Pros: My wife and I wanted to get away for our anniversary and typically we’d travel out of country but we were limited on time so decided to stay local. La Cantera Resort and Spa was a great experience that surpassed our expectations. We upgraded and were able to stay on a private floor with our own lounge that provided snacks throughout the day and a pass to the spa and private pool. It was great and we look forward to visiting again.

Pros: I am honestly impressed... no, I’m blow away. I’ve been to large resort properties before and the service was lackluster at best. I wasn’t expecting much but La Cantera not only met my expectations but exceeded them. Down to the smallest of details, it was 5-star service the entire time. It was a family atmosphere with adult perks. We very much loved the adult infinity pool and cabanas overlooking the beautiful hills. Fire pits everywhere, multiple dining options on property, areas to sit and meditate. The spa is supposed to be incredible but I didn’t have time to check it out. And the property was like a page ripped out of Architectural Digest magazine. Absolutely gorgeous inside and out!! Waking up to the views of the countryside was like something you only dream of. I highly recommend La Cantera. They will not disappoint!

Pros: The property itself is beautiful. Free self-parking. Loved the adults only pool, although more umbrellas are necessary. The pool staff was great. I really appreciate that reserving pool beds is not allowed. The shopping area is 5 minutes away from the hotel and you can ride there in the shuttle provided by the hotel.

Cons: When taking food orders by the pool, there needs to be a better way of verifying guest name with room number when placing orders or closing out; my self and my sister were charged for other peoples tab. It took well over a week and a half to get that corrected with management.

Donna on of the managers oh and the other manager ( I apologize I forgot her name but she as the night manager with short hair) was exceptional they walked around and greeted all the guests at happy hour and breakfast, bussed tables, and asked if we needed anything. EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE The hot tub was a comfortable 102 degrees and the swimming pool was large. Happy hour was great.

Cons: The hotel was nice, but the hall has a real bad dog urine smell that hits you everytime you come out the room. Also, I had no phone reception in my room, only in the halls. Lastly, the breakfast lady was trying to shut down the buffet early. I was trying to get a drink before it closes and she told me we close. I stated it’s 10:26 and she pulled her phone out her shirt pocket and said oh ma’am I’ll turn the machine back on.

Cons: I didn't like the check-in staff was not friendly. The quilt had a couple of stains on them and the elevator sections were not air-conditioned properly. By the time I arrived, the pool was already closed, so my kids were not able to enjoy it.

Cons: When i got into my room, the TV was already on and one of the beds looked like someone was already laying in it. I had to roll a luggage carrier back to the front that someone had left in there along with open food wrappers. There were dirty socks in the room as well as used towels and soap in the restroom. The TV didn’t have a remote so I had to unplug it to turn it off. I felt so uncomfortable and I tried to just rest regardless but I ended up leaving that same night and checking out. I still paid until Thursday and told the front receptionist why I was leaving. She just smiled and let me be on my way.

Cons: The location was horrible nothing in walking distance so you will have to fight traffic for everything. There were people screaming help in the hallway at 4am because they were being arrested for whatever reason. The towels and wash cloths were dingy. The evening staff was rude. There were “tweakers” walking the property all hours of the night. Parking was very slim and there was alway a long walk to the building from the area to the parking area. There was always a smell of cigarettes in the hallways even though it claimed to be a non smoking facility. Stray cat and dogs running around and also have to watch out for the raccoons at night. Some guests had their car broke into during our stay. Overall we were very disappointed in our stay and what we got for the money we paid.

Cons: The parking sucks, the hotel shuttle bus had the best parking spot,why? The hotel entrance sucked, 1 door not automatic so entering with a baggage cart was awkward. The room doors were hollow metal doors that you could hear people walking in the hallways and when you were walking in the hallways you could into peoples rooms. Most doors on my floor liked as if there had been an attempt to break in. The locks on my door rated a 3 of 10 at best.

Maybe I should have cancelled thro booking.com rather then through location.( I don't know) And I got a smoking room which was NASTY and I NEVER book for those kinds of rooms. Thank GOD I brought spray & cracked door open a few times to air out.

Cons: We had to change rooms because The room next to us had a dog that was barking constantly and could be heard from the second floor all the way to the lobby. They did nothing about it except put us at the opposite end of the hotel. That room was infested with Crickets and the carpets were badly stained. The third room they put us in had some crickets and even worse carpet stains. The man at the counter was very nonchalant about the whole thing and had no personality at all. This was their second chance with us. The last time we stayed with them we made arrangements to check in at 3 AM and they canceled us as a no-show and refused to give us our money back. We had to file a corporate complaint to get a refund. They will not get a third chance with us.

They will also give a discount if you are staying for medical reasons. The rooms were clean and have kitchens. Tub drained slowly after taking a sponge bath (didn’t trust cleanliness to take a tub bath plus cannot get into, sit down and get out of tub). Toilet was iffy flushing consistently without starting to back up. Night clerk Taura was most cheerful and helpful. Day clerk was helpless to do anything, manage would not come out of his/her office to discuss any issues. Multiple tears in the flooring. Though price was right, totally NOT worth what we paid. Dreadful night!

Cons: Staff rudeness. Room poor quality furnishings.

Cons: I was in room 112 and when trying to connect to the WiFi kept telling me i needed to move closer.

Pros: It was so close to six flags
Cons: Just that someone tried to come in to our room in the middle of the night it was uncomfortable. Whoever it was knocked twice at 4am then someone tried to open the room and almost succeeded if it wasn’t for the security bar ! They should have more security! They disrupted my sleep twice and I feared for mine and my friends life !
