COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Visitors from South Africa must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departing to Tunisia.

Details and exceptions
Travelers, including vaccinated individuals and passengers who recovered from COVID-19 (tested positive 6 weeks before departure) are required to present a negative PCR test written in Arabic, English, or French upon arrival in the country. Travelers are still subject to a rapid testing once they enter the country. In the event that they are tested positive, they are required to undergo quarantine.
Children under the age of 12 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 PCR test result.
Quarantine requirements

Unvaccinated visitors from South Africa will need to quarantine for 10 days upon entering Tunisia.

Fully vaccinated visitors with approved vaccination certificates do not need to quarantine.

The isolation period can be shortened
After 7 days of quarantine at the earliest, travelers can get a PCR or antigen test. If the test is negative, travelers do not need to quarantine further.
Details and exceptions
Diplomats, vaccinated individuals and passengers who recovered from COVID-19 (tested positive 6 weeks before departure), unaccompanied minors or minors accompanied by vaccinated adult, disabled and elderly passengers with special needs are exempt from quarantine requirement.

COVID-19 testing requirements
Test type

Travellers returning from Tunisia must present a negative RT-PCR (NAAT) test taken 72 hours before departure to South Africa.

Details and exceptions
traveler with no proof of a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to do an antigen test on arrival at his or her own cost and if positive for COVID-19, he or she will be required to isolate at their own cost, for a period of 10 days.
Children under the age of 5 are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 test.
Quarantine requirements

Visitors returning from Tunisia are not required to quarantine upon entering South Africa.

Details and exceptions
Travelers who display any COVID-19–related symptoms must be tested on arrival. In the event that the result of the COVID-19 test is positive, they will be required to quarantine for 10 days. The cost of testing and quarantine will be on the travelers' expense.
