Turks and Caicos Islands Travel Restrictions

Unvaccinated visitors from South Africa will not be allowed to enter the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Vaccinated visitors from South Africa can enter the Turks and Caicos Islands with a negative COVID-19 test result.

Turks and Caicos Islands entry details and exceptions

Unvaccinated travelers are not allowed to enter Turks and Caicos. Travelers who are medically unable to take a vaccine must upload proof of this to the TCI Assured Portal. Entry restrictions do not apply to returning Turks and Caicos citizens and residents, travelers under the age of 16 and travelers who are fully vaccinated. Temperature screening is required for all travelers on arrival.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from South Africa must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) or Antigen (quick-test) test taken 72 hours before departing to the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Details and exceptions
Travelers must have a negative COVID-19 test result (NAA, NAAT, RNA, Molecular, PCR, RT-PCR, RT-qPCR, RNA-PCR, or Antigen test). Only results from oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal samples are accepted for COVID-19 PCR tests. Only results from nasopharyngeal samples are accepted for COVID-19 Antigen tests. Travelers are required to submit this test in their pre-travel authorization form. This requirement does not apply to travelers under the age of 10 and some fully vaccinated Turks and Caicos residents.
Quarantine requirements

Unvaccinated visitors from South Africa will need to quarantine for 7 days upon entering the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to quarantine.

The isolation period can be shortened
Travelers can take a COVID-19 test on day 5 and end quarantine earlier with a negative result.
Details and exceptions
Unvaccinated returning Turks and Caicos residents are required to quarantine for 7 days on arrival in Turks and Caicos, and take a COVID-19 test on day 5 to end quarantine.

Travel Authorization Form

Travelers are required to complete a pre-travel authorization form at least 24 hours before departure to Turks and Caicos. <p>Travelers are required to include a negative COVID-19 test taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival in Turks and Caicos, as well as valid travel insurance in their pre-travel authorization form. Travelers without authorization will not be permitted to board a flight to the Turks and Caicos.</p>

Health Insurance

Travelers are required to have valid health insurance with COVID-19 coverage (medical costs, full hospitalization, doctors’ visits, prescriptions, air ambulance). Travelers are required to submit proof of their insurance in their pre-travel authorization form.


Return travelReturning to South Africa from the Turks and Caicos Islands

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travellers returning from the Turks and Caicos Islands must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to South Africa.

Details and exceptions
traveler with no proof of a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to do an antigen test on arrival at his or her own cost and if positive for COVID-19, he or she will be required to isolate at their own cost, for a period of 10 days.
Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from the Turks and Caicos Islands are not required to quarantine upon entering South Africa.

Details and exceptions
Travelers who display any COVID-19–related symptoms must be tested on arrival. In the event that the result of the COVID-19 test is positive, they will be required to quarantine for 10 days. The cost of testing and quarantine will be on the travelers' expense.
