Our stay started out rough, but then turned around. Prior to our stay we had called to inform the hotel, we would be checking in around 2am due to our late flight(red eye). Hotel staff told us they’d make a note and late check in would be no problem. Day of our flight was delayed, also we happened to receive a call from the hotel. The person on the phone asked about our check in; and I told her we’d be even later due to our delayed flight. She says she’ll make a note, it’s no problem. We arrive at the Hotel to check in around 215am-225am. We’re met with the person at the front desk. He doesn’t greet us, just stares. I take the initiative and say we have a reservation. His response is it’s after 2am my system is in audit and there’s nothing I can do. At that point we’re tired and just want to get a room. I explained that I had called when I had made the reservation about our late check in, I also told him that we were called as we were getting on our flight. Both times we were told “no problem, we’ll make a note of that”. He then grabs a paper, I’m assuming that has our check in info on it. He holds it up and proceeds to tell us, there is no note of our late arrival. He still isn’t doing anything with his computer to make any progress on getting us into a room. I again explain that we had called and also been called by the hotel staff about our late check in. He then states the paper he is holding says checking in around 1230am. I once again repeat our original flight was to land at 1am, o had called to let the staff know we’d be closer to 2am. He finally begins to type on the computer. As he’s typing he then proceeds to tell us we’re being assessed a $140 late check in fee. My wife promptly snaps back “NO”, at which point I tell him we’re not going to pay that. I again explain all the calls and assurances that we’d have no problem checking in late. He then proceeds to say he can’t do anything about the charge. I told him I’d be speaking to the manager about the charge, but to proceed checking us in. He then says we’d have to take up the charge with Expedia, and we could talk to the manager but there’s nothing they could do it’s Expedia’s fee. I shook my head and repeated that I’d speak to the manager in the morning. He finally gets us a room key and tells us which floor. He didn’t give any other information on the property. We proceed to our room 605. As a routine for us, my wife selects her side of the bed. When we pull the covers back, we notice a giant indent in the mattress. At this point I just laugh and point, you chose that side! My wife then grabs the extra blankets from the closet and forms a filler to level out the giant indentation. Forward to the next day. We meet with the manager, and explain our whole ordeal. She listens intently, apologized to us and promptly offers to change rooms. She also tells us we wouldn’t be charged any fee for the late check in. She was very understanding and helpful. She moved us rooms to a higher floor with a bigger room. She gave us a run down of what the property had to offer, all the sites close by for us to go see. She offered suggestions for places to eat and how to navigate the river walk. Overall she was able to salvage our experience with this hotel. Aside from our check in experience, we ended up having a good trip. Thank you to the management and the rest of the staff for making the rest of our experience pleasant.

Pros:Great location, great upgrade and we loved how it was just steps from the river walk. Superior and extremely welcoming staff.

Pros:Fantastic service, and well-appointed all-suite hotel. The hotel exceeded expectations, and was truly a great value.
Cons:An included breakfast would have been great, but I knew this was not included when I booked, so it doesn't diminish my opinion whatsoever.

Pros:The room was considerably larger than I expected, with a separate sitting area. Everything was clean, and in good condition. The regular price was fairly expensive, but I managed to get a reasonable rate through Expedia.

Pros:Made a special stop at the river walk on our five day trek from Pittsburgh to puerto Vallarta Mexico. Stopped to enjoy the beautiful view and exeperience the river walk. The resort was absolutely gorgeous. Unique with design, very friendly conceierge, and beautiful room layout.
Cons:Our one and only critique, and rather silly at that, after pulling in with our vehicle and stopping at the front valet, the attendant seemed almost shocked when we said, yes we would like you to park the car, and replied with an almost doubtful "are you sure? Wouldn't you like to hear the prices?" Though I'm sure he was just trying to do his job and avoid later frustration, the tone in which he asked us the question was borderline offensive. Young man if we can afford to stay where we are staying we certainly assure you we can afford to park.
