a “rush” on get the the room ready for us and we still had to wait until 30 minutes after check in. The pool was not heated, not cold, but definitely not heated...which was e main reason we booked this hotel. The bathroom was tiny. I would not recommend. There are too many other options nearby.

Cons: Carpet on our hotel floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in days. Food crumbs/debris littered about from getting off the elevator and throughout our floor lobby and outside our hotel room door. I mentioned it to one of the staff, but it was still there the next morning when we checked out. And the only other compliant was waiting forever for valet to bring the car around. Took around 40 minutes but it was very busy during out stay.

I offered to be “green” the first night and somehow house keeping decided not to clean again...I asked the housekeeping staff to clean, they didn’t. I called the last front desk, who said it would happen. They still didn’t, finally I went down to the lobby and just begged for clean towels...finally they cleaned. In a one week stay, my room was cleaned 2 times. I don’t mind being green, but every other day seems reasonable...not twice in a week.

Pros: Excellent location on a quieter section of The Riverwalk allowed quick, easy access to the fun without all the noise keeping me up all night.
Cons: My bed had obviously been slept on by multiple people! One side had an uncomfortable indentation about 2-inches deep which made sleeping in the middle of the bed impossible because I kept rolling to the low side where the mattress was lumpy and broken down. I woke with back pain each morning. However, my traveling companion did not have an uneven mattress and slept like a baby!

Cons: The first room had a leak on floor so had to move late to another floor which had a roach on the floor and late check out was only 30 mins which didn't help due to me having to move during middle of night due to floor being wet after i had to dry it up several times. Night and evening sraff were great.

Cons: Dumpy and dingy. Over an hour to check in. Worst part, there was a restaurant receipt from a previous guest IN THE BED when I pulled the sheets back. Yes, it met my expectations for a 2-star hotel!
